Food lion is one of my favorite stores and I was disappointed when most of them closed. I thought I was lucky enough to still live near two stores until I went in this one. The prices are great, the store is relatively clean and well stocked, and MOST of the people working there are nice. However, I question my safety here. On my last visit there were cops diffusing a situation in the parking lot, people driving through the parking lot wrecklessly and the security guard was downright creepy. He looked like more of a criminal than someone there for my protection. I watched him stare down the young girl next to me in line until she was out the door. It made me feel so uncomfortable that I havent returned to that store in two months.

This used to be a great store in many ways, but some months ago, there was a wholesale change in management and staff and it is now one of the worst stores around. If someone isnt forgetting to order milk (again!)--and this has nothing to do with runs due to weather--then the check-out lines are slow and long. There are two exceptions to the lousy cashiers, both of whom were with the store under prior management. It has gotten so bad that I now drive 20 miles round trip to shop elsewhere.

When i lived in wichester all the food lions became shop and save. I hated them and even had to shop at walmart. But inwood still has food lion! I was so excited. And its always busy but they handle it well. They are always friendly. The only complaint is that the young kids seem to pay more attention to each other. But they are young still. So to be expected.

People are so nice in the Eastern Panhandle. I always feel welcome but I miss the food lion being in Hedgesville. Now Hedgesville has a Shop N Save that is just as nice I am satisfied again. I get awesome deals at both places but I prefer the less rushed Hedgesville location for my grocery shopping.

If you can avoid shopping here do so. Many of the items are expired and the produce is never up to par. This is very close to my home but because of the quality I go to the next city to shop. The only reason this got 2 stars is because the staff is very friendly

I hate food lion. They dont have anything, I drive 20 minutes out of my way to go shopping elsewhere and food lion is like 5 minutes from me. The only good thing about it is the nice lady at the deli. There is so little variety its insane.

The cashiers could be friendlier. The store could be cleaner. Its a good store to stop in for a few items, but I dont like to spend a lot of time in here because typical customers at this store tend to be inconsiderate.

The store itself is clean and neat and the employees are friendly. Many times there are long lines with few registers open. Major drawback is that it is horrible to get out of and turn left to head back into town.
