Nice place to shop, but I would like to know what I am supporting with my purchases. Specifically where do the proceeds go? This vital piece of information is missing from all the websites and descriptions I can find about Castaways. Most non-profits are very upfront about what their cause supports. And purchases at this volunteer-run shop are supporting that cause, yet I cant find any information about what Im supporting. If I gave them the contents of my house to sell.... I want to know where that money is going, the same is true if I buy $100 worth of clothing and knick knacks.

Castaways dumpsters rate a five for sure, volunteers throw away literally a ton of perfectly good clothing, furniture, and household goods every day. Inside, wide clean isles with few goods on the shelves...too sparsely stocked given what they throw away. All for the sake of "efficient" management. Back in the day, before they built this new facility and reorganized, Castaways was the perfect thrift shop, packed with ALL OF THE DONATIONS, nothing useable wasted, and only one dumpster part filled with actual broken goods. So a three for the inside of the store, five for the dumpsters.

Some things are a bit high priced. But they do have 1/2 off sales on items at the end of the month. I have purchased quite a few things in last few months. Its thrift shopping so sometimes ya have to keep coming back until you find the thing at the right price. I have found the experience to be very pleasing. Great volunteers and Im sure the funds are used to do more good in the community.

Dropped in on a Monday at noon. There were lotsa people shopping but it didnt feel crowded. I swear they had one of everything...Most items were very inexpensive; however, I thought the furniture was a bit overpriced. I loved that the clothes were arranged by sizes, as some resale shops just rack them in no particular order. Their stock changes daily so I will definately be back.

I realize the monies go to charity but the pricing on some items are just too high. You expect a "thrift" store to be the place you like go and then to talk about your GREAT finds at a great price. Its just not going to happen at Castaways. P.S. I have donated hundreds of dollars in merchandise then I look for something I might want or need only to be discouraged by the pricing.

It is a clean efficiently run thrift shop with good quality stuff. Everything from fishing gear and tools to clothes and lots of kitchen stuff. It is also a great place to volunteer if you have some free time, they put a lot of money back into the community.

There wasnt enough people on the registers. The line was very long and slow moving. Other than that it was good. I think the prices are starting to get to much for some of the items. Just because it is a name brand shouldnt mean the prices are double!

Great place to shop. I always find something. You can drop off your castaways and chose what charity you would like your stuff to go to. Clothes, shoes, knickknacks, dishes, glasses, pot and pans etc.

What a ripoff. People donate to the churches in town and they try to sell things over the cost when it was new or they put it in the trash. Disgraceful
