I was really hopeful that boarding my cat for the first time would have been a good experience and I felt like almost all of the faults were due to lack of communication. I took my cat in at 5:30pm on a Friday and the person who helped me (who I later found out was the owner) seemed very rushed. I gave her my cats food, some coupons provided on their site, and feeding instructions (also noted on his intake form) and asked if I could see the cat room before leaving. She was very happy to show me the room but again seemed a little rushed and even told me that they were busy because it was rush hour. She did assure me that they closely monitored the cats to make sure that they were getting along and that they would take good care of him. I kept a close eye on the webcams during my vacation and employees did come in and out during the day to clean and feed the cats but I never felt there was any close monitoring going on. This was confirmed one day while watching the webcams it was clear that the cats were not getting along as well as the other days. I was watching for about 45 min and no employees entered to keep an eye on the cats until they settled down. I understand that cats like to determine dominance but I was worried for my kitty that day as he is very mellow and has a slight vision problem and may not be able to defend himself. My real problems arose today when I went to pick my cat up. The employee was very friendly. She gave me my total which did not add up with the coupons I brought when dropping kitty off. I told her of the error and she began to look through the large amount of clutter on the front desk. She could not find them so she went to get my cats items. When she came back there were multiple items that were not mine. I had gotten the idea already that organization was not the best. I happened to see my cats food bag and told her that it was mine. When she handed it to me I was disappointed to see that the bag was still completely full just as I had given it to them. I asked why he had not received this food because he has a very sensitive stomach/corn allergies. She told me that they feed the cats the food they have at the facility unless the cats are boarded in a cat condo. She then asked if I was told this when I dropped him off. I told her no, I was never told this. She assured me that their food contains no grains, which is fine but I still would have preferred my cat to eat the food he is accustomed to to avoid him getting sick or have been told that they were going to use their food. The owner walked in afterwards and told the girl at the front desk that they could honor one of the coupons I had brought in even though it was never mentioned that only one coupon could be used when I dropped him off. I paid for my bill and as Im walking out the door the owner again tries to assure me that their cat food has no corn. In trying to hold myself together I quickly walked out the front door. My 1 star is for the friendliness of the employees and for the groomer doing a wonderful job on my kitty. He smells great, and his bandana was so cute. Im disappointed because I have another trip next month and unfortunately wont be returning to Coddled Critters for his boarding. *UPDATE* 5.13.2017 - Not 24 hours after pickup and my cat is very upset and will not let me hold him. He growls when I push lightly on his stomach. Im assuming that his stomach is very upset due to Coddled Critters not giving him the food I provided. I am infuriated that these people cant follow simple instructions! Dont go here unless you want a vet visit directly after their stay! *UPDATE #2* 5.13.2017 - Just less than 24 hours after picking my cat up and he is at the vet with a 105 degree fever and severe back pain. The vet informed me that it is likely from a cat bite that has not yet caused cellulitis. Had to pay $150 in vet bills for antibiotics, pain medication, and subcutaneous fluids. What a great way to spend my time after returning from vacation. BEWARE.

The first impression is that the location is somewhat in the middle of nowhere north salt lake, but once you get inside, the facility is very well kept and is very cute and boutique-ey. I called for an appointment for my dog and Erin took me in last minute and fit him in to her schedule. She was warm and greeted us and was so sweet to my puppy, I felt very safe leaving him there. Because he was there for grooming he got a free day of daycare, nail trimming, verrry cute haircut (body/face/hands/tale), anal glands released. He looked so happy, healthy and super darn cute when I picked him up, and he had a cute new bandana on that Erin had given him...plus we got a free bag of puppy food samples. She was very thorough and gentle with his care, and absolutely no cuts or injuries whatsoever. I like that she gets proof of every dogs vaccinations before they can go into daycare or grooming in order to keep all of the dogs safe (either through the papers you bring, or she will even call your vet to confirm for you) I could not believe that the total was only $29 after a military discount! (regular only 35!) This is such a great great deal and SO worth it. I can tell that my baby will enjoy being cooled down for the summer, and he just looks adorable. I am very happy and Erin has certainly earned my loyalty as a customer, I will definitely return. I did a lot of research on other local groomers, their policies and the way that they treated their customers. No other grooming facility made me feel more comfortable than Coddled Critters and now I know why!

I REALLY wanted to use and enjoy this business but unfortunately I was under the impression my dog was being taken care of but every time I get him from here hes limping and finally this time (literally the third time out of four) hes whining and limping much worse than all the rest. I thought maybe it was normal to be a little sore but this time I cannot ignore the writing on the wall. My dog is refusing to walk because hes so uncomfortable... I have mentioned this to each receptionist that if he doesnt get enough breaks/naps he will get hurt and limp at home, and only one professional has listened to me and respected my wishes! You would think these people actually have experience with dogs, this is extremely disappointing. I imagine they would have the common sense or education to give the dogs a rest period especially if theyre their for many hours but I guess their "nap" time is not efficient nor effective enough for each dog. If they see a dog becoming tired theyre the professional and they need to care for the dogs appropriately. Do your job ! I was willing to pay the money to do this weekly but not if I have to end up paying it in vet bills. I will not be utilizing this business any longer. P.S my dog is one year old, and has zero health conditions. This place is awful.
