Kurt Malizio and Steve Gatton are absolutely terrible managers! Most of the staff at this store are really great. In fact I have been a very loyal shopper here for almost ten years. I will now be taking my business anywhere else where as long as the general manager is named Kurt Malizio unless he himself contacts me to make this right. Not only did he not help me with my issues "which I will explain" but he insulted me by saying that he wouldnt help be, not COULDNT but WOULDNT help because I was rude to him. I manage several companies so I know first hand that is NOT the way any manager has ever been trained to deal with an unhappy customer. Here is the story:. My wifes phone broke so I decided to grab her a pre paid phone until we were able to replace her nice Verizon phone. So I go to my previously default store for everything Tumwater Fred Meyers. I go to the electrics department and pick a phone. I ask the gentleman behind the counter to give me everything I need for it to work. He gives me a AT&T prepaid card for $45 and a phone and said that is all I need. After trying for well over an hour to activate the phone my wife discovers that we also needed a sim card which was never provided by the teller. So then we have drive back to Fred Meyer and purchase a sim card for ten dollars no big deal. The frustrating part comes next, after getting the sim "that was forgotten" we go back home and spend another hour and a half or do trying to activate the phone and calling AT&T for help. It turns out the card that i was charged $45 a for at Tumwater Fred Meyers was never even activated. Furthermore the person at AT&T says that sometimes tellers who use AT&T prepaid services will swap cards out at the counter leaving the customer with a useless card and keeping the active card to pay for their own service. "No saying this happened but it does seem to be the only explanation". The next day I had to work so I send my wife back to Fred Meyer for a third time to sort this all out. She comes back having returned the phone and sim card but saying that they refused to take back the $45 service card that had never even been active. So today I am fed up with the whole situation. Figuring I am a valued and well know customer at this store I decide to go in for a fourth time myself and get this sorted out with a manager... Not the case, immediately the electronics manager named STEVE GATTON began being extremely short with me and put the blame on me for the card not working and says he is unwilling to even see if he can do store credit or make and slight attempt at helping us. Once I voiced my concerns about an employee possibly taking the active card and giving me an inactive card he assured me that he knows that nobody in the entire store uses AT&T prepaid services.... How in the heck could he possibly know that? He couldnt and was just making up really bad excuses for how they couldnt possibly be liable for my inconvenience... Okay let talk to the GM I said, this is where I get to meet the crude and rude ex marine with terrible customer service skills named Kurt Malizio. Instead of hearing anything I had to say he assured me that he already heard the electronics managers story and couldnt help me. When I got short and said that I spend a lot of money here and the card was never even activated he said that its not his problem and to call AT&T which I had already done and been informed that the issue was not with the card but with the store I bought it at having never activated it. So instead of doing his job and looking into a possible employee theft and at minimum a lack of training in his electronics department he says he doesnt care if I stop shopping at his store and that he is now UNWILLING to help me any further..

The layout is a bit confusing so sometimes I cant find things but the more I go the easier it becomes. However, the store is VERY clean and the produce is EXCELLENT! Sometimes youll find a great deal and at times things can be cheaper than Walmart but other times it can more expensive. Their selection is fairly large but can be limited at times but its not too much of an issue. The staff are helpful and its usually not very busy. Their lines move fairly quickly and they have a self checkout which can shave a lot of time off your trip. You can be in Walmart for an hour to buy one thing. Fred Meyer makes it VERY easy to get in and get out. I love Walmart but Fred Meyer is just better. Its worth the few extra dollars because I go in, get my items, check myself out and Im done. Walmart has some extra items and they are GENERALLY cheaper but checkout is a problem. The cashiers are slow and the lanes are understaffed. Unless they get a self checkout, I wouldnt bother with Walmart unless you cant find it at Freddys.

Great friendly service. Fresh fruit for babies to snack on. Top pot doughnuts in the bakery. Seasonal clearance sales on clothing. Their app that you can apply additional digital coupons to your shopping card. Their natural foods/bulk selection is decent size. They have lots of aisles with people who seem happy to help you to buy your things. Parking is nuts but other than that this is a nice, clean, friendly Fred Meyer. If they could figure out how to do combo-locos like the HEB stores in South Texas it would create the ultimate grocery shopping experience.

There is ample parking close to an entrance. The doors you use to enter the store are never locked causing you to have to use the far exit when you finish shopping. No one harasses customers that have purchased goods as they leave. There is a Starbucks licensed shop at the northwest entrance. Fred Meyer stores generally have most everything, unless you find a neighborhood grocery store. Good clean well maintained stores. Good produce departments and competitively priced groceries. Typical quality and prices you will find at Fred Meyer and QFC stores.

This is our regular supermarket. Everything seems reasonably priced with the exception of their meats. Im not sure whats going on here, but Id rather pay Costco prices than Fred Meyer prices for beef. We love their food court, because you can get pretty good sandwiches, side-dishes, chicken, and sushi. Their eating area is a nice bonus. One thing I did notice is that their aisles are narrow. You can only comfortably fit two carts side-by-side. It kind of felt like I was shopping at a Trader Joes. To me this is a more upscale Super Walmart.

We shop here all the time because the staff are friendly and checkouts are fast. Today my two year old was upset while trying to grab a few last minute things and the nice man stocking the soda asked if he could get her a balloon to cheer her up and asked her what color she likes. A few minutes later he came back with a pink balloon for her and it even had a weight so it wouldnt float away! It made her day and I was able to finish shopping. Ty Alexander for going out of your way to give my girl a smile!
