Had my worst Costco experience here. I mean, Costco is Costco - we all learn to deal with the crowds and long lines because the products and deals are worth it. But I have never been made to feel more uncomfortable at a Costco than I did this past weekend. I have just the basic membership and it has been working for me just fine. I understand that all companies attempt to promote certain products/upgrades and thats fine, but when you try to push your products onto your customers to the point where they feel harassed, that is not ok. It was a weekend, mind you, lines all the way into the aisles, and when its my turn, the cashier looks at my membership card and screams (literally screams) out "upgrade!!". Im totally confused, thinking theres something wrong with my membership, trying to remember when it was last renewed. I was pretty sure it hasnt been a year. A few seconds later, another employee comes over trying to get me to upgrade my membership to executive!! I couldnt hear most of what he was saying due to the fact that he was talking super fast (also imagine the noise level at a Costco on a Sunday), throwing numbers and statistics out at me that I still, a few days later, cant comprehend. And though i repeatedly told him (and my cashier, that had now joined the conversation at that point, trying to convince me to upgrade) I wasnt interested, he kept going with his pitch, disregarding my responses. With the line behind my growing longer and longer, I became more flustered and uncomfortable seeing that the customers behind me were becoming agitated and restless as I was holding up the line. I was just trying to figure out what on earth they were trying to talk me into, and finding a way to make them understand that I was not interested! Finally, after what seemed like forever, they let me go. I understand Costco trying to promote their upgrades, and under different circumstances I might have agreed (if I could actually hear and understand the benefits and the additional cost), but the checkout on a super busy day is not the place to do it!!!!! It makes me want to shop elsewhere. I probably will continue to shop at Costco but I will be avoiding the tacoma location and hope that I dont have to experience this again at another store. Please please please, for the sake of the members you are trying to upgrade, and for the sake of the people waiting in line behind them, stop trying to sell upgrades at the checkout! Find a better way.

I shop here often and typically have a good experience, but I thought Id call attention to a recent incident if only to alert management to a serious issue. I visited with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and had a nice shopping experience. We were kindly offered samples, we found everything we needed, and we were helped promptly and courteously by an employee when we needed help with something. We arrived at the checkout and noticed a frantic manager berating his employees in front of customers. He was clapping in their faces, yelling, and ridiculing them relentlessly. The lines were moderately long, so we had plenty of time to observe this behavior. He simply did not relent. Ive never seen such behavior before. Weve all had bad bosses, but this was unbelievable. Examples of his behavior: - Waving arms in frustration with repeated, unnecessary gasps - Clapping continuously within 3 feet of an employee checking out a customer - "You people cant do anything right today" - "Get moving, what is wrong with you" - Grabbing a broom from a sweeping employee to "show him how its done" I welcome contact from Costco to identify this individual. People are just trying to do their job, and nobody should have to be treated like this.

This was my worst costco experience hands down. In fact this is the first store or restaurant review Ive written. Ive had two poor customer experiences at this store. One in the printing department with a lady who was extremely rude. When a customer repeatedly apologizes w/ "Im sorry Im not trying to be difficult, could I please have some help" eye rolls and responding with silence is not appropriate service delivery, hey we all have our bad days but this happened on two separate occasions with the same woman. Another experience with trying membership over the phone, again terrible service, being told different things from different employees and then getting talked down to. This costco location makes me want to drive the 45 min to silverdale to get better service

Depending on the time and day (This review is for the entire store, not just the hearing center that I havent used)...there can be a wait including the concession area which has limited seating and carts can crowd your exit....so I Wish it was a bit bigger. But this store always has a lot of customers and handles limited space very efficiently with many lines open at once and a quick return process (the easiest of any store/brand anywhere Ive visited). With so many customers, seasonal items will sell quickly. Many times items were there one week and gone the next. The vegetable chill room used to have a bad smell but it was gone the last time I was there. I like that I can find organic items here, which is unusual for most wharehouse type savings clubs.

To the guys at the tire shop: I came in today with my lifted Toyota pickup for a tire balance. Now, balancing older, over-sized tires on a pickup is not an easy task. So, I was surprised when the guys (Antonio, Tim, and Dee) agreed to give it a try, no charge as I have BFGs (Costco bought). It took some slight convincing and time, but after a wait and drive home for several miles on I-5, I must say Im impressed. In the past few months Ive had several places balance my tires incorrectly. Antonio and Tim, not sure which one did the work, but you got dialed in very well. The truck tracks very well now and better than ever before. Thanks for going out of your way and taking care of a long time customer.

I love Costco! My experiences at the Tacoma store have always been pleasant and satisfactory. I have found personnel to be very helpful and friendly, but professional. And I like that staff doesnt rush everyone out the door at closing time. I appreciate seeing new items as well as old standbys. Also the prices are typically great. But my favorite thing about Costco is the ease of returns! This allows me to buy with confidence. My only complaint is that its frustrating when I try, and like, a certain product and then it is discontinued. However today I was informed that there is a suggestion box which I promptly used to request the return of a recently purchased item. Keep up the good work Costco!

I called to ask if they had an item. The women, who answered the phone (administrative line on the automated phone message), was very rude and unhelpful. You would think if I am about to throw down $400 dollars on ONE item. They would be more than happy to figure out whether or not they have it in stock. She told me to call back when other representatives where available to help me. I also went in to purchased a membership a few months back. In the middle of my sentence (LITERALLY) the woman walked away from us to speak with her coworker- no excuse me, no just one second these people need my help- just turned and walked away. Needless to say their customer service is the worst!
