This would be my first time taking my dog to the groomers and i decided to take her to Petco because they looked genuine. I took her in on a Sunday afternoon and im guessing the stylist was trying to leave work early like the rest of the world which i understand. Whatever the reason i am appalled at the condition my dog was left in. She is a little over a year, Bichon and it could just be that she has sensitive skin. When we picked her up she seemed fine but that evening some problems surfaced. We thought about it, and there are ways they can cover of burns, simply put baby powder over it. She had a sort of razor burn on her muzzle, its very bad. Then down near her privates, it was irritated almost like a diaper rash. Near her neck, we found some red dots, probably from the clippers or something. her nails werent cut evenly, they were really close to the pink, almost bleeding, not filed down and on one front paw one of her side nails was cut normally and on the other paw the same nail was still quite long. You could just tell they hadnt taken their time. Behind her ear, one of her veins, looked extremely purple, i compared it to her other ear and it wasnt the same at all. Almost like they had tugged it too hard. Inside one of her ears she has two scratches. I know people make mistakes, but nevertheless, it says clearly on the receipt print-out that they are to give you a full report on things they "noticed" during grooming and ways we could care for it, which they did not. Very very bad, I definitely will not be taking my dog back there again. Ive been living in the Annandale area for about 5 years now and I expected good service from this "professional" looking stylist. Paying just a little more for your dog to be well groomed and cared for is definitely worth it in order to not watch them suffer afterwards.

I love the staff. They are so nice and reach out - I have received so much good advice about my cats and dogs.. Love the vibe here. I also got my first pet (a cat) here 5y ago from the Tails High Organization, which was the first rescue group not to judge me and my family. Kitty is the healthiest cat ever 5y later...

Super nice employees, clean store. Youre greeted as you come through the door. I can always find what I want. I hate to see caged animals, but at least these ones seem clean and well cared for. Just wish the betta fish werent kept in those tiny containers, but again, that seems to be the norm everywhere.

This place is clean. Always put together. Have happy employees who are always friendly and helpful. I need to give. A specific shout out to the grooming department who does a fantastic job with my 75 pound 6 month Rottweiler, no easy task! Brian and Modesto are the best!

Store is always clean and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. If you call ahead they will have the item you requested ready at the checkout when you arrive. Now thats what I call Service.! 5 BIG Stars

I have to say the staffs in here are very nice and friendly. They always ask and chart with you like a friend. I always take my nephew here to see fish because how friendly are these guys.

The woman in the grooming salon shaved my dog who wasnt matted at all. Any person who has been trained would know not to shave that breed of dog. They clearly do not hire trained groomers.

Typical garbage petco. Prices are astronomical, service is horrible, product lines are incomplete, employees have no idea what they are talking about.
