Great place to shop. They have a great selection of products (if youre not picky about brands, e.g. they only have a few different brands of fruit juice. The dont carry Welchs or Knudsen/Santa Cruz). Their bulk selection is huge too and I always have to hit it up the candy section before a movie. The craft beer selection is weak, which is expected with large stores like this, however on my last visit I couldnt even find bombers (22oz bottles), which the Sumner store carries. I could be blind though. The only real downside to Winco, and this is pretty much company wide, is theyre always busy. The cashiers are fast so the wait isnt as long as you would think it would be.

I am always looking for better prices on quality food and when a friend of mine turned me on to WinCo, I was very pleased! The bulk foods section offers great per pound pricing on staples such as noodles, rice, cereal, trail mix and dried herbs and spices. Plus, I am gratified to know that my shopping dollars are going to an privately held, employee-owned business. The staff are personally invested in the success of their business and they are equal opportunity employers as demonstrated by their diverse staff. I feel not only welcome in this store, I feel like I am supporting my community. Yep, I get all of these good feelings at a grocery store!!

The service at winco used to be so much better. They used to ring up the other persons order while you were bagging yours. Not anymore they wait for the next person to pay. What a waste of being able to be able to ring up two orders and not using it. Thats why the lines were so long. I was in self check out whrn the produce guy with not even a name tag on tells me I have to much to be in this express lane. Told him he need not worry about me, thats when he informed me he worked there. I ask what his title was he says produce. He was on his break and wanted in line in front of me. Im not sure the prices are worth the lack of service.

My wife went with our 2 small children and not one employee offered her help while struggling to bag groceries. Both kids were crying and one was trying to climb out of the seat because it didnt have a working lap belt. We are all aware it is up to us to bag groceries but when a customer is hzving troubles an employee needs to step in and help. The cashier just stood there watching my wife struggle and as soon as there was enough room for the next customers groceries she continued with her work. We like winco for its bulk section and prices but it needs work on customer service. Not very pleased with todays visit.

Ive already been won over by how affordable everything is, but tonights story makes me a lifetime Winco shopper. On Monday I did my bi-monthly shopping trip and somehow came home without about $20 of items. Im not sure if I left in the cart or what happened but I didnt have it when I returned home. I called and explained my situation to customer service and they told me to come in and they would let me grab the missing items. I was shocked, because that is customer service to the utmost. Im proud to be a Winco shopper, and thanks again for understanding my frustrating situation and resolving it for me. A++++++

The best prices around for meats, fish, juice, dairy. Good stuff. Specials well-priced on produce. A bulk food and spice section that competes well with the yuppie natural-food places on variety (and w/ a nontrivial organic section) and beats them on price by 50%. Im a PCC member in Seattle, but I stop in at Winco for bulk foods when I travel to Tacoma or Olympia. Used to do a lot of Fred Meyer shopping, but now that Freddies is all about reducing package sizes and eliminating good specials, I go to Winco way more. Easy-on/easy off the freeway at 72nd in Tacoma

Been a faithful customer since Winco moved in. Have purchased a lot of stuff for parties and events. I like the prices but the customer service stinks. They are very iffy with following the law and its cashier discretion. Wanted to buy alcohol, above the age requirement, provided my ID and was denied because a minor was with me. Went to complain, and the cashier contacted everyone informing them I was selling to minors. All I wanted was a bottle of wine, and now they will never get my service. Until service gets better, I will not shop here.

To all the parents who shop for your lil ones. Make sure you check the 1gal Purified Water Bottles before you buy them. I bought two of the ones with the pink labels thinking theyre sealed and discovered both opened. My husband went there now to get new ones and told me on the phone that most of them are opened. I called this store and informed them about it already. I hope they get rid of the opened ones. You never know what crazy ppl will do. Other than that this particular store is one of my to-go places for grocery shopping.

I recently moved here to tacoma a couple mo the ago and started shopping here. I shopped here REGULARLY, almost twice a week and once a weekend. As o was coming out of the store, winco security were dragging this boys face on the ground because he had a can of soup in his pocket. SOUP! I dont condone stealing but this place has shown its true colors. Many of my girlfriends also have expressed because of what I saw they will NOT be shopping here. He was arrested but his face was brutal. I will NOT shop here EVER again.

Im sorry winco, but I dont feel safe shopping there anymore. The last three times I have been there, so have the Tacoma police or the fire department . I have seen hairy situations in the parking lot and a co worker witness a fight in the parking lot the other day. The store is great and the prices are very reasonable. But some of the customer are just plain old nasty and rude. My advice if you must shop there. Go early mornings and not on a fri, sat, sun..

Good cheap groceries! I must warn you about the crabs. There were times where I take home some Jonah crab claws and when I cook them, they REEK of ammonia to cover up the old crabs so it looks clean when you buy it. Its always a hit and miss with these. But biting into those bitter crabs is not fun! Hard to enjoy when youre constantly smelling which legs doesnt have the ammonia smell! Buy at your own risk. Ill be buying crabs at a better seafood section somewhere else.

Dont like the no more bags & have to pay for the winco paper bags. I pay cash for their food. Bags should be complimentary. Very inconvenient. People can recycle plastic bags. Stores will lose some business over this. Just another money making scheme for the grocery industry. I am glad lakewood hasnt surcome to this yet. What would be fair if food stamp recipients paid the 6 cents a bag & cash customers are exempt from it. Good for fair thought Winco.
