This is not a store I can recommend. It is impossible to get help selecting products. Prices are unreasonably high; you can do much better at an online pet store. The store is not cleaned frequently enough, especially later in the day. Long lines, even at holiday time. Staff behaves unprofessionally, engaging in personal conversations, avoiding work, and doing the bare minimum. When I requested to speak to the store manager, I was more than once directed to the duty manager, not the store manager, but this man identified himself as the store manager even though I know now that the real store manager was on the premises at the time. At night, it is very dark outside and at closing time, there should be someone responsible on duty, someone who can accept responsibility. The night I was there at 8:30 p.m., all the "manager on duty" wanted to do was cover his own rear. I spoke with the store manager by phone. She apologized, but she did not offer to rectify the situation. Perhaps she does not have the authority. I have tried to contact the district manager to no avail. PetSmart cares only about the bottom line and you cannot reach anyone who is in a position to address problems in their Phoenix HQ through the toll-free line. I intend to contact the health department since I cannot get anyone at PetSmart to respond in a professional manner. I do not trust PetSmart, especially the Issaquah location, and I would never leave my beloved dog in their care.

We took our dog to the pet hotel over the holidays for 7 days. I was very hesitant to take him to another Petsmart because we have had bad experiences at some of the other locations, but we were short on time and needed to find a place to kennel him. Once we got there I mentioned what had happened at the other locations and how disappointed we were and they reassured us that the Issaquah store was the best and theyd take good care of him. 7 days later we pick him up and all seems fine, but then a few days later our dog got an unusual cough. Fearing kennel cough (even though he is up to date on all his vaccinations) we monitored him overnight. The next morning was worse. He didnt eat breakfast or drink anything, was very lethargic, very unlike himself and was running a fever. So my husband took him to the emergency vet where after examination and x-rays ended up confirming pneumonia. $500+ later, antibiotics and follow up x-rays, hes doing much better, but when I called the store to alert them and question them about his condition they confirmed that he had not thrown up during his stay (which can cause pneumonia if it gets in to his lungs) and all they had to say was "Im so sorry. No other dogs presented symptoms." No, thank you for letting us know; no, what can we do to help, nothing...There is NO other place he could have received this illness...needless to say we will never be taking our dog to another Petsmart....ever....

These people are only out for a check. I have been taking my puppy there for a year, have done ever service they recommended, spent 100s of $$. Today was the last straw. Tried to charge me 40.00 for a nail trim. They had to get extra help. I would have rather they came out to the waiting room and suggested some doggy downers before hand. I refused to pay that amount for less then 5 minutes of time. And only then after I refused did the vet come out and explain rudely that the next time he would need to be put under. That he needs obedience training, (when he has been going to that plus agility his whole first year of life) and that he could be a dangerous dog. This dog is sweet and shows no signs of aggression. He was just scared. The vets come and go, they dont know your dog and dont care to. She just wanted to collect triple what a trim should cost. This is not the first time they have charged me different then what was quoted. You get a different vet on each visit and they dont always agree. Take your pet to a place that really cares about the animals. I wont be back again. Ever!

Called the Pet Hotel a few days in advance to make a reservation to leave my cats for the day while having work done on my apartment. The lady on the phone was very nice and asked about their shots being up to date. To my knowledge I thought they were current. She told me not to worry and that she would call over to Bainfield (my cats vet that is inside the same building) to double check and that she would call me back if needed. Never received any call back so I assumed that everything was fine. When I arrived at 930 AM days later (I had to be at work by 10AM) to drop them off they apparently never checked. Decided when I arrived that it would be a good time to call the vet and then tell me the cats were over due a week, so they couldnt take them. Also the vet was completely booked out so I couldnt get their shots. I left super pissed, hours late for work, and no one who worked there bothered to try and help me out or apologize for the mix up. Im not bothering going back there for anything or the vet. Never liked that place, just went there for convince.

We used to go there often and liked the place, but things changed since we groomed our dog there twice and boarded our two cats there twice in their pet hotel. They only have one pet bather and one pet groomer, making it very difficult to make an appointment (comparably, the Bellevue store located at 24th St has at least 4 bathers and groomers altogether). For the first time we boarded our cats there, the staff lost my food scoop that I put in the food container; for the second time, the staff once again lost one of the two collars (with very important King County pet license tag attached on it). When we asked the staff to look for the collar, they were very impatient and just went back to the cat cottage and returned in only half a minute, telling me she couldnt find it. Now we will stick to the 24th St Petsmart and not consider to come back to this Issaquah store again.

Weve been taking our Bichon here for grooming since for over 4 years. The groomers are sometimes shorthanded but weve found 2 or 3 that do a fabulous job. Better than other places Ive taken him to be groomed (in Bellevue). Our dog LOVES to go there for the Day Camp playtime (during the day). We have no reason to believe hes ever been neglected (per some of the comments on this forum). Hes been boarded overnight a couple times for just a few nights. Again, he seems happy to be there and always looks great when we pick him up.

I am not sure why PS is getting such horrible reviews. We have been taking our pug to the hotel for about three years and have nothing but good things to say about them! The pug is a LOT to handle and PS always does it with a smile on their faces. Theyve always been courteous when I call to check up on my pup and they send him home with a glowing "pawgress" report. I think its a great hotel for dogs. Worth the price as youre getting 24 hour a day supervision!
