I always shop at Vitamin Cottage first for the things I want. Dont have to wonder whether its organic or GMO because theyve already done the checking for me. The prices are the best except for King Soopers loss leaders, but if I can throw these folks the business I would much prefer to do it. Its much more friendly, too. People are happier here, vs. trying to get in and out without making eye contact at any of the other places. Far and away my favorite place for groceries. Then, if you have some health concern, the staff is very helpful with things you can try. Theyre not doctors so they cant tell you that something will heal it, but some years back (yuck factor warning!) I did have this runny nose for SIX WEEKS. Coughed all night and day, couldnt sleep, just wasnt getting well. The MD gave me stuff to treat the drainage. No advice or ideas about the source of the issue. Went to Vitamin Cottage, she said "sounds like a fungus", bought oil of oregano and it was gone in two days!!!! Lots of help with additional concerns over the years. This place is a major reason I love Lafayette!

This is my favorite place for produce, hands down. Everything they carry is organic, so theres no need to inspect stickers or labels to make sure youre not buying anything grown with pesticides or harmful fertilizers. Their service is top-notch; Im not sure what the other reviewer is talking about with regard to her experience with "awful service". There can always be hiccups along the way, I guess, but Ive always been treated promptly and courteously. Ive been shopping there since the Lafayette, Colorado store first opened. What a welcome addition to this town. Oh, and their prices are very competitive. Usually much cheaper than the other stores out there. They dont carry fresh meat or seafood, though (I hear thats how they keep prices low as those departments can be expensive for a retail store). They do carry meat, both fresh and frozen, provided by good sources such as Maverick Ranch.

Its nice to go into a store and know that all the produce is USDA organic as per Natural Grocer policy. The quality is normally great. The prices on produce, meats, and dairy are competitive or better than similar brands at competitors. This Lafayette branch is also one of the nicest NG locations Ive been to. I have seen once or twice some employees restocking the produce touch their face then the food--but come on--this has to happen everywhere (hence 4 not 5 stars). The sale rack on "overripe" items often has items that are at their peak or slightly passed. I can usually make something work from that selection.

Ive never had any trouble parking in the ten years Ive been shopping here. Dont know what the one star reviewer was talking about. Nor have I ever had problems with the check out being slow. Its about the same as any other super market. The staff are always helpful and they have great produce. Its all organic so you cant always get everything all the time but thats to be expected with an organic focus. I prefer Vitamin Cottage to Whole Foods or Sunflower. Just a much nicer experience.

This is my second home. I like the fact that I dont have to read the labels there, I know that the buyers go through each product with a fine tooth comb and anything they feel is harmful to the environment, animals, their customers etc. they will not carry. I can pretty much shop with a blindfold-- Love it! Pretty good prices too. The best thing since Trader Joes. I also like that everyone there knows my kids and I and treat us like friends.

Best organic outfit for health conscious consumers. All other options have a mark-up of about .40 cents minimum (Yes, I checked - about 18 months ago). The store really excells when you want to make your own dish. Frozen and ready made isnt really their style (b/c again, "health conscious consumers"), but they do have some yummy options. If youre looking for a healthy and affordable option, and a knowledgeable staff, this is hands down the place.

Great for its convenience and selection. Its got better prices than Whole Paycheck, but the items you want are so great that they arent really a bargain to begin with... So I find that when I come here I better mentally prepare for a significant drop on the budget! Great vitamin selection, all organic food. Be sure to bring your bag tho... They dont have any to share (which I love about them).

The atmosphere feels great. Produce is fresh. People who work there very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Had previously been shopping at another grocery store close by because I got it in my head it was less expensive but on top of all the other great things about natural grocers it turned out to be less expensive too.

I love shopping at Vitamin Cottage. Their new remodel is great. I know they only stock organic produce and the best quality possible on most all of the items in the store. Parking has always been great and check out is fast and friendly. Always my #1 go to for food and vitamins.
