A few years ago I went into Best Buy to buy a laptop I told the salesman I needed one that could run Avid(an editing program) so I purchased the one he recommended. I got the laptop home installed Avid and the graphics card couldnt keep up with the program... I took it back to Best Buy and they told me that it would be a $200 restocking fee if I wanted to exchange the laptop. I asked to talk to a manager and after much arguing he said if I bought a more expensive laptop he would waive the $200 stocking fee. I purchase the laptop and took it home and noticed they had charged me the restocking fee, I didnt notice The restocking fee in the store because on the return receipt I had purchased several items and It got lost in the shuffle so to speak. I didnt step foot into another Best Buy until a few days ago where I was just went in to browse and they had another laptop on sale that was too good to pass up... I had the laptop for about 4 days and I noticed it was running really hot. I called Acer tech-support line and they agreed it was running hot and to exchange it. I went back to Best Buy to do an exchange receipt in hand. They told me that because I paid with cash if I wanted to exchange the laptop I would have to give them my license where they would enter the information into their computer. I argued with the manager for a bit and she told me that the policy is printed on the back of my receipt. So nobody tells me about this before I purchase and once I purchase the item only then do I get the policy after the transaction is complete. Best Buy has no business entering my license information into their computer. What they do is they create these databases and then sell your information to other companies. Moral of the story dont shop at Best Buy!

Excellent service. The staff genuinely care about customers. They are knowledgeable on their products. I felt like I was speaking with a professional who studied the product and also had experience. I went here a couple days before fathers day to look at digital cameras for a gift. The cameras have all gotten so small and produce such quality photos and there are so many I was overwhelmed with the number of choices and thought I might choose the wrong one. The gentleman who assisted me clearly explained the basic differences between all the cameras and how they compare to smartphone cameras. My fear immediately dissolved and I felt like I was equipped with the right information to make the best decision for my needs. The gentleman answered some questions I had about small details, for example megapixels and storage space and within 30 minutes I decided which one to buy. The camera works and the extended warranty that I purchased ensures that he will have a functioning camera for many years even if he drops it and breaks it. The quality of the product and the staff made it easy to make a knowledgeable purchase.

I normally dont write reviews online, especially for chains but this store definitely went out of their way to help me. I live in Northern California and came in from out of town. As I was using my laptop at the airport, my charger stopped working. I tried to use some quick fixes by slicing the cord but that only lasted for about an hour. I brought a working laptop with me because I dont want my other laptop stolen or broken while traveling. I called in to this Best Buy before going in and asked if they sold the cord I needed. I had no idea what brand my working laptop was so I sounded really stupid over the phone. They were still really polite and encouraged to me come in. I brought my spliced charger (looking like an idiot) and they were incredibly understanding and helpful. They made the situation lighthearted by making fun of my charger. :-) They were able to price match the charger from a competitor, which was great since I was on a traveling budget. Thanks guys, appreciate your help this weekend!

We went here to get a tablet, it was my Mothers Day gift. We had a really friendly sales associate come up to us and ask if we needed help. It was such a nice change, usually you have to hunt down an associate for help at other stores! I didnt want to get an expensive tablet, I mainly wanted it to use for e-books, maybe surfing the web. The sales associate didnt try to pressure us into buying a more expensive one. He actually helped us pick out one to meet our needs, it was actually on sale and below the budget we were expecting to pay! The associate was the one to point it out to us, explaining all of the features and was extremely knowledgeable. I love it when a business employs associates that are actually there to really help customers, not try to pressure them into breaking their budget or getting a product they dont need; its refreshing and guarantees I will be back to give them more of my business. We ended up saving money, getting a great product and having a great experience. Ill be back!

Best Buy is getting better and better through the years. It such a great experience every time I buy something from best buy or send a Gift card. its simple, everybody is smiling everybody is helpful and the staff is so nice. Last time I went there, the employee wasnt the one that could best help me with what I was looking for. I was looking for a house warming gift for a good friend that I was invited to his home. The Employee did a small thing yet so brilliant in how to welcome the customers. The employee walked me all the way to other end of the store, which I though it was nice of her, but the best thing was that she was talking to me about hows my day going and how long did you know this friend, was he in college with you etc until we reached our destination and she said " This is Charles,he will assist today, thank you for being a best buy customer. That little effort made my day, I felt important and will gladly shop only at best buy in the futur.

If I were a secret shopper this location would fail. I brought my computer in because I spilled water. The guy told me I fried the hard drive. I went home and tried turning it on later and it worked. I dont think the guy knew what he was doing. (Side note - I turned my computer off right away and let it sit for a couple days). While I was waiting for the Geek Squad guy to look at my computer I wandered around. I was looking for something in the tv section and the sales person who was helping me was sucking on a lollipop while he was talking to me. Very unprofessional. He also couldnt answer a simple question. Then, I went to the computer area and was looking for a computer stand to put on my desk. The sales person didnt understand what that meant. I spelled it out for him and he was very confused. Im not sure how this store trains their employees, but you need to do a better job. Im going to a different Best Buy next time I need something.
