Strongly recommend you do not patronize the American History Store in Gettysburg PA, but if you choose to do so buyer beware as they are not customer friendly and their no return policy is unfair and extremely rigid. A model submarine was purchased for me (price $90.34) on 12 December 2015 and was given to me as a Christmas gift. When unwrapping the gift it was sealed in its original packing box which I then proceeded to open. I found the model in pieces and unrepairable. My first trip back to Gettysburg was 21 April 2016. Though Id forgotten to bring the item with me I asked the clerk - whom I believed to be the store owner - if I could exchange my broken model for a new one or if out of stock a cash refund. I explained I had the receipt, broken model, and the original box it came in and would bring it in next time where we could complete the transaction. He refused to even consider resolving the situation of damaged goods bought from his store. I then asked him about what could be done when he started to explain how long it was after the purchase and that he would not consider any options. He then rudely pointed to the counter which displayed a notice "ALL SALES FINAL". So it didnt matter if it was four months, one week, or one day, if you purchase from them and leave the store, that is it! What a convenient disclaimer to protect the store owners from the effect of selling damaged merchandise. From my experience when ever you see a notice like this stay as far away from this kind of store. Should you want to make a purchase from the American History Store and risk wasting your money, insist on a 100% inspection of whatever you buy before leaving the store. Even if the item is sealed and packed in a box, have the clerk open and unpack it in front of you so you can make a thorough inspection before leaving the store. Make sure to also witness how the item is repacked and sealed. As I painfully later discovered if you dont do this and leave the store with an item still sealed in its original packing, and if damaged, you will not receive courteous customer service, a replacement or a refund.

I purchased a model from "The American History Store" as a gift. I expected the clerk to put the model in a box in front of me but instead he went into the back and brought out an already packaged one. Being the trusting customer I am, I figured it was fine. I carefully handled, stored and wrapped the gift to give my friend for Christmas. After my friend removed all of the wrapping paper, he proceeded to open the box that the model was packed in- only to discover that it was in pieces and completely unfixable. Disappointed but not hopeless, I got the receipt and we decided to bring the model back to the store. Unfortunately, their customer service was just as broken as the item I bought from them. The same clerk I bought the item from (probably the owner) refused to issue a refund, exchange, or a replacement even with the receipt, faulty model, and original packaging accounted for. What a waste of time, effort and money. I trusted this store- dont make the same mistake.

Decent selection, cool guns(live firing and replica). Im a capitalist, so I have no problem with the store owners being extremely rude to me, as long as Im not required to purchase from them. After walking around for 20 minutes, I was told to make a decision(not in nice tones). When I didnt make up my mind, I was told rudely to leave the store. Which I did, without purchasing anything. If they want to trade their poor attitudes for my poor Google review, thats OK with me.
