I hate to send this email but I want to let you know. But I have to stop this nonsense. I had an unpleasent experience at Michaels art and craft store in Westlake Village. Its a great community place these type of incidents are not healthy for the community. I was planning to return a singer sewing machine and the store manager in charge "Myra" did not accept this $20 product though.... - I had bought it less than 60days - I had the original receipt - original item in the box and accessories in the plastic bag. - To top it, the item wasnt working the way it should. - I was ok with Store credit and she refused that either. This was a suprise gift for my daughter and this didnt work as expected. That is the reason why I was returning. But Refusing to accept because I had opened the BOX ?? Hello !!! , how am I supposed to return without checking the product ?? She said since I had opened I cannot return. She was on an ego trip or having a bad day. She insulted me in front of other customers and told me that I cannot return the item. This is outrageous and the Owner of this store needs to take serious action.For other customers are not treated the same way in the decent community....

I love to scrapbook and I generally go to Michaels because its so big. But the shelves are always empty the staff must be asleep in the back room. They are so rude if you ask any questions. So I checked out a local scrapbook store called Treaured Memories in Oak Park. Its 2 minutes from the Michaels store, just down Lindero Canyon (612 Lindero) next to Pollo Loco and I was amazed!! If you love Scrapbooking, paper crafts, party invitaions, Mixed media art the store is fantastic, the sales people were so helpful they even offered me a cold cup of water on a hot August day! Wow what a difference. I will never go the Michaels again!!

John in the framing department is so nice and very knowledgeable! Professional is an understatement. He went to great lengths to help me with a rare piece of basketball memorabilia to frame it properly so it will stay preserved. I have had many things framed at the Fallbrook location in Woodland Hills as well. Ive had great experiences in both locations. And not to mention.. The coupons ate GREAT!!!

Worst customer service! Always so rude and short and act as if they are being put out! I got an amazon prime memebership just so I wouldnt have to go in anymore! Joanns and Treasured Memories are much better options!

The Westlake Village Michaels has a great framing department. I have had them custom frame a few pieces of artwork and have been pleased with the results every time. They are very professional and helpful.

I think its unfair to say this is a terrible store, just like its unfair to say scrapbooking is the only crafting genre. They seem a little understaffed and undersupplied, but eager to help when they can.
