This review is about the coffee bar and overall experience I have had at the whole foods Newport News coffee boat. I think the boat was a good idea in condor but bad in practicality. The boat does not allow two people to move around freely and serve people. I know this because multiple people have told me. They normally only have one person anyway and that is bad too because it takes too long to get just a regular cup of coffee and shot of milk. The baristas also need training there and they dont offer some of the things you would expect from whole foods coffee. I dont get specialty items because the times that I have ordered a latte or cappuccino it has been disappointing. I also dont think they pick people that really like working in a coffee shop type environment. Overall there is much improvement needed if Newport News whole foods wants to measure up to the brand image at other locations. Hopefully it gets better. I will continue to frequent for a while at least as there arent many good coffee choices on the peninsula.

Weve always loved Whole Foods and were so thankful when we moved to the area there was a store here! In the three months weve been shopping here, the store was kept clean and tidy and the workers were polite and friendly. This was NNOT the case last night! The store and staff were in deplorable condition! Food samples were dirty, the produce wasnt taken care of. The staff was by the worse, a worker was talking and texting on his phone during his work hours, we forgot something in produce - we discovered another worker texting! Then we checkout, and our checker was spaced out - thats the only way to describe it. For example, we told him we have three bottles of RO refills and he was ike Ah thats the .99 ones. Im not sure if the workers and the lack of their interest in working at the store has any bearing on Amazon taking over Whole Foods. Whatever it is, Whole Foods needs t get their act in shape and revitalize the store and its workers. As for us, if Trader Joe"s or another heath market will have bottled water machines.

I frequent Whole Foods in many cities and was looking forward to visiting this one. Good selection of products, but was disappointed with the poor customer service I received and witnessed, especially when compared to other locations. Whole Foods promotes a high standard of service and connecting with their community, but I could not even get a hello from an associate that was giving out samples or an introduction-product knowledge for the samples. I did not see any associates on the floor greeting customers when walking by or asking if any of us needed help finding products in aisles (when there were even specialists present). Express check out line did not have clear signs on how the line is supposed to go, and was told by male cashier to "move over" with a handful of us customers looking puzzled by the unclear and unwelcoming communication. We are not herds of cows, but customers that contribute to your stores bottom line and would appreciate a simple "please" and short explanation so we understand what is needed.

If you think its expensive...take the "value tour" and buy their 365 brand, which is a good value and a premium product. The food is much healthier than at a regular market. The meat is ten times tastier than the water-logged stuff at most stores. I noticed two or three cups of liquid in my pan after cooking meat from Walmart. Thats at least a pound of water that Im paying for...at the cost of meat. What a rip-off ! Organic foods are much cheaper than at small stores and when I cant get to a farmers market its a convenient option. I LOVE WHOLE FOODS !

I love this store. I find the diversity of fresh, local, American and International foods unequaled. Its like Games Market and Harris Teeter combined but better. It costs, I find, are similar to Farm Fresh or HT. Shop Whole Foods 365 label for savings on organic foods. Also bulk is a great place to save. You can sample the hot bar for Free, also. Use the small cups or ask for help. I am so glad this beautiful market with exceptional food and customer service is in Hampton Roads.

I love this store! BUT the prices out weigh the good. I just cant believe with how large this company has become they cant get better prices! I spend close to 100 dollars for 2 bags of groceries! Its 4.99 for beats, 7 dollars for chocolate milk, 6 dollars for mixed nuts, I could go on and on.i was really hoping with the store expanding they could start offering customers better deals. Guess not, Ill stick with trader Joes for now

Bought a rotisserie chicken on Wed Feb 03, some Asian lettuce rolls and sushi. The chicken was very, very dry so Im making soup out of it. Shockingly, the sell by date has yet to come: Sunday Feb 07. That means your chicken could be sitting under those heat lamps for FIVE days and theyd still sell it to you. The lettuce wraps were tough - old outer leaves - and the sushi, meh. So Keros is still holds first place.

Very well organized store. Typical Whole Food type of environment but this Wholes Foods location has an outdoor dining area and occasionally has live music. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The location can be found easily from the main road and is part of the Newport News Tech Center - which is loitered with a lot of nice stores, restaurants, and even a park! Parking lot is well designed and clean.

Normally like whole foods but not this location. This location has very bad selection of items and staff is not competent the buffet is the worse it has very bad selection and many of the items are old. The soup bar often is empty... I give whole foods 5 stars for locations in other cities like nyc or nova but this newport news store should really be investigated by corporate for quality.

I had the best conversation with Dee today, 3/9/2016 at 12:30 p.m. at the check-out. She is the coolest! We talked about really intersting topics. Totally appreciated. I love shopping here and the check-out scene is beyond any other supermarket . If you have few items they get you through. Thank you DEE! And thank you Whole Foods for coming to us! Loves and kisses. Cheap and yummy lunch spot of you can portion well. Lunch tacos on Wednesday are the bomb. You can shop around with a beer from the bar, which has a pretty good selection making weekend groceries that much more bearable. Only ding that the food is never really quite the temperature you want it to be dining in but then again were talking about a grocery.

I live in Suffolk and shopped at the Whole Foods in Newport News today only to get home and review my receipt to find I was over charged on a couple of items that I would not have bought at the price I was charged ~~ not happy about the over charge and will definitely will remember to check my receipt before leaving the store if I shop there again

We go because they have some ingredients we cant find elsewhere. However, a lot of things seem over priced and were rarely ever satisfied with what we get at the salad/hot bar. Staff is friendly which helps a lot. But still feel like the value isnt there for the money on most items.
