I concur with many of the other reviews. It is well-organized with a quality selection of books, however, I will never shop there again. The complaints about workers being "too busy" and "refusing service" is something I have seen before, but never encountered, until today. I have been to the Book Shop many times before and purchased hundreds of dollars of books over the years. I usually stop on my way home from work in my teaching attire, but today I had the day off and was wearing jeans and hiking boots. The "elitist attitude" mentioned in other comments reared its ugly head. I had twisted my ankle earlier that day and could not lug around the books I had selected and intended to purchase, so I just set them down on their sides and kept browsing. The clerk shouted at me from across the store, incensed that I had laid them down and not brought them up to the counter. He lectured me about how long it took him to put the books in alphabetical order, even after I told him that I had intended to make a purchase that day. He continued with his tirade, ruder than any clerk I have personally encountered in any store. I can but assume that if I had been wearing slacks and a button-down long sleeve dress shirt, things would have been fine as they always have been in the past, but the limping jean wearing, hiking boot shod, old man, who set "the books on their sides" (a cryptic phrase he emphasized again and again) was too much for him.

Elitist jerks. The first thought that comes to my mind when I think of my experience at The Book Shop. Went in seeking information regarding some antique books, an everyday task for an antique book seller you would think. However, their knowledge of classic literature must be either zero or they just felt like driving away business. A typical small business will do everything they can to gain new customers and business, but The Book Shop attempts to drive away business by refusing service and having a poor, elitist attitude. Go on eBay, prices and customer service better. LOL.

They were Very unhelpful. I came in to ask a question about an old book I found and the two people at the front desk refused to give me any information because they were too busy. They obviously had no business and had nothing to do as they were just sitting there listening to classical music. I highly recommend taking your business somewhere else.

What a great place to spend time. I could spend hours looking at all the unique and diverse books. Its well-organized and the owners and both knowledgeable and friendly. Books are very reasonably priced. Check out the bargain carts. Great gift, a favorite book signed by the author. Wow.

Plus, the store Book Shop a Book Shop. Thats something Ive never encountered in any used bookstore anywhere. I was going to only buy two books, but the owner specifically Book Shop that I take advantage of the deal, and of Book Shop I did. I may be a fool, but Im not a total idiot!

Love independent boom store for staff and cult books. Awesome little Shop with a good collection and range but staff is superior room sketchy watching your every move and being uncourteous with service. Didnt look me in the eye once.

Its a good bookstore. I think people complain about customer service because they crave pampering but if you are self-sufficient and capable then there is no reason you wont enjoy this bookstore.
