I had a pretty below average on my last couple visits to Sears. First, the cashiers told me I needed to have a rewards account to check out, so of course I did it. But then, every other time I checked out they kept asking me if I wanted to add my home address, or my birthday. I thought the pestering would end there! They also asked me twice during one checkout if I wanted to sign up for their MasterCard, because its "so easy and I only need to see an ID". I thought it was ridiculous how many times they kept asking me to sign up for these programs, pressing me multiple times even after I said no. In addition, it took me forever to even find a place to check out! I often would find staff standing and talking, while both customer service centers had all 4 registers shut down. I saw other people wandering aimlessly as well, looking for an open register or even a staff member to ask. Also, many of the tags on the sale products did not list the actual price of the merchandise. While this ended up working in my favor in this particular scenario (I got my items cheaper than I expected), Im sure that there are other tags that underestimate the real price as well. I also have had problems with buying items on Sears website. Over the holidays I was buying sale items that said they were in stock, but when you add them to the cart, you wouldnt be able to purchase your items. I was so confused, so I called Customer Service, and to paraphrase what they said, they basically said that sometimes items arent actually available when they say they are because the website cant keep up with the sales, and when that happens you cant purchase your items in the cart. He said I basically had to take things in and out of the cart to figure out which one is out of stock, then purchase all the others. Well, it was really inefficient but it ended up working. Overall, what I have to say about Sears is that the service is terrible in every way possible, but I give them 2 stars because I do really like their merchandise.

My husband and I purchased a treadmill from the eastside Sears and after less than a year the treadmill is not working. When we purchased the treadmill I even asked the salesman if it was a "runners" treadmill and he assured me that it was. However, I have realized that this treadmill was simply for walking and my running on it every night has caused damage. We needed service and when we called it went to a call center. My husband was transfered 5 times and on the 4th time the man changed out info so by the time we got the the 5th person they stated "We cant help you because it takes our system 24-48 hours to update after a information change has been made" therefore, my husband and I werent even able to schedule a repair man to come to our home. Not to mention they quoated us a charge of $97.00 just to respond to the service call. These people are horrible and care about nothing but money. Their name is crap in my family and Sears is the worst place to purchase expense equipment. At least 3 of my family members have had similar experiences with Sears. Neadless to say we will not be purchasing from Sears and will be telling warning our family and friends about them aswell.

The cashiers are incredibly pushy about the rewards card. They made it sound like it was mandatory to check out and kept trying to force my mom and me to sign up. They would not take no for an answer. The cashiers supervisor (Missy, shes very rude and pushy) tried to get me to give my phone number by saying "you look like youre in our system, let me check for you!" I get that its the end of the month and they have a quota, but I should not have to say no more than twice. Even saying "Im not interested" did not get her to give up. It took another 3 minutes to convince her that we didnt want their credit card. Dont go here unless you have an extra 10 minutes to argue with Missy. I spent longer checking out than looking for the things I needed. Never going back.

If you are anything other than white, you probably should not go here. My boyfriend (Hispanic) and I (multi-racial) were astonished when neither one of the employees would make eye contact, and they refused to help us until we went up to the front desk. There was no one else in the store. We were told they were closed when it was 4:45pm and the sign outside said 5:00pm. We were sent away, only to see another Caucasian gentleman go in and get the star treatment....SAD!

If you need something buy it on their website. Seleciton is not very good. I was looking for a counter microwave, I get to the store and they have 2. On the web they had over 20. I was also looking for a tool kit, again not much of a selection. On the web over 50 different tool kits. I will not be visiting the store anymore. The web maybe.

They dont advertise their limited repair services. I was told by the national sears office to get my snow thrower repaired here, but when I showed up I was told they dont repair snow throwers or lawn mowers any longer. Frustrating.

Terrible customer service. Waited on hold until i got their messaging machine, any other number routed me around the world which ended up routing me back to them and a machine to leave a message. HORRIBLE tried multiple times.
