So. I had lived in IB for a long time and never really paid much attention to this little donut shop. Then, I noticed it. And then, I noticed it was never open when I drove by. Then, I stopped and read the signage. There was this snarky sign posted that had the hours listed as something like "whenever I feel like it" and I was intrigued. So days went by... weeks went by... a month went by... started to lose hope. Then I gave up, went home and never ate a donut again and cried. KIDDING! This story has a happy ending, kids! And that happy ending is, I was driving to work and was SUPER EXCITED when I saw the sign said OPEN! I pulled up... ordered a maple bar, cinnamon roll, and classic glazed... and was sold after a bite of each! I saved them and took them home for my boyfriend to try like a sacred prize and he thought they were great, even after sitting around all day. Funny enough, we ran into the shop being open 2-3 times after this, and we got fresh donuts a few times, and they were always great. The baker/ owner is quirky and seems a little angry, but he reminded me of my Dad, so I knew he probably was a happy guy underneath. If not, he was still cool, and makes some awesome donuts. If you see the OPEN sign up, be sure to swing by!

I love donuts but the guy who owns it is very rude I told him oh ur open he goes yeah cant u ready god damn sign n my kids were right next to me I was almost not gonna buy any donuts but my kids n at that he over charge me $5 for 3 doubts. plus he opens late n closes early make no since plus he dont have a variety of doughnuts to choose from and that hes not always open like he says he is I rather go to Yum Yum Donuts any day..

I stopped there years ago having no idea what to expect. Middle of the day. 2 guys were still making donuts. I asked them what was best. They told me whatever they just made. I had one. My brother in law had one. It was so good, we made a U-turn and went back to get another one. I have never forgotten this place and recommend it to everyone going anywhere near it.

No bells or whistles, but DANNNNG the donuts are delicious! Glazed, Cinnamon Rolls, Old Fashion, Maple Bar, Apple Fritter w Caramel and I LOVE the Pecan Roll with Caramel. Posted hours are 8:30am to 1:30pm Closed Sun and Mon, but have heard it is not consistent.

I waited and waited to find this place open. The one day I saw it opened I pulled in and ordered four donuts. The donut nazi then told me he wouldnt take a $20. Bring small bills. Ive still yet to have a donut from this shack.

Best doughnuts ever !!!! Ive been coming to IB since I was little and this has been my favorite thing too look forward 2 !!! Cinnamon rolls are amazing . Very local place

When they are open, which isnt too consistent, the donuts are awesome! If I drive by and see them open I stop and get some. They make the best tasting donuts in San Diego!

Cinnamon rolls are among the best in the state. Only negative is the hours of operation, they open at approx. 10:00 am and close when sold out. Whenever that is!

Its beyond awesome to have the ability to see my great-grandfathers donuts shop still open and be able to visit it on Google earth. Hope to stop in soon :)

horrible service and unpredictable in opening hours, BUT their donuts are fantastic and they melt in your mouth. you must try the cinnamon rolls
