This place is absolutely wonderful. I shop here frequently and would encourage others to do so, please keep the local hardware store alive! I have had nothing but stellar customer service every single time. It feels like such a rarity to go to a place where youre asked if you can be helped and the staff seems to know where things are or how to order them in the event that they dont have it. Are the prices above what you might pay at OSH or Home Depot, but only nominally and that is a-okay with me as this store has a dedication to serving its customers that could rival or even beat places like Nordstrom. Every time you find yourself feeling lost at a big box store and that the employees seem to actively be avoiding you, please go and take a look at Hassett as I guarantee you that youll be back when you need something. I also find the location great as I live in downtown San Mateo and its a nice walk to the store, instead of having to use a car to get to any other hardware store.

this is the best hardware store ever. period. it was bought out by ace, but it remains in control of the wisnoms family. its my go to place for anything. I can walk in with a tiny obscure screw, ask if they have it, and boom. most of the employees have been there for a long time, and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. plus, they have cookies for dogs. I have no idea who the other reviewers are that say the help is terrible, etc. have never had anything but great service. look for john- he knows everything again- BEST. HARDWARE. STOER.EVER.

Found everything I need easy in the well organized compact space with helpful store staff. No need to run around, just enjoyed shopping. Great selection of products sold as a piece at reasonable price. I like it very much as I hate to buy unnecessary things sold by bulk.

The service here rivals any big box store. Prices can be competitive and the variety of products make this Ace a great place to shop at. Parking can be a challenge due to the location and small lot, but that said, Ive never had too much difficulty finding a space.

This place sucks. dont wast your time here. The employees there dont know what customer service is.. iI guess it not The owners fault. Cant find good help these days.

I went to Home Depot two different times to have a key duplicated and both didnt work. I went into Ace and five minutes later I had two working keys! Thanks guys!
