Don’t buy appliances from Sears, Roanoke VA, Valleyview Mall location. Before purchasing anything from Sears please go online and look at their reviews at: Sears Holdings Corporation BBB page. DONT BE FOOLED by their A+ RATING with FOUR stars. Sears Holdings have 98.2 percent customers with a negative experience. 98.5 percent of their customers are unlikely to refer a friend. Sears Holding have only 1.2 percent of customers with a positive experience. The sales personnel are not very honest. The sales manager and most of the sales personnel are not very friendly when trying to resolve the problem they caused. I ordered a $2,800.00 Kenmore Elite refrigerator on Dec. 26th because our fridge croaked Christmas Eve and all our food was placed in five coolers. After going to sears to pick up my fridge on Dec. 28th we found out that it was the wrong fridge. The sales person MR Sims told me that due to a miscommunication that he ordered the wrong fridge. Believe me there was no miscommunication it was his mistake. I took a picture of the fridge and the tag on the front so I could show it to my wife when I got back home. I talked to the manager and other personnel in the appliance department and they all talked as if I had a problem and I would need to come back to the store and cancel the order and reorder my fridge. I didnt make a mistake they made the mistake and it is their problem not mine. When I first talked to the salesman and the manager they lied to me stating that they could deliver my fridge the following Tuesday or Wednesdays! I contacted them by phone on Monday Dec. 28th and told the floor manager that I was leaving my home and was headed to the store to buy the fridge. They told me again that it could be delivered by Wednesday. I arrived less than 45 minutes later and purchased the fridge. Then they told me that they couldnt deliver the fridge until Saturday at the earliest. I explained to them that they had just told me Tuesday or Wednesday. They explained to me that they probably had a lot of online orders come in during the last 45 minutes. The store personnel suggested that we pick up our fridge. So we decided to pick our fridge up ourselves to save time. They contacted me on Monday Dec. 28th to let me know that my fridge had arrived and was ready for pick up. I called the store as an anonymous customer and asked how their delivery schedule looked to deliver a fridge and they said Saturday. If they could deliver my fridge on Saturday that means that they hadnt scheduled any other deliveries over the last three days. It sounds like a bait and switch situation to lure customers like myself to volunteer to pick up their own heavy appliances. Dont trust what the sears personnel tell you. They have proved to me that they believe that their customers are wrong and they will tell you anything to make a sell and to save money on deliveries. I cancelled my order and purchased a bigger, nicer refrigerator for less money from a competitive appliance dealership in the same mall. Dont forget to look at Sears reviews before you buy anything. Dont buy from sears Roanoke at Valleyview Mall. Yours truly, foundation truth.

Salesman was not knowledgeable about any products we asked about but that didnt stop him from making stuff up to try to sell to us. We did our own independent research and then bought a washer/dryer set that was shockingly cheaper at Sears than anywhere else. He tried to shove the "protection" plan down our throats until I finally stopped being nice about telling him no. It took him over half an hour to ring us up and let us pay, he seemingly has no idea how to use their computer system and had to keep having managers come over to help out. After we had paid and left he called us and told us wed have to come back because hed rang us up incorrectly so we did and it took him another 20 minutes to get it right. After all of that the day they were supposed to deliver and install the washer and dryer the Sears installation crew showed up and didnt bring the hoses and steam kit that wed purchased that was needed for installation so they hooked it up without these parts so we cant use some of the features. They told us that the store would ship the parts to us and tried to convince us that we could then install it the rest of the way on our own until we finally just said no and they said theyd come back and install it when the parts were delivered. Parts never showed up. I called the store and they never pick up the phone. Finally after weeks they pick up and they tell me that the crew will have to bring the parts that they wont ship them and that theyd call and schedule an appointment. Call never came, crew never came back to finish the install, cant reach anyone on the phone. Ive been trying to call them for three weeks now to get someone to schedule another appointment and no one ever picks up the phone. It rings for a specified amount of time and then it hangs up on you. Ive called the corporate line and they say they cant help and that Ill have to call the store. Asked if they could connect me with the store and they said the only number they had was the same one I was calling. You would think buying a set of $1600 each washer and dryers would get you a higher level of service than this but youd be wrong. Im going to have to drive 45 minutes to return to this store to ever get anything else out of them.

Yesterday on 7/10/2013 I encountered one of the rudest, most apathetic and disgruntled people I have ever encountered in my life. Shockingly, this person worked at Sears. This associate acted as if I was asking a "stupid" question when I asked where a department was. It was clear I was not finding what I was looking for, yet I had to chase her out of hiding to ask her for assistance. After she sarcastically answered my question, I thankd her as she rolled her eyes. I didnt get a name. Older woman. Short gray hair. Working the Tool/Hardware section at Valley View Mall Roanoke, VA 7/10/2013 at roughly around 4:30PM. Its not a question if this person belongs in customer service, its a question whether or not this person belongs around people in general. She seems to hate civilization. Oh yeah, I found what I was looking for. But didnt buy it at Sears. This associate is the type of person that will make customers simply not even want to walk by her. Disgusting personality, unaware of manners, and incredibly unpleasant. Thank you Sears for helping me appreciate great customer service elsewhere!

Bad Management. After spending weekly on my home and family needs at sears valley view mall , I was asked to leave the store by Manger name Derek and he called the police on me .what an embarrassing moment to me in front all customers and it was just for exchanging my pants for smaller size . I had no recipe but when I bought it , they took my phone number for any time exchange thats what I was told . Derek is very races thats what it appears to me ...I done nothing to be treated like this by sears management. Or because they are going out of business , managers losing jobs is stressed out. What a shame I am very upset and really this is the first time I get hurt like this because all my and my family needs I buy from sears and look how this Jerk treated me. If you go there its very hard to find help . If you call you will spend all day if if some one answered. I stood next to check out and girl standing there doing nothing but she didnt bother to ask if help needed . They need to close their doors a stop acting like they can stay in business.
