Well the Depot is the new store in Longview, and being a new store I think they really tried to make a good impression on us all and for quite some time I felt well cared for when going there. for instance they would make it a point to send someone over to greet me and ask if I needed to be directed to something. Well I think that "honeymoon" is over. though my records show that I was impressed enough now to buy about $3000 in products from them in the last 8 months I am wondering if I ought to consider other avenues. reason is? their customer service has just stopped. I stopped in twice now in the last 3 days and there was no greet. I tried to tack down help and the girl I swear to god raced away from me didn’t make eye contact and when I asked the checker later how come that girl wouldn’t help me she said that they might be helping other customers… there was no other customers I could see. Just now I got off the phone I needed info on their print services and they put me on hold for 11 minutes. there was no mention of we are sorry for the delay as we have to help others who are ahead of you. no, in my opinion they have likely just cut their staff back. they are no longer "new" so are taking the attitude that they have done what they could to impress us and now choose to take the industry standard of Wallmart meaning its do it your self or go elsewhere we are not able to help you. Don’t get me wrong their web site is very attractive and they do ship to me at a pretty low price threshold. their store here in Longview is attractive and they do have the best selection of stationery and pens and pencils but I nearly live in their store, if you are new it might be a disappointment as they really don’t want to be there to help you personally. just another Wallmart. go figure.

Good selection of products, questionable customer service. They treated me as a criminal trying to steal copyrighted material. I had obtained a copy of the FE handbook via the NEECS website (youre given a free pdf when you register with them). I was specifically told to print this handbook by the instructor of my class. When I arrived only one young lady was straightforward with me. They believed I may be infringing on copyright, but that actually it was ok to print one copy of the book. If it was ok to print one copy of the book for personal use, Im not sure why another young lady had to approach, and begin talking to her coworker around the subject, "remember what I said to you about this.." as she taps the box containing my copy. She then proceeds to CALL the manager to get his approval. No big deal right, just covering themselves from liability? Next they give me this round about explanation of why they cant refund me the tax on the order (I never even asked them to, I accepted I would pay it). This resulted in me being told to come back the next day to see the manager personally for $2.67. So they will call a manager in front of a customer to clear a nonexistent criminal action, but wont do anything when it comes to actually helping the customer. Next time, get your eggs in order before the customer arrives. If you think there is a problem, call your manager and get it handled. If there is a crime being committed, call the police. There was no reason I had to be a part of any exchange that hinted at me trying to steal copyrighted material. I was 100% within my rights to print the material, and even if I wasnt, you should have that figured out before I arrived.

To Office Depot Management, I am writing to let you know that I will not be using your company for my office essentials and computer purchases any longer. In February 2013, when I bought my computer, the employee that sold it to me told me that with your protection plan I would be able to have my computer replaced at any time during the two years I was covered. My computer has stopped working just before this two year time limit and I am now finding that I am only eligible for a small amount of manufacturing and maintenance. I believe that I have been lied to. I spent close to $500, and purchased a protection plan on top of this. This is a lot of money for me. Now I am seeing that even the small amount of service I am actually allowed under the plan I purchased requires me to jump through a bunch of hoops to maybe find myself with a working computer. $500 is not a lot of money for you to lose. It will be a small lose for you to lose my business. It is much more of a hassle for me to go without a personal computer. Thank you for your time

I own my own business & Ive gotten fabulous customer service, whether on the phone or in the store, with the exception of one incident over a year ago. The other day, I went in to make sure that the order Id emailed to them was being processed & that they understood what I needed them to do. They couldnt find my email & after I finally realized that I could look it up on my phone, I discovered that Id left out the "d" in depot. I re-sent it & they received it & I was told it probably wouldnt be ready until the following day. I was OK with that, since it was my mistake which caused the delay. Then I noticed that she was printing my order, but it still needed to be cut; next thing I knew, she was cutting it & it was ready for me to pay for & take with me in about 20 minutes! This was definitely above & beyond! There is nobody in the store who doesnt treat me like a most valued customer. Thanks to all of you.

I dont know if they are having a bad day, but Ive been standing by the printing counter for 15 mins without being acknowledged. When I tried to greet one of the associates, I got an evil look, like I was inconveniencing them. When one of them finally decided to help, there was ZERO customer service. One place I will never come back to.

This store has good selection, but they have TERRIBLE customer service. I think they need to hire more people. They have long lines and their employees act very stressed out. They treat you like you are a HUGE inconvenience if you ask for anything. If I had another option in town I would take it. Prepare yourself to be handled rudely.

SLOW. If youre in a rush, rest assured youll be late wherever you go. How is it possible to have 2 employees at the front end talking to each other instead of helping out the 2 clients who are asking for assistance? Yes, I did eventually get helped and the lady was nice, hence the 3 stars.

Every time I have tried to contact this store for my furniture delivery, it takes me three calls for them to actually answer. Once they answer, no one seems to be able to really answer my questions or help me. Dont recommend.
