I purchased an Amana microwave (model AMV1150VAS) from Appliance Clinic on 3/22/2014. On 4/12/15, it stopped cooking (no heat at all) -- just three weeks after the manufacturers one-year limited warranty expired. First, I emailed Amana customer service to respectfully request a three-week grace period on their warranty - no reply. Second, I called Amana. They were very courteous, but would not cover the appliance three weeks out of warranty. A company that builds their products to last only a little over a year (just outside their warranty period) will never get my business again! Then, I called Appliance clinic because I have a 10-year warranty from them. They said their warranty covers only the cost of a single part -- the magnetron and does not cover the cost of labor. They said it would cost over $100 to have a technician come diagnose the problem. When I complained, the person at appliance clinic said they would email the manufacturer to see if they could get them to bend on covering my microwave, but I never heard back from appliance clinic. Im not saying anything against their repair competence, but Id never again buy a product from them. Given the short durations this microwave functioned, Im amazed that neither the manufacturer nor Appliance Clinic were willing to help me out. Lessons learned: 1) Dont purchase Amana products. 2) Dont purchase products from Appliance Clinic. Update: From Home Depot, I purchased the GE JVM3160RFSS microwave for $249 to replace the faulty Amana I purchased from Appliance Clinic. I also purchased a 5-year protection plan that covers all parts and labor for $60.

You want to spend double to triple the cost of a part? And also receive service that is so subpar, its shocking? Yeah, go here. Called to get a part quote. Told me they had it in stock and would put it under my name. I asked for the part number so I could call around and price check. They refused to give it to me, because, and I quote," its company policy, we cant give you the part number because of the work we put in" I said," what work?" He said," the work to search the product" he told me to go search it myself. We were on the phone for less than a minute. I was 95 percent sure I was going to purchase it from them anyways. Unless I found it locally for way less, they are two miles from my home. They lost a customer for life because they are super shady and wont give me a part number over the phone so I would be less likely to find the correct part by myself and have to go through them anyway? Wtf is that kind of business? Its absolutely gross. We were on the phone for less than a minute. So I guess that HARD WORK is worth acting shady about a product because you dont want people to find out they can purchase it for 15.00 elsewhere when they are selling it for 34.00? Whatever. The RIGHT way to do this would have been to give me the part number so I could have researched it correctly, and then say something like, we may be more expensive but thats because we are a brick and mortar store, but the benefit of coming in is that we would be more than happy to give you some great self install tips to make sure you do it safely and correctly. Cant wait to see you in the store!

I called the appliance clinic and asked why my Range wasnt working. They instructed me to bring the heating element in to be tested. I did that and they said it was fine. I said the manufacturer told us to replace the element. The appliance clinic employee said that the element wasnt the issue. They needed to come out and take a look at the range. So I had them come to my house for a $95 service call and diagnostic on what was wrong. They came to my house and looked at the range and said it was my element! The same element that THEY had me bring in to be tested and THEY said was fine! I requested to speak with the manager who said he had no authority to negotiate the service call fee. I even offered to pay half the fee and they wouldnt even budge! They made an error here telling us our element was fine and then once they received there $95 fee, the element magically needed to be replaced. I have asked multiple times to speak with the owner, who will NOT call and discuss the unethical practices of his employees and business. The owner went so far as to go to my bank and cash the check we gave him and state that we were "shady" people to the bank teller. This business is being reported to the better business bureau and will be held accountable for their unethical practices! DO NOT for any reason use this business! There are plenty other choices in Vancouver who use ethical business practices.

So my GE refrigerator is less than five years old. It recently started acting up, wouldnt stay as cool as its suppose to be. Called Appliance Clinic, a lovely man named Marlin came out the next day. They were very accommodating on coming over within a time frame that worked for me. Through this whole process they have had wonderful customer service and professionalism. Marlin explained my problem, was fair in his solutions and honest with his opinion. My ice machine was double filling which resulted in my fan freezing and was no longer doing its job. The cheapest solution was to replace my ice machine and let it thaw out for a day. In hopes the fan would start working again. So thats what I did. $279, and a day and a half of thawing out it and another day to cool it back down my fridge still wasnt at proper tempature. Gave it another week and fiddled with the temp buttons. It just isnt working. So instead of paying a few hundred dollars for labor and a new fan I decided to buy a new fridge. So I called appliance clinic in hopes of returning my ice machine. It has a year warranty and all too. So the women on the phone said I couldnt return it because they didnt sell used parts. I asked about the warranty and if it was transferable. It is not. So Im giving this place 3 stars because I still have a problem and I cant even get some of my money back. But they were nice in their response.

Awful, rotten, do yourself a favor and choose someone else. I called the second week in May, Mike came out and said I need two electronic units. One for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher and one for the Frigidaire stove had to be ordered. I paid $267.16 for the stove since it was older and the dishwasher was 2006 and might still be under warrantee, no money was given. So I called for three weeks to find out where were my parts to three unsympathetic adults. Finally on the third call they were finally going get installed. Today, Mike arrives with the parts for the dishwasher but not the stove (thought someone else had installed parts). So the short story is that I refuse to pay for the dishwasher part since they already had my check and told them to cancel stove part (which was still at the factory). Mike walked out with dishwasher part and said no money=no parts and installation. I did talk to the office and they young lady said they would refund the $267.14. Tough luck with one month of two major non-functioning appliances.
