Ive been there a few times and always left disappointed. The first time I went in was because I heard an advertisement for their free tire rotations as long as you sign up for their rewards program. Turns out you cant get the free tire rotation until 24 hours after you sign up for the program, so I decided to come back a few days later. The next time, I showed up without an appointment and was told that the wait would be 3 hours. The manager said that a few people called in sick and another guy quit, so they were short staffed. They only had about half their bays in use. The individuals in the waiting area were all agitated and asking the service staff why their cars were taking so long, so I figured it was just an off day, and decided to come back another time. The third time I decided to call and set up an appointment. I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment and asked them to perform the tire rotation plus a general service inspection on my entire vehicle so I could have a list of things that need to be fixed on my car. They said it would take about 30-45 minutes to complete, and I left my keys and walked around the shopping plaza to kill time. I showed back up about 30 minutes later and noticed my car had not entered the service bays yet. I decided to walk around the store and check out their products. After 30 minutes of doing that, I sat in the waiting area for another 30 minutes. There were 4 or 5 other people in the waiting area that were also waiting much longer than their quoted times. I walked up to the manager and asked why it was taking so long, and had no idea that everyone in the store was upset about the long wait. He went outside and said that they would be pulling my car into the service bay any minute (which to their credit was true). The guy doing the work on my car spent about 45 minutes working on my car, and when I went to check out, found out that they had not done the service inspection. The idea for a free tire rotation is great. It gets people in the door and just like in my case, could be a good stepping stone for future work. Their customer service and disorganization is horrendous however, and will prevent me from ever going back. They are extremely slow, dont keep their appointments, and have no organizational skills inside at the counter. Trying to get in touch with someone inside the store (unless you are making a regular purchase at the cash register) is nearly impossible. I will never use this store again, and highly recommend that you dont either.

By far the worst experience Ive ever had at a service establishment. I made an appointment over the phone for 0930 to have 2 new tires I provided mounted and the vehicle aligned. I dropped the vehicle off at 0915 and was told they might not be able to do a full alignment because my vehicle was lifted, not a big deal. Right before leaving, I was told they couldnt do an alignment because my truck was too wide, again not a big deal. Was told it would take 2- 2 1/2 hours. Drove by at 1145 and my truck hadnt been moved yet. Went inside and talked to the service manager, He said my vehicle was next and it would be done by 1300. Came back at 1245 and my truck was in a bay with tires still on it. The service manager tried to make it my fault saying I didnt tell him I had a certain style rim that made it harder to remove a tire from, That people had made last minute appointments online, excuse after excuse. By 1345 my truck was done, and after arguing with the manager he waived the $25 fee for mounting 2 tires. I would have had a much better experience if they had just been honest with me from the start telling me people had made appointments that ran long, and if the manager had seemed sincere about holding my truck for over 4 hours just to mount 2 tires. The customer service here is a horrible joke and watching the auto techs struggle to remove/install my tires made me rethink ever shopping at pepboys again. I checked my lug nuts after getting home and there is no way they were torqued to spec as I was able to get a full turn on each nut. Pros - was able to get an appointment night before Cons - appointment for 0930 was more like an appointment for whenever they can - Customer service blows - Manager needs brush up on tact - Service techs need brush up on procedures to remove/install tires - Quality control is a joke bottom line is, if you cant get an appointment anywhere else still dont get work done here.

ZERO Stars if it was possible. Avoid at all costs. Pricks broke parts in my car, called me to tell me I needed to replace them, threw them back in the car. Then they told us they ordered one. 2 weeks later? They told us they were having a hard time finding it. One week after? The service manager Aaron is telling me Im a liar and so is my wife. They tried to bait and switch me, didnt fix half the things they were told to. RUN from this hellhole. I could literally go on for days about them. This isnt the half of it. Then they tried to charge me $80 to LOOK at each issue, told me things were wrong that werent according to another shop, tried to overcharge me $400, all the while trying to sell me on tires. Im filing with the Better Business Bureau, have started a chargeback and opened a complaint with their corporate headquarters. If I need a lawyer I will have zero issue at this point. Even their corporate people have told me there have been a myriad of complaints against this store and these people. One of their TECHS told me the part wasnt broken on my car when I brought it in. Their service manager said they had "proof" the proof? The destroyed parts I have them back in their parking lot and then saying they "told me I needed to get the parts fixed and I told them no, they were fine when I brought them in". Yeah, you broke it? Their service manager said "he felt disrespected". You know what? I feel disrespected that my wife still has a broken to pieces car and you called her a liar. And me. You pay for it. I cannot say enough bad things about this month long ordeal and my previous experience buying tires there. RUN. Dont walk, RUN away from these scam artists. P.S. Want to know something funny? Look into the people leaving good reviews. They all either work there or are affiliated in some way. More scumminess from them.

I do not want to go back. I took may car in that was making a squealing noise on Friday night, asked them to figure out what it was. They told me they would look at it that night. Saturday I had to call in to find out what was going on with my car. They said it would be done that night, but that a power steering pump needed to be replaced. Sunday morning rolls around, no word from anyone again. I called in again and was told that they didnt have the part they needed. Apparently NOW a pulley was damaged that was specialized. They were going to try and get the part. Monday: I am still the one who called to find out what was going on. One guy told me the part had been ordered and was supposed to be there that day but to call back when the manager was in. I left my work number for them to call. I called back 2 1/2 hours later and was told I could pay to have the part overnighted and the car would be done Tuesday. Tuesday comes, they overcharged me, my car was still making the same squealing noise as when I took it in. They mentioned on the phone that there was a "small rattle" coming from behind the timing belt. I asked them what it could be they said they didnt know they had only located where the noise was coming from. By Wednesday morning I had had enough. I took the car back to my regular mechanic after being told that the only person who had any clout to do anything about the situation wouldnt be in until Friday. My mechanic found the timing belt bearing problem immediately and had it fixed within a day. He also mentioned that he had never seen that type of pulley be damaged before and he guessed that Pep Boys most likely damaged it when taking the pump out of my car....which all started making sense. This is the worst service ever. I will be back in the shop when I get my fixed car to take this issue up with whoever I have to talk to.
