So have you ever been to a 5-star restaurant? I have yet to indulge in such an elegant setting but I imagine that the level of service you receive in a 5-star restaurant would be equivalent to the level of service that I received from Lorna and Jill at the Home Depot in Winchester. I walked in around 7pm after a long day, frustrated with a purchase I made. Lorna, working in returns, immediately showed empathy and offered me a discount on the item I’d already purchased, which was awesome! I was instantly impressed with her reaction, especially her tone and body language, it really felt like she cared. In addition, she was willing to bend for a frustrated customer; offering me an “I’m sorry for your time, dissatisfaction and hassle” discount. All that said, things became complicated for everyone and I almost became frustrated again. But it wasn’t Lorna’s fault, it was the systems fault. Right after Lorna offered the discount, she quickly realized that because of the way the purchase was made, her system wouldn’t allow her to process my discount on the spot. The next issue that arose clearly became a complicated one and I won’t elaborate too much…primarily because it got so confusing for me to keep up with that I gave up trying to understand what Lorna had to figure out. Speaking of figuring out, in comes Jill, the evening supervisor. What quickly occurred can only be described in one word, synergy. Jill and Lorna instantly did some creative engineering with their system and figured out a way to bypass something in order to give me the discount I had been offered. Long story short, Lorna and Jill went leaps and bounds over what was expected of them and I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by their willingness to figure out a way to get done what needed to get done. I told them before I left that the level of service they provided me made me feel like I should’ve tipped them, and I wasn’t joking. If they were waiters in a restaurant I would’ve given them a 50% tip. If you ever have an issue while shopping at Home Depot and either Lorna or Jill are working, just ask them for help. Awesome job ladies!!

Home Depot is an absolute joke. I cannot even begin to explain the mess we have dealt with. We bought windows through Home Depot for our entire house (19 windows) to the tune of almost $10k. Our sales rep told us "we have a great installer, everyone loves him and he will take care of you." HA- if I had only known the nightmare that was about to begin. We signed our contract end of January, maybe Feb 1st of 2017 and made the deposit. It is now almost May and the so called "installation" has been a NIGHTMARE for 3 months. The installers are worthless, rude and lazy. The installers have been to our house 3, maybe 4 times and we are not even close to being done after we were told "it will only take 2 days and it will be at your schedule convenience. They always left early or didnt show up AFTER TAKING OFF WORK AND CANCELING VACATION!!! They broke our siding, broke windows, did a horrible job putting up uneven flashing with horrible caulking. You can see LIGHT through the new window seal, pretty sure that is not suppose to be like that. We have been in constant contact with the regional installation manager and even his boss and even he has made empty promises and forgotten to call us back or get a resolution. We have had to remind him of what is left and what is wrong. We demanded a different installer and came home one day from work with the rest of our beautiful new windows thrown in our driveway with broken sashes, glass and dented/marked up casings. ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME? Oh and to make it ALLLL better, we were offered $100 off installation total for our inconveniences. $100? Is that a joke? Is that meant to be insulting? Guess what, I still have shards of glass in my back yard because the crappy installers dropped a window and didnt bother picking up all the glass and now its mowing season. To say I am DONE with home depot and WILL NEVER use them or buy anything from their store again is an understatement. I will get my message heard.

the home depot store #4618 located at 2350 Legge Blvd Winchester, VA 22601 has horrible customer service. the store manager wouldnt allow us to do a return even when we had the receipt with us. our purchase was done yesterday and we paid with store credit and we still werent allowed to make a return even though the 90 day return policy had not expired yet. also they store return policy was not displayed and we had no idea of what the return policy except the 90 days. we were very disappointed and unsatisfied by their customer service and expected better or at least a descent service. we are contractors and a long term customer of Home depot, however lately Home Depots customer service has been extremely lacking, and I am very UN-SATISFIED with this store. I have been treated very disrespectfully, on more than just one occasion, but this is the latest episodes of "rude and utmost down-right terrible" customer service, the employee of this Home Depot has told me to leave in a rude manner, because they stated "they dont want to deal with, and could not prove that we made this purchase, while we have the original sale receipt" and try to push us off for 90 days. In end-term, Home Depot is lacking very poorly and because of it, home depot has been losing more and more sales/customers and they have just lost another one. those customers have been so unsatisfied that they have left home depot and gone to other competitors like lowes, ace hardware, sears, capitol building supplies, 84 lumber, abc supplies, etc.

Last summer I had to replace all the flooring in a basement apt. The insurance companys guy wanted me to use vinyl plank because " it fast and easy and he has to make a profit". He really said that. I wanted porcelin tile, tile that looked like hardwood. I found just what i wanted on line at a great price. Checked it out in person at the Winchester store. Mr Jones in the flooring department is amazing ,so knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all my questions, sent me home with samples and helped me feel confident I was ordering the correct amount. He even suggested a wonderful tile guy when mine fell through. What a life saver. (You can be I was not using the insurance companys contractor.) The floor looks wonderful. The insurance company was amazed I got it done so underbudget. The store took back my left overs and gave me credit for a few tiles that came broken or with imperfections in the glaze. It was so easy and stress free and the finished results are so nice. The tile guy did say the tiles were not high end but I knew that from the price. They allowed me to have the look I wanted in a basement and the peace of mind that the floor would withstand any future accidents. Great experience because of the help of great people. Thank you.

Outstanding service, from the front door, through each department and to checkout. We renovate properties and have an outlier in this area. I havent spent time in this store for years. I was pleasantly surprised to see the 12+ employees and managers I encountered on several occasions were tremendously helpful. My husband remarked that hed forgo purchases at a local store and buy at this Home Depot whenever possible. However, it seems as though the Home Depot stores at other locations are making an effort to change the way they interact with customers. Home Depot vs Lowes. I shopped at Home Depot, as I have a Pro account. Id continue to shop there for the service. Today, Im buying stock in Home Depot.
