A few months ago my brother asked me to help him buy a used car. He found one online he was interested in at this location (Sheehy Nissan in Mechanicsville). When he told me it was a Sheehy location I was skeptical because I had purchased a car from Sheehy Ford (you can read about the ordeal with my google review of Sheehy Ford Lincoln in Midlothian) and it was not a positive experience, but this wasn’t for me so we went. My brother had called ahead and scheduled a time to meet with the Internet Manager Shawn Tyner. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our scheduled time and waiting for a good 20 minutes before we were able to meet with Mr. Tyner. After my brother confirmed the vehicle he wanted to look at we were seated at a table and Mr. Tyner left, I assumed to get the keys to the vehicle. I assumed wrong. He came back about 5 minutes later with a bunch of paperwork and started asking my brother for personal information, this culminated with him asking about financing and whether he is going through his bank or wants to go through them. Keep in mind we have not looked at any vehicle yet, so at this point I interject and ask if we can look at a car first before he discusses terms? Mr. Tyner fires back that he wants to make sure he has financing options available, my brother explains he is going to pay cash for the car, this is met with a reaction of disbelief and response of “like with money from your bank account?” At this point I’m pretty annoyed and ask if that’s okay and could he look at the car he came in here to look at because I think its pretty ridiculous that we’ve been here over half an hour and we haven’t even looked at the specific car he came in to see yet. Mr. Tyner responds that he just wants to make sure he can pay and quote “you wouldn’t let someone drive a $10,000 dollar car without checking them out, that’s like you coming into my house and asking to dance on my table or something.” Huh? I’m stunned and frankly don’t know how to respond to this comment and just stare at him in disbelief. We came into a car dealership to look at a car, we are not at anyone’s domicile and we certainly aren’t asking to dance on anything, I’m not really seeing the parallel. Mr. Tyner gets up and says he will find the keys and leaves to his back office. During this time I am pretty upset and if I was here for myself I would have gotten up and left, but this was for my brother and he was interested in the car we came in to see. Mr. Tyner comes back after another 10 minutes of waiting with no keys and says he is trying to track them down. He walks over to the other side of the show rooms and begins hanging out with 2 other salesmen who work there. Notice I say hanging out with because he wasn’t asking them for the keys to the car or doing anything to further assist us, they were more shooting the bull and discussing the weekend. I am ready to leave and am very upset at this point, but once again not there for myself so stick with it. He finally comes back and approximately 45 minutes after we arrived are finally able to take a look at the car we scheduled an appointment to come see. My brother test drives it, thinks it is okay, and asks if they have anything else similar on the lot. Mr. Tyner mentions one other vehicle but explains that anything that costs less than $10,000 dollars is hard to find there(keep in mind $10,000 is what they were asking for this particular vehicle we had come in to see, but we never told him we only had that amount to spend). My brother explains he could go higher, but we will be on our way. We leave. My brother eventually settled on a similar car at another local dealership and I would strongly recommend you do the same. Sheehy Nissan confirmed all of my prior negative beliefs from dealing with Sheehy Ford. Sheehy = no good.

