My family and i are new to the area and were looking for a store that we could try new things. My son is interested in remote controlled vehicles and helicopters so we were excited when we found hobbytown. We ventured into the store on saturday may 23rd for the first time. The store is huge and i dont know how they keep knowledge on everything there. We dealt with a nice young man name michael. He took the time to show us some of the different cars that they had, explaining about the different components and what makes up the costs. He took the time to show my son a small remote controlled vehicle and my son loved it. From there he gave us a brief run down on different helicopters and drones and where we can start without getting in over our heads. i highly suggest people come to this store as the staff all seem friendly and genuinely seem to care about the customers.

Purchased an Rc boat about a week ago, it was the display model. I asked about a discount but was told that it was in new condition and had never been run. The two employees there put the boat in the box and brought it to the checkout. By the time we had a chance to open the boat and try to use it we where 8 hours away and home. The boat would not work whatsoever and upon further inspection I found that the inside of the boat was dirty and there was corrosion on many of the wires and electronic parts. The employees there that day may not have known, though I doubt it, but I did see them open the boat and look inside but nothing was said. Luckily the manufacturer is sending replacement parts. I will not do business with this store again, mainly due to what others have said- lack of customer service.

Few things worth mentioning. For starters the customer service is not very good. They will sell you the wrong part in a heartbeat if your not careful. Then they hate giving refunds so it becomes a major hassle. Secondly, the prices there are WAY more expensive than any other hobby store in the area. So if I can get it elsewhere I always do. Half the employees are polite, but the other half (including the owner) are/is rude. Lastly, they dont really know whats going on at all as far as RC. I found @debbsRCworld off military highway has experienced employees and they actually enjoy helping you. Every time I go to debs Im happy I did. Almost every time I went to hobby town I felt like I got ripped off. Thats not how I want my son to get into hobbies. So we wont be back.

I got a slash 4x4 with a shot battery and the people there said it might be shot because a lot of there products sit for a long time. He blasted it on there charger and it still didnt work and I never got compensated for it... And recently I ordered a part that was sapose to take one week to come. it has been 2 weeks. And half the people I talked too lied about a delivery date. And the other half told me they had no ideal when it would be in. Very shabby on there part. Dont waste your time with them. Just order your parts off Amazon for a good price a guaranteed shipping. And they cover any faulty iteams they send... No wonder hobby stores are going out of business.... They officially lost mine...

I sense that folks leaving negative feedback here just walk into Hobbytown having no clue about what they want, havent done any research and/or dont ask the right questions. Every time Ive shopped at Hobbytown, the staff has been incredibly helpful and always goes out of their way to see that they have, and I get, what I ask for. Of course youre going to pay a little mark up from shopping online. But I chalk it up as a convenience fee. Bottom line; If youre gonna leave negative feedback, at least use proper grammar. Otherwise you come off sounding dumb and your argument will be discounted. No? Ciao!

This place is fantastic! My husband bought a model helicopter online while on deployment and didnt know the paint and tools were not included. I wanted to surprise my husband on his birthday with the things he needed to build the helicopter, so I called and gave them the model number of the kit, and the manager hand picked out everything I needed for me, without even me having to ask. Such a relief, because I dont know ANYTHING about that kind of stuff! (My son really loves their Lego items as well- HUGE variety) Ill never forget the experience I had with them, and Ill continue going

Lit fam, lit But seriously this is hands down the best shop in our area Customer service is great, very knowledgeable Large select of parts for every model Staff doesnt push the expensive models/parts on you, they will find you the best in stock for your budget Recently I purchased a motor and esc combo, I was sold in my mind for a certain one and the staff recommended a completely different one for my traxxas slash 4x4, and honestly I couldnt be happier with the purchase. Online is great but you cant beat the service and knowledge this staff has.

The employees at this store are amazing! They are individual, walking encyclopedias on various topics. Also, they are incredibly friendly, and they absolutely LOVE what they sell. Not only do I feel like a kid when I enter HobbyTown USA, I also feel like Ive entered a room full of friends. Please support these small hobby shops. Without them, we will be left with Walmart like employees who know nothing about anything. Or equally worse, we will be left to the vacuum of faceless, internet-based shopping with no one to answer questions.

Absolutely horrible customer service. The store manager talked down to my wife and was very rude on the phone. Purchased a gyrocopter and got about 1 hour use out of it before one of the 4 motors failed. The store manager rudely claims the small gyrocopter was in a hard crash even though nothing was broken. She came to this determination because there were small scratches on the propellers. Nothing else broken, bent, mangled etc, just that motor stopped working in mid flight.

Great store, I go here all the time for many reasons. They are always willing to help me find a part and if they dont have it they provide other options if available or will order it in for me. I have been going to this store for about the last 2 years, some of the older reviews here mention rude staff but all those members I believe they are referencing are no longer there. Those that are there now all have a great attitude and provide awesome service.

I waited outside the door 5 minutes for the store to open and promptly went in as the doors opened. I was the only customer in the store and proceeded to look at the train section for O gauge buildings(nothing but track). What annoyed me is that the two employees there were talking amongst themselves, not the least bit curious if they could help me. I didnt ask for help, but basic customer service doesnt require it.

This store is packed with everything I need for my drone. The customer service is top notch! My children like to browse through the toys and games that you cant find in most toy stores or major retailers. Store manager Josh is always available and very knowledgeable! If you need a source for all of you hobby needs this is the place!
