I frequent many bookstores - from the big brand names to the little nook and cranny guys - and I must say that this bookstore is by far my absolute favorite. If forced to describe the store in one word, that word would be: quaint. It is an adorable little shop with an atmosphere that borders on magical for me. Something about the place clicked inside me. I live a good 45 minutes away with traffic, but if I could, I would drive there daily. The signs outside the shop are inviting, cutely decorative, and the inside is even better. Fantasy books of all categories and sub-genres are packed within the store and to be able to dive through such a great and varied selection is an honestly wonderful experience. Not to mention the comics, which is the main reason I go here. The comics section is ridiculously large and amazing and brings me joy just flipping through such great titles the store has on hand. Old, new, free; Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, others, etc., theyre all there and they are all great. Even manga! And shirts, buttons, pins, DVD box sets, book marks - there is very little that this store DOESNT possess. And the owner of the place is so nice and honestly just so lovely. I enjoy talking to her the few times I have and she has always made me feel so welcome. The awesome ambiance of the store is made by her inviting attitude and the natural atmosphere of the shop. An excellent place to shop, 10/10 I highly - and frequently - recommend this bookstore. I am actually planning on most likely visiting today or tomorrow, hopefully, haha.

I like that this is a locally owned business. But I, alas, am not in the target audience for sci fi/comics, and the trade-in for credit never really did me any good. I feel the used books are so overpriced in relation to the credit, and you only get the credit via buying another overpriced book. Id prefer a straight discount on that days purchase. But the biggest issue for me is that I have become sensitized to mold due to a previous apartment that I cant spend more than 5 minutes in this store. Other allergy sufferers, beware.

This place is worth going to if only for the experience. Basically an old house just filled floor-to-ceiling with used books, comics and all kinds of geek gear. You will find stuff here that you havent seen on the shelves in decades. Its not just sci-fi and fantasy lots of mystery fiction and nonfiction books as well. Such friendly and nice staff too! This is definitely worth doing a little shopping local in Falls Church especially if you like to do a little digging for a deal.

Very pleasant location. The staff know their stock well and are more than willing to help you find what you need. Their selection is a true pleasure to browse- the atmosphere of this bookstore is absolutely classic and comfortable. It feels like they have a little bit of everything, graphic novels, comics, classics, and contemporary. They also accept books you have to offer and they give you store credit, which is perfect because I LOVE coming back!

More than thirty years ago I was a kid who went to catholic school across the street. I bought my comics and scifi novels there and for an oppressed indentured altar boy it was like a door to another universe. That this store is still here providing that same portal in a world where the adventure of book browsing is a nearly extinct phenomenon is the kinda thing that gives one hope for the future. Seriously.

This is a great place to find older books, comic books, trade comic books, and series or part of the series of books. The owner is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are very good on most things. A lot of the comic books are brand new and go for trade value, but they have some great deals here.

I used to go here to get my comic books back in the early 90s. Great staff, great service and they always had the most interesting collection of other books. Unique stuff you wouldnt find in your chain bookstore. If I still lived in the area I would likely still be shopping there. I may just pop in for a visit.

Small, cozy, and chock full of books and comics. Classic used bookstore style with a friendly and helpful staff. Somewhat tight space but in an old, inviting way. The sci fi and fantasy selection is extensive and fun to browse due to the owners personalized written commentaries.

The people who work there are all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about things. They are also fun to talk to if its not too busy. They will order a book for you if they dont have it they also have comic books, t-shirts, and posters.

After searching all chain bookstores in the area and calling many no chain bookstores I called hole in the wall books and they had the book I needed in stock! They even held it for me until I could get it. Excellent!
