Yesterday Carolina Furniture delivered a gorgeous living room sofa and beautiful teak and wicker deck furniture ~ and we could not be more pleased. Weve done business with the Steele family for 15 years and twice recently with Joe. In every case, Joe, his product, service and team have surpassed expectations. Our den was already beautifully decorated yet one of two sofas was well worn and ready to be replaced; Joe masterfully found the perfect complement sofa and fabric that pulled the room together even moreso than before. The colors in the room are richer and more alive with this one change. And to top it off, Joe took the initiative to have the fabric tested and treated before delivery saving me this added step. Definitely wins on "easy to do business with". Similarly, he patiently designed the perfect layout for our two level deck and tirelessly found the perfect fabric and accent cushions to give our outdoor seating the perfect blend of casual comfort, sophistication and a pop of color. When I casually mentioned our 15 year old Baker table had encountered a few accidental scratches from accidental guests, he surprised me that this is fixable and arranged for me to return it for his folks to repair it. The delivery men are very careful, arrive on time and take pride in what they do as does the entire business. Carolina Furniture has successfully found the sweet spot between traditional, quality and current furnishings wrapped in excellent taste and customer service. Nice job, Joe!

I recommend avoiding this company at all costs. They will take you order and payment but after that your on your own. I placed an order for a very nice table and chairs and everything was fine until the shipper arrived with the wrong items! I notified my salesperson and she would tell the owner (Joe ) who would get right on it. 2 weeks later i still did not get a single call back. I finally called Joe, and he claimed that he just received the information (5 days ago) but had not bothered to do anything. Joe grudgingly promised to call me back within an hour but..... never did. The next day I called my salesperson ( who was very nice ) for an update and she and she informed me that they were going to cancel the order and credit my account. So, after keeping my money for 2 months and making me take a day off work to wait for the wrong delivery - they did nothing to help. Never called once to explain what happened. Never called to provide how this was going to be fixed. Joe, the owner who claims that they take care of the customer first, was totally disinterested in talking with me and never returned the phone call he promised. Not a company you want to give your money to! Ill update this post when I see that they actually returned my $2300.00 or if Ill have to call the bank and file a fraud claim.

I had the same experience as another Google reviewer. My husband and I ordered a leather chair, paid for half. They delivered it, it was the wrong color. Salesperson told me that I must be mistaken, I was not (we picked a caramel shade of leather, a chocolate shade was delivered). We went back and forth, round and round. The salesperson was extremely rude. We ordered the chairs in October 2013. Wrong chairs delivered in January. The problem turned out to be that all the Whittemore Sherrill leather samples are of an old dye lot and all of the colors are called the same thing, but are in fact very different from the sample in the showroom. I finally got my refund in May 2014. Also had the same problems getting in touch with Joe, the manager. I had to leave multiple voice-mails, and be extremely firm. He stated that he would be "making an exception" by giving me a refund. They held my money for the chairs (that I did not get) for 7 months, I still have no chairs, and I had 10% deducted from my refund. Takeaway points: 1) poor customer service 2) inability to deliver product that was ordered 3) Inability to admit mistake and take care it. Advice: Go elsewhere.

I had a very different experience at Carolina Furniture than the previous reviewer. First, the store and the inventory they carry is beautiful, and the employees there are incredibly knowledgeable about the lines they carry...something you just dont get at most furniture stores and definitely not from mainstream providers like pottery barn or restoration hardware. I have ordered 5 pieces from them, a dining table, bureau, headboard and mattress, day bed, and my most recent purchase was a beautiful sofa. For each order my sales person was responsive, incredibly helpful, and knowledgeable. The delivery was right on target and they called a week beforehand to schedule a time that worked best for me (I live in DC). I also appreciated the fact that the employees with whom I worked were really able to hone in on my desired style and help me realize what I was looking for in each piece- the pieces are all BEAUTIFUL and the employees all have a great aesthetic eye. Overall I highly recommend Carolina Furniture for your furniture needs, I could not be happier with all of my purchases and interactions with the employees...even the delivery men are fantastic!!

I work with a designer named Preston. My husband and I have been married for 25 years - and with a new home purchase, decided to completely change our look to one that is more modern. Preston is not only extremely talented and creative, she is equally patient. My husband and I have been indecisive, not agreeing - a real challenge Im sure. She has worked hard to find the right piece for each area of our home that we tackled. She offers advice and direction with every area of design. We are so happy to have found her and we love what she is doing with our home! Lance, their lead delivery person, is also a delight. Deliveries are quick, efficient and timely. Lance is also very helpful and super sweet. My only wish would be, that the company try to add more modern pieces to the showroom floor. I know this is Colonial Williamsburg, but the juxtaposition can be fun! Love this place! Were lucky to have this company in town!

Cannot say enough amazing things about this store and its employees. I live in DC and was in need of a new bed frame and dining room chairs. Unfortunately, I didnt have time to get down to Williamsburg or have a consultant come to my house so I did everything via email and pictures. Joe couldnt have been more spot on in capturing our style and tying it with the style of our new home. I wish I was exaggerating in saying that literally every person who has come to the house has given us major compliments on all the pieces we purchased from Carolina Furniture. The delivery and installation was efficient and the men were so kind. Honestly if you want some with a good eye, valuable products and AMAZING customer service, youve come to the right place!

Although Carolina Furniture has very nice furnishings, I had an unpleasant experience the three times I attempted to shop there. My assumption was that I probably should have worn my "Sunday Best" with pearls in order to get noticed by their rather pompous sales staff. I think it is interesting to read the other comments.... one of them referred to a "previous" negative comment.... but it looks like someone has deleted that "negative" comment!!!! Hmmmmm... Very Interesting!!!! Maybe the only way to make a true impression is to go through the Better Business Bureau!
