This is place is fantastic!! I am very impressed with the staff. I had an incident last Friday with my puppy who was waiting for his puppy class to start. A customer brought her boston terrier up to my rather large 10 month old puppy. I advised the lady to not bring her dog to close as he is a puppy and likes to be a puppy and that he likes to jump. She refused to listen to me as she continued to approach us with her dog. Her dog walked up to my dog and bit him in the face which caused him to yelp, she just stood there and let her dog do it again. Needless to say we get him into class to realize he is bleeding and has 2 separate lacerations. I have to say when we notified "Jenni" who is the perfect trainer for my puppy and my family, (I totally love her BTW if you are looking for a puppy trainer) anyway Jenni and the Store Manager jumped all over it when they were notified of the situation and right away they told me I needed to get my puppy to the emergency vet to have him checked out to prevent infection and make sure there was not any other care needed. They got on the phone and advised the vet we were coming over and that they were taking care of the bill. They advised me that class would have to be skipped and that we could make it up at the end of the 6 weeks. Right before we left they expressed deep concern for my puppies well being and they were very adament that we call them after we leave the vet to let them know how things went. I have to say it is very stand up to be concerned for myt puppy but I also think it is amazing that they want to provide a safe environment for peoples pets and if an injury occurs they will send you to a vet and take care of the bill, also I think it is very stand up that they I was able to reach them after hours at the store since they were waiting for my call and the deep care and concern I got from them was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Jenni and the Store Manager both advised me at that time that if some type of issue comes up later ie: infection etc... to contact them and they will cover the cost of that as well. All in all I have never had anexperience like this with an animal before and I must say they took care of business and it is much appreciated. Thanks Again "Harleys Mom

I went to Petco for the vaccine clinic they had which I loved. However, we have a very hyper dog and weve tried everything the only thing that keeps her under control in public is a pinch collar. The girl at the check out said "You should really use a harness instead of a pinch collar" in a condesending tone then proceeded to explain that her dog became more anxious with a pinch collar and would injure itself. Thats great for her, but not all dogs are alike. Our trainer recommended we use a pinch collar because our dog doesnt respond to anything else, and it allows us to take her in public without her jumping on everyone or ripping the leash out of our hands. I know how to use it properly, and she knows that if she doesnt pull, there is no pressure. Being judged and lectured on my choice of collar for my dog when I didnt ask for her opinion really rubbed me the wrong way and gave me a bad feeling about the entire store. I will definitely be going to a different clinic next time.

Every time I buy fish from here they died within a week. I am a fairly experienced fish keeper and I have had thriving tanks for about 5 years. The first fish I got here was so sick it killed off 9 of my previously healthy fish overnight. Upon returning the dead fish one of the employees asked me what I did to kill it. I felt extremely guilty for killing an entire tank of fish and was sure I had done something wrong so, I gave them another try. After 5 months of frequent water changes and running my tank without any fish I got 3 fish to try to start the restocking process but, once again I awoke to dead fish. On top of this every time I go in for cat supplies they are never stuck with what I need. I have a specific litter box that takes pellet litter and changing pads. Although this Petco is down the street from my home it is so much more convenient for me to drive 20 minutes to the PetSmart in Arvada that always has what Im looking for.

My boyfriend and I adopted our new kitten (Jamie, whom we named Serenity since shed been a stray) about a week or two ago. We went in prior to that to ask about their adoptions and speak to some of the employees about them. Id like to specifically name and thank James for helping us with the adoption process and with finding things for our kitten. He provided us with a booklet of coupons for food, litter, toys, etc., and was incredibly helpful and patient with us for the entire process. Id also like to thank Chera Kee who helped me find some cat food for our kitten - Id researched the best/healthiest/safest brands for cats and when she saw me looking pointed a couple that had been right at the top of the list without hesitation and then explained to me why those were better than some other brands. Her knowledge and care for animals is appreciated. The employees here are very friendly and care about the animals they work with.

The marine section of the Broomfield PetCo store leave much to be wanted. Several of their Salt Water tanks had dead fish in them which they were still selling the live fish out of; instead of quarantining the aquarium(s). I have had luck with the hardier fish from them, but you can forget keeping sensitive fish and specially invertebrates alive for long if you buy them here. I highly suggest checking out the other local LFS (Elite Reef by 88th and Wadsworth or Liquid Kingdom by 120th and Main or even the Westminster PetCo) What they may lack in customer service is made up by the QUALITY of their Marine Life. *NOTE PetCo has DOES NOT have a 14 day guarantee on their Marin Life, but their on-line store does, if you want to pay for the shipping.

Rude! Rude! Rude! Do not shop here. I called to see if they had an item in stock that I have purchased from this store less than a month ago. I was greeted with a more than conspicuous attitude like I was an inconvenience and not a customer. When I asked if the item was in stock I was treated like I asked for a unicorn and told they never carried the item. I thought for a second and checked the store number on my receipt and decided to go anyway. It was in stock. I bought it cause I needed a match stand for my second tank. However, this will be the last thing I ever buy from this store.

Expired products and poor customer service at check out. On Friday 10-21-16 went to this store to purchase wormer for my dog and cats. I didnt notice the expiration date of January 2016 until I got home. Tonight I go to purchase dog and cat food, get to the check out and Corin was rather inconvenienced that I didnt have my rewards card with me and when trying the phone number it didnt work suggested by last name and no effort to do so. So I paid (without getting a discount) and left. I will be searching for another store/company that has good customer service and up to date product.
