I received the WORST customer service experience I have EVER received from this store! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! EVER!!!! PLEASE!!! I live in the neighborhood and I quite possibly may go outside the store urging people to go somewhere else. After my iMAC crashed I took it in for a diagnosis. They said it may be 4 or 5 days before they look at it. Ok, thats awhile but its fine. A week later I called to hear an update, they said itd be a day or two. I call back and find out its a corrupted hard drive. Ok, Im annoyed it took so long but they finally checked it out. I buy a backup hard drive from their store to have my data backed up (they do it). I finally get my computer back 3 weeks after I initially dropped it off. I immediately get home and plug in my computer and guess what? More error codes!! I literally bring my computer back to them in LESS THAN 20 minutes from when I picked it up (backup too). Fast forward 1 week and I call asking for an update once again. This time I get the question "Did you drop off 2 back up hard drives?" At this point this sounded really weird. They say there was no data on my backup hard drive. THEY LOST ALL OF MY DATA!!!!!! This was 1 month after the initial drop off. Id like to point out they WIPED MY COMPUTER CLEAN before noticing that the backup (THAT THEY PROVIDED) was not accessible by the computer (broken backup hard drive). So 1 month after I initially dropped off my computer they had lost ALL OF MY DATA, charged me for a broken hard drive (with ALL of my "data"), and charged me money to wipe my computer clean. I COULD HAVE DONE THIS FOR FREE, BY MYSELF, AT HOME all the while drinking beer and getting super angry at the same time! It would have been so much more satisfying than dealing with this! At this point I got the ok (by Simply Mac) to send in my hard drive to a data retrieval service. I asked about services they recommended but at this point I was skeptical of anything coming from Simply Mac. I searched the web and sent in my hard drive to a company in which I thought looked like the best since I want ALL of my data back. I got the quote of $1700 then proceeded to go back into the store (this time at least the 12+ times in many weeks) and asked what they would do. They actually wanted me to PAY to have it sent back because they said they knew someone who could do it "cheaper." The diagnosis was the read/write heads on the drive were broken. Fast forward 1 more month after I got the hard drive back and then dropped it off to Simply Mac to have them send it in to the "cheaper" data retrieval service. I literally heard nothing from them since I dropped off the hard drive (1 month ago). Over a month later, today, I find out they will cover everything EXCEPT $850 of the data retrieval. Although I should have had multiple backups THIS WAS ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT AND WANT ME TO PAY TO HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING MY DATA BACK. Ive lost all of my important photos from trips around the world as well as pictures of friends and family, some of whom are no longer alive. THANKS SIMPLY MAC! Continue the 2+ month ongoing Simply Mac saga if youd like right here on this review board! Ill keep posting in the future.

Reasons I liked it: - Great service on the phone - Fixed the main issue my computer had (software related) Reasons I disliked it: - They said they would fix the computer the day I brought it in, it took 4 days instead - They didnt fix side issues, they simply forgot about it (issues that are given to the tech in notes, by other employees most likely are ignored or forgotten) - Customer service on pickup was not competent (with other words the people I picked the mac up from where borderline unfriendly and didnt know what they were talking about when asked how to continue using some apple services like time machine or other things related to the further use of the computer. For one question the employee went on google and looked up a simple restoring process because he was shaky on how it worked - When I was struggling to open the door with a heavy IMac in the hand, they didnt have the courtesy to help open my door or bring the computer back to my car) - The Tech that fixes everything and is the only one certified to perform diagnostics or hardware repair has limited hours and there is only one. This Tech only works during business days and conventional business hours (8am-5pm). So expect waiting through the weekend if you have trouble with your computer or waiting extra days if the tech has a longer queue of computers to fix - I brought in the computer with a plug for electricity, it took a small discussion and some time for the employees to hesitantly give the plug back (Careful of what you leave in the store, as they might not give it back or argue with you that some external part was not given to them) - Overpriced for almost all services (They charge a $75 fee for anything software related on the computer and a $125 dollar fee for restoring your computer from time machine) These are very simple tasks that shouldnt cost that much Overall I would not go to Simply Mac again unless I absolutely had to.

I have been meaning to write this store a review for a while now, and my experience today had me sitting down to type nearly the moment I walked through the door with my new (refurbished) Macbook Pro. Every time I have walked through the door at this store, I have been treated to some of the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere, and today was no exception. Having been rescued by the awesome staff at this store on more than one occasion, I have to thank James, Brian, (Connor: you preformed CPR on my laptop on a previous occasion and I will be forever grateful) and a few other people on the staff who saw the look of determination/desperation on my face when I walked in with my coffee-stained computer after 5 p.m. on a Saturday and made it clear I needed to leave with a functioning computer. They made it happen. They went above and beyond, as usual. Thank you for being there, each and every time I have walked through the door; you have earned a loyal customer.

I had no problems with the staff as they answered my questions quickly and they were nice for the short time I was in the store. I was trying to sell an old macbook (2007), however, I lost the install CD so I went there to inquire about how much it would cost to have Snow Leopard installed. They wanted to charge me $75 dollars whereas expercom (another local mac store) only wanted to charge me $20. The only reason I even tried simply mac was because it was much closer to where I live. I asked about maybe trading in my laptop for credit towards an iPod but they wouldnt even take it because it was "vintage". I went to expercom and payed them $20 and after an hour of sitting at einsteins while I waited it was done. Expercom offered me $50 (reduced from $150 because of a bad battery) for my laptop but I figured I would try my luck on Amazon. I feel like $55 extra for the same service is outrageous so I will not be returning to simply mac.
