My husband and I went to Easterns in Hyattsville, a bit of a hike for us from Baltimore, but we had our eye on one particular vehicle, and as a back-up option had seen a number of hybrid vehicles at that site that we liked as well. We rushed after work, both busy professionals, to be able to get the purchase completed in one night and not have to continue driving each other to work. We met Carl, who seemed like a nice enough salesperson, found the car we were interested in, and then the experience went downhill from there. We had to wait 45 minutes for an initial credit decision after completing the application, and we were offered an unusually high interest rate, considering that I have a mortgage, a good income, and have no missed or late payments. I had not eaten dinner because we rushed there after work, and had watched our sales person eat dinner in front of us while waiting for 45 minutes. I snapped and said I was walking away, and was asked what interest rate I was looking for - then magically after more than 30 more minutes of waiting, was able to get close to the interest rate I was looking for. The finance manager offered us something to drink after he had overheard me complain about how long we were waiting and that we had eaten no dinner. We finalized the deal, but not after being pressured by our salesperson to leave an on the spot review of our experience (I don’t really think he wanted to see how I was really feeling at that point – I told my husband twice that I wanted to walk out and he had convinced me to stay because of how long we had already invested there). A week after purchasing the car, a plastic liner under the hood that’s bolted into the front bumper of the car came unbolted and was hanging/dragging on the ground. I had to keep pushing the piece back up in place, and it finally ended up getting caught while I was driving and ripped. The staff at Easterns made me bring the car there to look at, and asked so many questions to insinuate that it occurred because of damage and would not be covered under the 30 day “Warranty” they had offered. They told us they would give the benefit of the doubt and replace the part (the right thing to do when you have first time customers and you’ve sold an expensive used vehicle), but we would have to drive to Hyattsville AGAIN in order to have it fixed. They waited until we came to pick up the car two days later to drop the bomb on us that they did not replace the part, but rather just bolted the broken plastic piece back into the inside of the bumper (which could have been done at the dealership close to us or done when we brought the car to be looked at the first time). I would never recommend or return to a place that pulls a bait and switch like that – if they had even just done that “fix” the first time we brought it in, I might not even be this angry. But to make us come back again after telling us it would be replaced (and not providing a loaner car for those two days) was disrespectful and rude. Never again! If I could give back the car and get my money back, I would.

On Saturday May 16, 2015, I went to Eastern Motors to purchase a Ford Explorer. I met Carl Morris, of the Eastern Motors Sales Team. He met me in the parking lot. He was very cordial and relaxed. He guided me inside to his sales desk and began to give me EXEMPLARY Customer Service. I am not a big fan of sales people, but his relaxed demeanor and professional attitude, disarmed me, and before I knew it we had talked about an hour and half waiting on paperwork and such. He offered to get me something to drink several times and went out of his way to offer me additional service that I greatly appreciated. This was easily the best car buying experience I have had since buying my first automobile. He assisted me to purchase a 2012 Lincoln MKT, which I had not heard of before. It is a beautiful luxury SUV that cost that same as the Ford Explorer I originally wanted. I want to thank Carl Morris and the staff that works with him, they provided a very professional atmosphere. My wife has already asked me to take her to Eastern Motors to purchase a vehicle. She wants a Honda Accord, just giving you all a Heads up at Eastern Motors Hyattsville. I will recommend all that ask about where to purchase a auto, to go to Eastern Motors and ask for Carl Morris. Very professional, to the point, and shows a natural care to his customers and co-workers. Thank you again Carl, and the Eastern Motors staff!

This review is dedicated to the kind sales gentleman Mr. Michael Robinson. After having some car problems my mother was sadly left without a car from coming back from a family funeral and was in dire need of securing a new vehicle. Well by chance she decided to check out Easterns Automotive Group website to see what kind of vehicle she could secure on a short notice. Without having a general ideal in mind my mother was graced with the warm and hostibable Mr. Robinson. Not only did he take his time and walked her through step by step of finding a car, my mother was able to purchase a vehicle so that she can get around. Given the bad week that she had and ever else that has happened , Mr. Robinson was the Ray of light that my mother needed to make her day especially special. Not only did Mr. Robinson take the time to drive back a vehicle that my mother had borrowed from one of her co worker to her house, he made sure that she was settled and comfortable with driving her new car. It is with grace and dignity that makes Mr. Robinson an exceptional gentleman. Thank you Mr. Robinson for helping my mother find an exceptional vehicle and a special Thank you to Easterns Automotive Group.

I found a car Honda accord for $16,000 online and contacted the dealer. During our meeting with Carl Morris, He told me that PRICE OF THE CAR WENT UP TO $16,501.00 BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A GOOD CREDIT, IN ADDITION TO THE 20.51% INTEREST RATE. I understand about the high interest because of my credit history. Price hike because you have bad credit, i do not understand. I demanded to speak store manager. Store manager responded that if I want the car I have to pay $501.00 more because of my bad credit. I HAVE ALL OUR CONVERSATION RECORDED and will find a way to attach it to this review and/or post it on other sites. I would not recommend Eastern Motors for anyone. In addition to price games/skims, poor customer service, and unqualified sales personal. Paper work, back office, she does not want to talk to you at all. Sign here, sign there, I do not have time for this, when you ask for explanation. I would not recommend Eastern Motors for anyone and will continue to search for government agency that oversees the dealers about the particular dealer, since I have all the proofs, their words and their website picture. UNBELIEVABLE.

Riding Safe On a whim, I submitted an inquiry online about purchasing a car at Easterns. I didnt think that by the end of the day I would have a "new to me" car. The follow up came just moments later and shortly thereafter, DeAngelo was greeting my children and I when we arrived. From the beginning he showed impressive patience. I can say that for whole sales team. They found a car that met all of my expectations. They didnt try to upsale a larger vehicle than I could afford or manage because of the size of my family. The main focus was having something that was safe and comfortably affordable. The process was so organized and simple and required very little of me...just 4 pieces of documentation from me and they did ALL the paperwork. DeAngelo made me feel confident that Easterns was working for me. I dont think I heard "no/ not possible" one time. At the end of the day, I proudly own a beautiful blue Chevorlet Cruze. I wish I could send a picture of the children sleeping soundly in the back seat, instead of fighting over arm room. Thank you DeAngelo and Easterns for phenomenal service. -Cynthia Rivers
