I came here in May 2015 interested to purchase a new 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid. I have excellent credit and have purchased 3 vehicles in the past, never late with my payments. Therefore, I always try to negotiate the best deal possible. We negotiated back and forth and I was getting close to the price I wanted to pay for the car. I made a few phone calls in between negotiations mostly to one of my relatives who purchased a similar Pathfinder and I wanted to know how satisfied he was with his vehicle and at what price/payment plan did he get it. However, Hossam Hussein who goes by the name of "Sam" was getting upset saying I was being so difficult and "unprofessional". He didnt like the idea that I was making phone calls. After reading the previous reviews I see that they are used to ripping people off. I was getting ready to sign when I received a call from a relative; I stepped away from the table to take the call. My sister stayed at the table and heard Sam demanding his assistant to get me off the phone. His assistant was great by the way; I believe his name was Carlos. Sam got very upset and was pushing Carlos to make me sign the contract. Then Sam comes towards me and starts throwing a tantrum!!! He starts telling me how unprofessional I am and how he cannot negotiate with a person like me. He then says "I was going to leave the car payment at $365 a month but know its too late! I cannot make business with you!" Wait a minute, Im the customer and you are the employee. Sam you were the one screaming in the middle of the floor at YOUR workplace with many customers around listening to you being upset, and why? Because I took a phone call? The price I was negotiating was a payment of $380.00 a month with a $10,000 down payment. We were at $419.00 and would have taken the vehicle at $400.00 a month just because it was late, it was Sunday night and my kids needed to go to bed. Never in my 14 years of negotiating with a car salesman has anyone gotten upset because I made or took a phone call in the middle of negotiations. Thats what customers supposed to do, compare prices to make sure you are getting the best deal for your buck! I told Sam that I was going to buy the vehicle from the dealer that gives me the best deal. Sam says "there is no best deal, just tell me what you want to pay." So I tell him I want to pay $380 a month and then he says "we cant do that" so I tell him "well tell me what is the best price you can give me" and again he raises his voice and says "there is no best price!". His tone was unacceptable. Most car salesmen are polite to try to gain your business. This guy is rude, has bad customer service skills, and is very UNPROFESSIONAL . Sams supervisor came out to talk to me and told me "you have to understand, they get paid by commission." Just because they get paid by commission doesnt mean they have to take advantage of their customers and rip them off. Earlier during negotiations Sam was bragging about how he just sold an Altima for $639/month to a poor father with bad credit. He was trying to convenience me that I was getting a good price. Therefore, if the car salesmen dont feel sorry for us, why should we feel sorry for them? I also got a feeling that he did not like negotiating with women since he kept addressing my husband during negotiations when he clearly knew that I was the buyer not my husband. I dont know if all salesmen here are as rude as Sam, but I give them Zero stars because of him. I took my money and purchased a nice vehicle from a really nice salesman at another dealer. Im so glad I didnt purchase from Universal City Nissan. Big Boy stop sending us here!!! F/34/L.A.

If I could give them a negative star, I would! Very deceptive selling practices! I went in 4/22/16 to get a replacement vehicle for a Honda Insight, hybrid, that got over 50 mpg hwy, over 43 mpg city. After talking to Lawrance Ayoub on the telephone before going in I told him that I had no money to put down, that I needed a vehicle with comparable mpg as my Insight. He said he could get me into a car no problem, with no money down. Went to dealership and looked at a Nissan Altima, but he ended up saying I needed to put money down, to which I responded that I dont have any money to put down so we dont have a deal, as I told you over the phone, and again when I arrived at the dealership. Mr. Ayoub asked me about getting an electric car. I told him I knew nothing about electric cars. He shows me a Nissan Leaf which on the sticker advertised 108 mpg equivalent hwy, and 124 mpg equivalent city. He proceeds to dangle the carrot in front of me about; never having to put gas in the car, no smog checks or oil changes, that the federal government would give the dealership $9,600.00 to them which I could use for a down payment, and the state of California would give me $2,500.00 because it is an electric car. Mr. Ayoub never gave me full disclosure about the daily requirements of owning an electric car which are as follows; you cannot charge your vehicle overnight if you live in an apartment, that depending on how hot or cold the weather is, your vehicle will only get between 60-87 miles with a full charge. You are only allowed to charge your car with a super charger once a day because it can ruin your battery and that it takes between 30 minutes to an hour to charge the vehicle. after going 60-87 miles in a day (I many times drive more than that in a day), I would have to use a "slow charger" which takes 2-4 hours to become fully recharged! You who are reading this review dont know me, but, do you think that had I known this, that I would trade in a vehicle that I could drive for at least 350 miles before having to fill up in 15 minutes time maximum, for a vehicle that I would have to charge every 60-87 miles or so, and take anywhere between 2-4 hours after the initial charge so I could carry on with my work day? I had to miss mt grandsons high school graduation, because of the amount of times I would need to charge, coupled with the needing to spend 2-4 hours to charge my vehicle, so that I could complete the minimum 160 mile round trip that it would take! I have missed doctor appointments because I didnt have enough time to charge my car ahead of time. The general manager, several sales/finance managers and salesmen have all said this was wrong, yet Universal City Nissan will not do the right thing and let me out of this lease!

I went to different Nissan dealers because they all said they could help me get a new car, but Universal City Nissan Was the worse of them all, I talked to Liza and Alfred and they both were sure I was gonna come out of there with a new wheels, they knew my situation and I told them I didnt want to drive all the way over there an 1:30 drive with traffic and they still assure me I was gonna get it and if not that my job was my credit, so there I go with my family, I had an appoinment with Liza and Alfred and when I got there I still waited another 30 minutes for them to show up which neither of them did, so a different sales person "helped" me again I told him the same thing I explained him my situation again so I drove the car that I wanted they run my credit, we didnt even get to the numbers when Daniel and Lawrence to be exact told me I couldnt get a car unless I had a cosigner, so I got really pissed off and told them why LIE TO PEOPLE THE WAY THEY DO THAT THEY ARE GOING TO HELP WHEN THEY REALLY DONT, well the point is I went there wasted 4 more hours of my time, came out empty handed got there at 7 pm got home at 11pm, "YOUR JOB IS YOUR CREDIT IS BULLSHIT" DONT GO THERE ALL THEY DO IS WAIST YOUR VALUABLE TIME AND USE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, AGAIN DO NOT GO THERE THEY WONT HELP YOU, THEY WONT EVEN TRY TO DO ANYTHING REMEMBER THE NAMES, LIZA, ALFRED, DANIEL AND LAWRENCE, AND EVEN THE ONES THAT WORK THERE THEY ARE ALL GONNA SAY THEY COULD HELP YOU BUT TRUST ME THEY WONT, JUST A HEADS UP FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE WILLING TO BUY A CAR, THEY ARE JUST BULLSHIT AND USE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
