Let me start by saying that never have I ever witnessed such absolutely unfathomable incompetence from what is supposed to be a "professional furniture store". I dont say this to exaggerate or place unnecessary bad vibes on this store, or Grand in general, but they genuinely deserve this review. My friends parents purchased a bed from Grand about 1.5 years ago, and ever since the frame broke the first time its been pure hell trying to get a replacement or any type of decent compensation. First time they offered to fix it they asked for pictures prior to coming out to the house, and subsequently assumed that all they needed were new rails to patch it up. They come, and eventually the bed is left with some tacky spring on wheels thing holding it up as a bed because instead of physically coming to check out the problem prior to attempting to fix it, they visually assumed through pictures that the bed needed rails when in reality it needed an entirely new headboard, which of course they came without because they didnt know. OK, no problem, just get it right the next time. Nope, by this time the bed style is conveniently discontinued, and they do what they always do when their furniture fails to be efficient (did I mention the parents have a defective table from grand as well that they got so tired of trying to exchange they simply kept it) which is offering you money to keep the bed as is (which ends up being WAY less than you purchased the bed for, and way less than you could buy any other bed for, I understand value depreciation but SHEESH) or offering another item in the store. Naturally they chose another bed because they kind of need a bed, not a "lump sum" that amounts to nearly nothing. Weeks, probably a month go by, and here they are again today with another defective bed that they cant even put together themselves. You may wonder why even though I havent personally done business with them, I am so upset. I practically live with these people and I help move EVERYTHING around to clear space for these people, Ive traveled with them to and from the store in the next city, and I cant help but be bewildered by this constant failure on Grands part to provide something decent to its customers. Its like they dont care at ALL what they send you. I am very surprised the first bed even went up. Then they just leave and you are left with a very poor excuse for what you paid for, and they try to persuade you to keep it for much less than a fraction of your investment or to take one of their even crappier items when the inevitable happens. They are aware of it and they dont care. They act as if their store is worth anything more than its defective goods, but I promise you it isnt. All of this comes after dealing with the defective table from the same store! LONG STORY SHORT: if you are looking for longevity in your furniture, or simply dont want to deal with defects and unprofessionalism, CHOOSE A DIFFERENT FURNITURE STORE.

If no stars were allowed thats what I would rate them as. First time shopping Grand, we found a set and asked if the orientation could be switched -we were told no. After doing some research I discovered that it could be. I called the store that night and was told that it could. We went back and they were willing to order it even though it was supposed to be a special order according to the rep and they werent supposed to order it-the asst mgr gave the go ahead, this seemed shady, my husband and I were a bit uneasy but agreed to move forward with the order.. We went back to do financing which they claim is 12 months no interest yet they charge interest upfront for 10 months or so, then take it off the back end, (i have never seen this before) my credit is good, I was approved, well that isnt enough they still wanted references in case I defaulted (again, I have a good credit score) showing I dont default-this should be reference enough!( I didnt walk at this point because they just hit my credit) Once they printed the paperwork the numbers did not add up, the first finance person could not explain the calculation so someone else had to step in, again I asked where they came up with the totals, and asked about the $36 which was added in as a payment protection, that I had already declined and to my surprise another $30 fee for processing of paperwork! This did it for me, no one ever explained any such fee, had they I would not have done business here and shopped somewhere else. I have never had to pay a processing fee for financing of furniture. I decided not to continue and to take my business elsewhere, the asst mgr was a joke, super friendly to make the sale and seemingly clueless and unhelpful when I addressed my disguist. The sales rep claimed she wasnt aware of the fee herself. They would not remove the $30 and chose to lose a sale and repeat business. I will never purchase from this store nor will I recommend anyone else to.

My furniture (couches and bedroom set) was supposed to come on a Saturday . I got a call the day before from the person who sold me the furniture (I think his name was Chris) and said he had good news and bad news. Basically my headboard was broken, so they couldnt deliver that but they could deliver everything else. Made no sense but fine, whatever, annoyance #1. I was told the headboard would be delivered the following Saturday. No one ever calls to confirm a time or anything so I call Chris to find out whats going on. Again, he had good news and bad news. Good news , they had my headboard. Bad news, they didnt have room for it in the truck and he would PERSONALLY deliver it to me 5 PM on a Tuesday . Annoyance #2. Tuesday comes and he gets there close to 7 PM. Annoyance #3. When he gets there in his own car, WITH NO MOVERS, just his MOTHER in the car, he proceeds to ask me to help him move the stuff into my apartment. The CUSTOMER is helping move stuff into their own apartment... Anyone ever heard of professionalism? If you cant move it on your own, maybe you shouldve had the company deliver it! Overall not a horrible experience but nowhere near excellent. I went to the one in Norfolk , off of Little Creek. Note to customers, dont let anyone personally deliver furniture to your house . I still have to pay my first bill IN FULL, even tho I only had HALF of my things for two weeks , smh.

Been one month since I purchased a couch. Never got a call about any information regarding the delay or a eta. Stopped by the store and called every time I get the same idk answer. was hoping to have a couch before the holidays but that doesnt seem possible. No compensation for their mistakes, no wrongfully promised dates. Poor customer support, you have to do everything to know whats going on with your purchase. Seems like when the seller makes their commission they are done with you. Update 12/20: Called today and was noticed that couch getting pushed till Jan 2nd. I ordered the couch on the day after black Friday. Update 12/22: Spoke to GM who said she will get someone to call me the same day, never got a call. Call. Update 12/23: Called the store and the store manager left already at 1500 (wtf) and assistant manager is busy 3 Diff times. Was promised a call back and never received it. Update 1/20: Finally got my couch, when i went to comefirm the price of my couch they messed up my order, bought it during the holiday sale for 20 % of and a extra 5 % for being militar. Invoice has nl discounts on it and they charged me full price for the couch , a couch that took two months to get. Review if you seriously decide to buy a furniture here, ... DONT trust me your better off anywhere else. Hell i suggest the thrift store instead.
