Between Petsmart and Petco you will not only find more fish at Petco but there generally on top of the status of the tanks and any issues. They help you with the knowledge they have and answer questions. So lets get some things clear here as I can not stand people who ring the high and mighty bell. First off if you ask if the fish is a female or male you apparently plan on breeding fish. This assumes two things about yourself. One you are not an inexperience tank owner and have done your research. If you need to know how to breed fish you have gone to the library or used the common Internet resources. So in defense of the manager I will account what I saw. Some lady asked if an angel fish was male or female. Note even dedicated fish stores employees know this stuff. Only people who bother researching about fish to know about them. Next phase was the manager said she would get a person who could better help them. He know how to tell them apart while the manager said at that size you could not. Then she leaves them in that persons care. They did exactly what they should have. So she loses her cool and goes on a rant saying said manager should not have left her and that she was supposed to know everything about fish. Seriously...... So she apologizes as the lady says I am going to report you the manager says you have that right. I would have rather scene the manager pull out the employee handbook and explain the procedures while explaining what each person receives as training. Then after that ask them how to replace clutch packs in a car transmission, install a new road, install plumbing or wiring, or how the they make gas. Ignorance is not bliss if you seem to want to know about advanced skills. By this customers standard you driving a car makes you an expert because you drive. Also by this customers ideals they should be experts themselves as they had multiple 200 gallon tanks. Read up and realize customer service has employees who are not experts as that is rare. This lady walked up while I was receiving help from the manager and started yelling at her. Is that how you do things? This Petco is by far one of the best ones I have scene. I pretty much avoid Petco or Petsmart stores, but here in Yakima there is not very much in fish stores available.

If you are looking for a healthy pet go to Petsmart Not Petco. went there when i was looking for a Leopard Gecko, and none of their Leopard Geckos were healthy, so how do we know that their other animals are healthy, And their excuse was that they had so many of them and that there was competition going on, but why did they order so many of them? there is no excuse to have a unhealthy animal. All of their Employees had no Information about Reptiles, and If they almost everything was misleading. Go To Petsmart They have more experienced workers, Not just a 18 year old boy.

Large fish selection - if you enjoy your fish getting ick and dying. Quite a few fish are dead and floating in tanks, there is over-grown algae, sick fish, sponges and other materials carelessly left in tanks. Staff is not knowledgeable about the different fish or products. Such a shame, used to be the best place to go - now its the worst.

I walked in to see if I could get my dogs nails clipped. And ran into a surely, rude groomer. She could not get the sneer off of her face while she proceeded to tell me just what their policy was to do a nail trim. I decided that they didnt need to see my dog or my money. Friendly customer service goes a long way with me and my dog.

I much prefer this shop over the petsmart down the road. They handle their animals with care, and they are healthy when you adopt them. The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to all animals Ive posed questions about so far. Very helpful, and certainly my "go to" store.

Horrible customer service, I needed help finding tick/flea collars for my dogs and the lady was so rude, acted if I was the biggest inconvenience and was unable to answer any of my questions. Crazy mark up on all there products, exact same brand/products cheaper elsewhere!

Petco is usually pretty good. Prices are a bit high but they usually have what we need in stock. We typically only buy our pet food here due to the high prices on other pet products. Amazon and other retailers regular price usually beats Petcos sale price.

Its a really good place except theres one worker there I do not like whatsoever I call her Miss know-it-all if she were to get fired I give it 5 stars. The reason why I say that is because she killed my turtle and bottom feeders told me not to feed them at all

I buy my dogs food, treats, and toys at Petco. I also take him there for grooming. Its nice, because when we moved from Oregon to Washington, the grooming area was familiar enough to him that he didnt freak out. I like that consistency for him.

Overall the store is well stocked and I can always find what I need for my dogs, but I have to give credit to the grooming salon, theyre amazing. If you happen to go the grooming salon ask for Ana, shell do wonders with your dogs.

Has a large variety of pets, food, and anything your pet would need. Along with their lovely crew who love your pet almost as much as you do, the only downside is it takes a long time for your pet to get a hair cut.

I usually have a good experience here. Like most chain pet stores, the prices are a little high, but they typically have everything you need. The staff is always helpful, and my dog has a good time.

Love the personal treatment the groomers give our dogs. You can really tell that they love the pets. Its almost like they really look forward to seeing your dog again
