None of these reviews helped me decide whether or not to go all the way to POM, so heres one that might help you decide that you should. They have everything asian I wanted and then some. Read on for a far more descriptive review than all the others. Youll find Chinese, Korean, Indian, and Japanese products here. If you are looking for a one stop Asian foods marketplace this is it. For fresh products youll find basically every piece of produce you need, fresh breads including filled breads, loaf breads, and Chinese donut, fresh roasted bird, and other typical products ready to go like steam buns and shomai. The meat and fish looked fresh but I didnt pay much attention to those. They had quite a bit of fresh lobster. The frozen section had both a Chinese and Japanese section but the Chinese section was much larger. In another section there is a nice selection of Indian frozen foods such as nan and other ready to cook foods at good prices. They had everything I wanted. Frozen steam buns, frozen meat and seafood, frozen treats, and more. The dried goods selection was crazy. The tea selection is quite massive, though pretty much all of it is only Chinese tea which means mostly green. They had every sauce or spice you would want but I wasnt looking for anything super hard to find. The snacks section was quite large as well. If youre a fan of tea treats youll find a lot from cake rolls of many flavors to crackers of all kinds and at very low prices. If youre hoping to find those stereotypical Japan fan treats like Pocky and Ramune youll find some but there are much better sugary things to find at this store. They had a separate isle for Indian products and another for Japanese. The Indian spice selection was good though the Japanese section didnt have much of what I would typically need. They did not have any rose water, which I thought a bit odd, but thats not something most places stock. The housewares isle is where I really hit the jackpot. They had some really nice Japanese plates and cups that, while not cheap, were very well made and quite unique looking. They had cheaper Chinese plates and cups that looked nice but not nearly as amazing as the Japanese products. Sure you will be paying more than double per piece for the Japanese products but they look amazing. They have all the utensils you need plus a ton of incense if youre into that. If you need Japanese products and dont want to go all the way downtown then youll find a decent amount of what you need including Yuzu sauce, most noodles, Eel sauce, gyoza dip and a few other things you wont find at a regular grocer. However if you are looking for more specifics like soy paper, mochi (just pure mochi not the deserts), super high quality tea, or specific Japanese drinks or treats then you will need to go somewhere else. Youll find almost everything you need here. Oh and the employees were super nice and even gave us a deal when we bought a ton of dishware.

I bought 30 lbs of beef at this store. When I got home to prepare it, I found that there were huge layers of fat. After cutting all the fat off, I weighed it and it was about 10% of the total weight. I thought it was absurd that the store did not make a reasonable effort to clean off massive chunks of inedible fat and told them so the next time I went to purchase another 30 lbs of beef. They assured me they would do a better job of cleaning this time. When I got home, I found there to be over 10% of fat again. Basically, the store is keeping unusable fat on the meat to inflate the total weight and thus inflate the total price. They might as well stick some dumbells on there too. The age old stereotype that Chinese people will do anything to make a quick buck off you -- Pacific Ocean fits that. Will not be patronizing their shameful business anymore. By the way, I saved all the fat I trimmed off. I will be dropping it off at their stores front door soon. So the next time you roll up and smell a nasty stench, youll know what it is!

Think King Soopers for Asian Food and thats what this place is like. Complete with bakery and deli. Great deli sandwiches: BBQ pork on a french roll with cilantro, jalapenos, cole slaw vegetables is awesomely good and not expensive. Communications can be challenging but be nice, patient, and try phrasing your questions in different ways if you are not understood. Produce area has a large variety of items that are not found elsewhere. Really like their bakery too, many little sweet treats. I swear there is a whole aisle just devoted to soy sauces! Always a fun place to visit and look at things, and I always buy too much. They also have a similar store south on Alameda a few blocks east of Federal.

I am from NYC, I have been to the far east, love and cook mostly asian and for the last few months have been bringing home stuff like lotus root etc from NY to CO, then I found this Market, I am in love! They dont have everything, but I have never been to a Asian market in the states or abroad that did lol. I am very happy of my new find! and yes they have Lotus Root, a great sea food selection and real Shitakes. Reasonable prices, very nicely done! Oh and if your complaining that its not your fancy Whole Foods, or what have you, try shopping in China town in July!

I bought salmon steak from this store a few months ago, and back home I found they were rotten and put them to trash. I thought that was just one time bad-luck, and I purchased different type of "fresh" fish from this store again yesterday. But to my disappointment, the fish was not fresh when I cooked it last night. To me, it was not worth driving back to return it -- My time worths more than the price of fish. I have to ask the store manager to use a better quality control on their seafood.

POM in Broomfield is the closest Asian market from Boulder with affordable prices and good selection of foods and other products (e.g. cookware etc). Consistently a few $ cheaper than H-mart for the same foods or drinks (e.g. instant tea and coffee drinks, frozen fish). Good selection of meats, fish, spices and various Asian cooking essentials. On a side note, cell phone reception is bad inside the store if you want to quickly look up a recipe or product description/translation online.

This is a great place to buy all the ingredients for a homemade Asian meal. I cant vouch for the authenticity since Ive lived in Colorado my whole life and dont have any Asian heritage, but I go here whenever I want to make a big Asian meal at home (especially sushi!). It smells bad, though, so you wont want to spend a ton of time there.

If this store is not on your regular rotation of grocery stores you are missing out. With members of my flock allergic to corn syrup, it is so refreshing to find a store that sells snacks from outside the states (not beholden to the corn lobby USA). Asian cooking staples like giant bottles of sauces and noodles are priced right.