Where do I even start….Here’s a list Purchased brand new Nissan in 2011 along with VIP service o Was told with VIP service, you can come in anytime for an oil change and be in and out in 30 minutes. o Free Car Wash at every visit Scheduled service appointment for fist oil change o Waited an hour and a half o Got car wash Had a funny sound with a tire/wheel, called for an appointment o Waited another hour and a half o Service department rep says, uh we just think you need a wheel balance o Me: Ok go ahead and do that and paid over $60 o Driving home, it’s still not right, oh and no car wash o Drove for a week or more just to make sure I wasn’t imaging things Made another appointment • Service Department says, I need an alignment and something else • Me: Ok, go ahead (Paid $180 give or take) • No Car Wash o Drove for a few weeks, STILL not right Made another appointment Finally service department rep got tech to ride in car with me Tech figures out what’s wrong with it in about 30 seconds What’s wrong with it is covered under warranty So I’ve spent almost $300 on things that didn’t need to be done I complain about this and the fact that I’ve only gotten 1 car wash Promise me 2 fill ups and a full detail on my car to make up for the money I spent (would not refund it) • Got one fill up • The detail job was a joke, didn’t even vacuum the back of the car only front seats and floor. Then parked it under a tree with some kind of red berries falling off it…car a mess before I even left! 2012 3-4 Oil Changes with appointments during that time, with only 1 car wash. Waits 1-2 hours. 2013 Purchased husband a car from them along with VIP Service (yeah I know pretty dumb) 2013 After both husband and I have to keep waiting for over and hour for oil changes, no car washes and several problems with husbands car, I call and complain again. o Promised a loaner vehicle at EVERY service no matter what it is, so we don’t’ have to wait. 2013-Present Every time I called to schedule anything it was like pulling teeth to get a loaner, transferred from one person to another without any explanation. Rude, unhelpful people at every turn. 2 days ago, called because husbands 2013 driver’s door would not open (no reason, just stopped opening). Told them we need to drop it off and get a loaner because we can’t drive it like that o Well this is when all hell broke loose. o Tina, says oh I know who you are and you were rude to one of my techs. o I asked to speak to GM after she threatened to talk to GM.. o GM is the biggest D-bag there is. Rude condescending egotistical jerk. He told me that apparently there wasn’t anything they could do to make me happy so he was refunding our VIP cost (prorated of course). So I say to you, the unsuspecting buyer, go ANYWHERE else. This place is a joke and I’m pretty sure they are the cause of my high blood pressure. We will not only never purchase a vehicle here, but never another Nissan because of the horrible experiences we faced constantly with this place!

I found a particular vehicle I liked at this dealership and put in an online request and got a call back pretty much instantly. I set up an appointment to see the car but explained my job doesnt have a set "closing" time so I may not get up there until the next day and they said thats perfectly fine the car will be ready and waiting. Ready my left foot. I went back and forth with them about this vehicle and I explained I was anxious to buy a car again after my last horrible ordeal at a different dealership, and I also explained profusely that I would be driving close to an hour one way to get to their dealership so I wanted all of the financing and car details to be discussed prior to me driving up there so there was no long drawn out wait at the dealership with my young kids. Needless to say I demanded a "finance manager" call me multiple times since the guy who helped me "couldnt talk details to me" and I never got that call prior to me getting to the dealership. I decided to call the company that did my pre-approval to speed up the process and get the financing details from them since this dealership was obviously not going to help me in any way and hit the road to go check out this vehicle with the finance terms ready to go. I get there and the vehicle is up front like they said, but I notice right off the bat a huge dent in the side. There are also two huge scraps (down to the metal not just a surface scratch) on the driver side and the gentlemen who is helping me says casually "oh you can just use a paint pen to fix that". Why would I want to use a $10 paint pen to halfway fix a gouge in the doors when I am about to drop $17K on a vehicle? That means extra money out of my pocket, and they also have a zero negotiation policy on used vehicles, and now I see why. In addition to that, the vehicle had not been cleaned out or detailed inside (not even close to being "ready to go" like they told me two days prior), or even on the outside for that matter (I paid for a car wash on my way home), and when I started up the vehicle all of the maintenance required reminders were flashing on the screen. The car was not ready to be sold at all. The sticker on the windshield said the oil needed to be changed at 92,000 miles, and I bought it at 91,422 with no records of the oil being changed other than verbally when the guy called me back after I sent him an email about my concerns. Not only that, but when they first dropped the financing details on the table they were way off from what I was told by the finance company. That took almost two hours to fix, which would have been avoided if someone would have called me like I asked, and then it took another two hours of standing around with screaming kids before signing for the vehicle and being able to leave. I should have just left in the beginning. Like every other dealership, they dont care about you, they just care about getting your money.
