I visited this shop in late winter 2017. I tried on several dresses and also went to other stores. I was very clear in my communication that I had a specific budget for my dress and that number included any necessary alterations. The sales associate kept going back to this one dress. This specific dress would fit in my budget and "it was going to fit beautifully". I had plenty of time to keep shopping but "this dress is the one and you will be under your budget" The dress was described to me as last springs (2016) line. Supposedly, it was unable to be sold yet because of the size. They said it was not an average dress size. They said they could give me a great price that would fit in my budget. It was stated that I would need very little alterations and I could stay in my budget. I even tried to talk them down another $100 and they insisted that they couldnt because if they ordered it new for me then it would be $1400. They neglected to tell me that they couldnt possibly buy it new because it was discontinued in 2014. I bought the dress and it is absolutely beautiful. I got home and realized they took all of the tags off the dress. I left my dress at my daughters house so my fiancé wouldnt peek at it. I wanted to look at it online and have photos to show off to my friend. I could not find the dress on their website so I called to get the model number from the shop. It was a long dragged out request. I was even asked why I needed the photo when I had the dress. It didnt make sense to me. I just wanted to see my dress in a photo to share. Finally, the manager told me exactly what to type in and I found an image online. Later as I looked at the details that followed some of the photos, I learned that this dress from last spring was a 2007 model dress, discontinued in 2014. "Spring 2007 Model 2704 Moonlight Wedding Dress. Strapless Lace applique over English net mermaid gown with chapel train. Discontinued style in 2014." Frustrated with being lied to, I got past this and embraced the fact that I do love my dress. Ive been waiting until July to get it altered for my big day in October. SO NOW, this is the reason for my review. I went to get my dress altered. I got two estimates for alterations. It is going to cost between $400-$600 to get my dress altered. The lace has to be removed in order to hem it. It is approx. $300 just to hem my dress less than 3 inches. Other necessary alterations will be another couple hundred dollars. I am extremely upset. I am not one to sweat the small stuff. It is heartbreaking to be mislead by people whom you trusted with one of the most precious treasures for your big day. These alteration costs will obviously put me well over my budget if I can even afford to spend another $400+ The tailors told me that the bridal associate should have told me that this type dress has to have the lace removed and the expense is higher! I am disheartened by my experience at this shop. I feel like I have been fooled by used car salesman. I am embarrassed that I ever did business here. I will not allow this experience to ruin my day. I just hope that this review will help others decide whether or not they want to purchase their dress from this shop. I know I am not the only bride on a budget. I also know that I am not the only bride who leans on the bridal associate to give honest information to find the perfect dress. Instead it is obvious that they were looking for the final sale!

I have nothing but kind things to say about the ladies who work at Simply Modern Bridal! I originally came to the store during an open house where I won a gift certificate. I used the money towards my beautiful wedding dress! Picking out my dress was so fun! I had a group of ladies with me and Sarah and Theresa made them feel so welcome! I must have tried on fifteen dresses and ended up with the first one I put on, but never once did I feel rushed! Sarah is my wedding fairy-godmother. From my veil, to my shoes, to my garter she remembers every detail and makes sure everything you want is perfect! I literally walked into Simply Modern 7 months after my dress fitting and asked: "Do you remember which veil I tried on that day?" and Sarah new exactly which one I wanted! She helped me pick out the perfect shoes in my color, and when I wasnt happy with how my garter belt looked Sarah personally called the company to get me one special made. All of this personal attention to detail does not mean you are going to break the budget at Simply Modern. I personally bought my dress, veil, shoes and garter all for under $1,000, but was treated like a beautiful bride and their most important customer every step of the way. I highly recommend visiting Simply Modern Bridal if you live in the Fredericksburg area. They are what made wedding planning fun, and I cant say enough nice things about their business.

Teresa is the sweetest person ever!! She helped me select two dresses, one of which needed to be altered (MAJORLY!) and one of which needed to be ordered through the designer. For the dress that needed to be altered - she has THE best seamstress on staff. I got my dress back within two weeks and it fit like a glove. I never in a million years thought it would turn out as beautifully and perfect as it did! She is incredibly talented. For the dress that needed to be ordered - Teresa did a phenomenal job following up to make sure I had the dress in time, even in the midst of a hurricane. She remembered the day I needed the dress, followed up with the designer on her own accord, without me having to check in, and communicated with me through the entire process so that I would not have to worry. Teresa runs a beautiful shop, has incredible customer service, an amazing seamstress, great communication, and her follow up is exceptional. She took the worry out of my big day in a major way. Her staff is very friendly and personable, which goes a long way with me. On top of all that, her prices are extremely reasonable. A dress that would have cost me several thousand dollars had I purchased it through the designer or elsewhere, cost me around $1000 (to INCLUDE the cost of alterations). I could not be more pleased with my experience at Simple Modern Bridal!

I cannot say enough about the staff at Simply Modern Bridal. After going to Davids Bridal and trying on the entire store I was completely frustrated and ready to give up and buy a dress that I didnt really want. My wedding was fast tracked and I had two weeks to find a dress. We went into Simply Modern Bridal looking for a sash for the dress I didnt want but had already ordered and a veil. While there I tried on one gown that was everything I wanted in a wedding dress for my simple backyard wedding at my home. Unfortunately the dress did not fit and could not be ordered in time for my wedding. The ladies at Simply Modern Bridal convinced me to try the dress on to see if alterations were possible with the existing gown. AND THEY WERE! I got the feeling that every bride is supposed to get when they adjusted the gown to show me what it would look like after alterations and finished it off with the perfect veil! The staff here are awesome and attentive. They genuinely cared about my experience and my happiness with whatever gown I chose. I also want to mention that I believe they do appointments only on a regular basis, but I walked in and received fantastic service on a Saturday an hour before closing. I cannot say enough about Simply Modern Bridal. Do not waste your time at chain stores like Davids Bridal.
