You can never go wrong with a local bookshop. The Vashon Bookshop, a presence on the islands main strip of shops for many years now, is no exception to the point. The first word that comes to mind when entering is "Cute" because of how the shelves and spacing are made up to give the shopper the sense of getting lost within the words that shape all of the walls around it. There is even seating inside so that, for anyone who just cant wait to dive into the latest book of their choice, they can enjoy a quiet atmosphere with the friendly staff. To top it off, the bookshop itself has an open door into the little cafe Anu Rana next door from within, giving the shopper the opportunity to move over next door with there purchase and have a wonderful lunch. If the book of your desires is not present, the shop is willing to go out of its way to order it for you and keep you posted on the results! Not many places will do that for you anymore and its great to see this kind of service alive and well here on Vashon.
