I was very pleased to have Betsy Couture make my wedding dress. I spotted her dresses a year before my wedding and knew that she understood what non-traditional brides were interested in. It was exhausting to go shopping for my wedding dress and have so many sales associates tell me that I did not want something short. After many discouraging appointments I realized what I wanted was not sold in stores. After finding Betsy I talked with her about my concerns and about what I really wanted in a wedding dress. She not only supported my decision, but loved it. She took the ideas that I had and was willing to work with the difficult materials I wanted. She was honest about her opinion on some of my ideas and we modified the dress accordingly. I was married three months after meeting with Betsy and was so pleased to have my dress finished during such a time crunch. Because of the time crunch my fabric options were pretty limited but Betsy found a fabric that was absolutely perfect. The dress did ultimately cost more than I had assumed it would from our discussions at the beginning of the process. I was a little surprised by the cost after seeing the quality of the dress. I was not expecting the extra costs that came up during the process, but was able to make it work out. There were a few things I noticed after my last session that I wanted to change about the dress, but I ended up not having the time to do so. Betsy was very accessible throughout the process. She and I emailed often and she was willing to look into the last alteration I had in mind, but I ended up taking care of it on my own. I was really appreciative of how willing she was to listen to my concerns. The feel of the dress was perfect. She understood what length would look good on me (at times holding measuring tape and pins while I obsessively lifted and dropped the skirt for the length I felt comfortable in) and showed me why. I was very happy with the end result. I think it is very sweet that she talked to my photographer to make sure the length of my dress was accentuated in photos. I felt like because Betsy took care of that I wouldnt have to worry about it on my wedding day. It was a beautifully photogenic dress and was so fun to move around in. I purchased a petticoat from Betsy and ended up not using it because she had made the dress full and flowing by itself. Thanks to Betsy Couture I could dance, run, and feel like myself on my wedding day.

I had a really hard time finding a wedding dress with sleeves that wasnt the same as everyone elses. I wanted something that fit my personality and was comfortable. I came to the conclusion that the only way to do this was to buy a sleeveless dress and have someone add sleeves for me. I found someone who said they could do it, I bought the sleeveless dress, but then the seamstress backed out on me because of family challenges. I had loved Betsys dresses in the past from working as a wedding photographer but didnt think there was a chance she could help me with such short notice. But Betsy stepped in and was willing to help. She was honest with me about the challenges that came with the project, but took my ideas and made them happen. I had financial limitations and she was willing to work with me and create something I loved within my price range. When the project was complete, I took the dress home and then discovered some things about the fit that were not going to work on the wedding day. I only had 2 days until the wedding. Betsy took the dress back and in less than 24 hours had the corrections made with the dress back in my hands perfect for the wedding day. The cost did end up being a little different than expected from what we originally discussed, but Besty was awesome in taking my challenging project, with minimal time, and creating the perfect outcome for me. I would recommend Betsy to anyone! I love my dress! It was my personality, it was SO comfortable, and I havent seen anyone else with anything like it. Call her.

After my Mom and I had watched several episodes of Say Yes to the Dress, we were scarred. We wanted a fun and memorable dress search. I found Betsy Couture on the web searching tea-length wedding dress with sleeves. I was unable to attend the first meeting in person, but Skyed in with Betsy while my Mom and sister we present. Betsy listened to my desires and asked me to stand so she could see me. Her designers eye was spot on. Betsy worked very well with an out of state east coast bride. Due to family circumstances, I was able to attend the first fitting in mid-July, and a final crash weekend of fittings the end of August. I flew home with my complete ensemble. Betsys attention to details and knowledge of materials, patterns and a womans silhouette, is exceptional. While Betsy was constructing my gown, my original desire was a sash at the waist; but LIKE A TRUE ARTIST, she allowed the dress to speak to her and applied a beautiful beaded belt. Perfect combination. I am so happy with my dress and am extremely honored to wear her original piece of art on my wedding day. The entire experience for myself, my Mom and sister was beyond crazy fun. I have found a friend for life and I am truly grateful for Betsy Barker and Betsy Couture Wedding Gowns.

Betsy is a very experienced seamstress. She had a variety of ideas for altering the dress to meet my needs and was frank about cost. Im very pleased with the outcome of the dress, but had difficulty working with her overall. She cancelled two appointments and then was difficult to reschedule with because of a lack of availability. I was saddened that as a result of one of the cancellations, my mother was unable attend a fitting, because she lives out of town and was only visiting for a few days. During our appointments I sometimes felt more like a nuisance than a valued client. Im very mild mannered and found her to be somewhat abrasive and insistent with her opinion when we disagreed on a stylistic choice. Im simple and Betsy leans more towards the ornate. She is very passionate about wedding fashion, whereas Im lukewarm. I dont think I am the ideal type of client for Betsys work though. If youre looking for simple adjustments and hemming, Id recommend you look elsewhere for services. If youre interested in creating or redesigning a gown, Betsys a perfect choice. As a side note, I find it inconvenient that Betsy only accepts cash or check and recommend a future investment in something like squareup for greater client convenience.

Betsy Couture Wedding Gowns Working with Betsy was by far one of the most amazing highlights of my wedding planning. I had a very specific, unique style of wedding dress that I wanted, and no one anywhere had what I was looking for. Then just by chance I found Betsy Couture. She brought to life my dream wedding gown and was absolutely wonderful to work with. My dress was by far the most amazing wedding dress I have ever seen, and exceeded my expectations. Many others who had seen my wedding dress including photographers, videographers and people that I had met have said my wedding dress is by far the most unique and beautful dress THEY had ever seen. Considering they were complete strangers and have worked with hundreds of brides each year, I took their compliments very seriously. And it was thanks to Betsy who help bring my creation to life. I would highly recommend her for your future wedding dress! You will not be disappointed. She also made me 5 gorgeous tulle bridemaids skirts that were absolutely stunning. She is amazing!
