SHORT VERSON AT THE BOTTOM!!! LONG: I recently purchased a 2000 Toyota RAV4 from York Automotive roughly a week ago, and after professional inspection, the car was far from what I was promised. First, Id like to say that the buying experience was pleasant at first. To test drive a car, you simply ask, "Hey, I want to drive the (Insert Car Here)." The gentleman at the front will hand you the keys, and lets you drive off on your own. Simple as that!! In that respect, I would easily give this place 5 stars... until numbers started flying. The negotiation process is far from "no pressure". To start, the sales person wouldnt stop talking about how fast these cars were selling. He was not wrong; however, made me as a buyer feel worthless. I felt as if I was constantly being told, "If you dont take this car, someone will." After presenting my researched market value on the car (both KBB and Carfax), I was immediately told that I should NEVER use KBB and that those values are wrong... So therefore Im wrong. Dont try to negotiate, its their special softwares price or the highway. After taking their estimated market price ($5400) I started pointing out flaws in the car (giant crack in the back, door wont lock from outside, passenger door wouldnt open). The sales person didnt even know of those problems, and I had to go out and show him. After seeing the flaws, we were able to negotiate the price down to $5350... yep, only $50 after talking with his manager. They once again pointed out "if you dont buy it, someone else will". So much for no pressure. I was about to walk away, but then the salesmen began talking about the mechanical condition of the car. It passed the vehicle safety/emission testing, along with their inspection. He talked about how great the car ran, and emphasized the car had no leaks. At that point, I was sold. No leaks and a brand new timing belt meant no expensive mechanic bill... or so I thought. After talking the car to the mechanic today, I was told the break lines needed to be replaced. I thought that was fair. The mechanic then told me that my transmission and power steering fluid was leaking. I told the mechanic that I was told there were no leaks, and asked him to show me. Sure enough, there was red fluid collecting near the transmission and the power steering lines were leaking. I really wish I got the KBB value in that car, because now Im looking at $150 to change the break lines, and upwards of $400 to change the power steering system. The cost to fix the transmission leak would cost an arm and a leg. IN SHORT: The "No Pressure" philosophy is true, until its time to start signing. The sales people dont seem to know a lot about the cars problems, or at least pretend not to. If youre looking to buy a car from them, get it inspected by a professional mechanic, because theyll tell you what you want to hear. Its a lesson I had to learn for $400...

I purchased a 2005 Scion XA from them a back in 2015. The car had about 96,000 miles on it when I purchased it for $6,000. Test drove it, no lights were on, and everything was perfect. Shortly after taking it home and driving it regularly, the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I got the codes read and found it was an apparent camshaft issue. Theres no way they could have received the car and NOT known it was throwing an error if so soon after driving it, the light came on. I took it back and they agreed to pay PART of the cost for the replacement of the solenoid. Guess what? Not too long after that the check engine light was BACK on. I called, left messages, but was avoided by these people. I tried to ride it out and change the oil regularly with high grade, high mileage oil. Nope. The light never goes off. After speaking with the rep who sold it to me about a year later, he discouraged me from contacting the owners and was on the phone with me for over 30 minutes trying to get me to NOT call them. These people knowingly sell lemons, but change the oil and clear the codes so that when you test drive it, everything seems fine. There are multiple scenarios in these reviews that have similar stories. I STRONGLY ADVISE TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Im locked into a 5 year loan with this crappy car that I can barely get to pass inspection every year. Please heed my advice and dont fall victim to them. Stop them from preying on peoples trust.

We actually bought a car at York Automotive a few years ago. Now their prices are way too high. For example you can see a 2011 Hyundai Elantra that they want $7,995 which is high Dealer Kelly Blue Book. (Aug. 18, 2017) This is not a large dealer with high dealer costs. It is a small run down place with 15 or so cars on the lot. On KSL listed right next to their Elantra is a 2014 Hyundai Elantra with almost the exact same miles for $7,000. (3 thousand more miles) Both cars are from dealers and both cars have clean titles and clean car faxes. York Auto acts like they dont want to sell their cars at all. They are not going to take care of you after the sale. Why would someone pay "High" Kelly Blue book Dealer cost when you are not dealing with a "Big" dealer which will at least have parts etc. for the car after the sale?

Dont go here! I dont know if it was just because we were young but we were taken advantage of. The sales price of the car was way higher than the book value, and when we talked about it with them, they explained in a way that seemed to make sense so we fell for it. When we went to get the loan the loan to value ratio was 140% above the value of the car and they couldnt give us a loan for that high of a ratio so we called them to see what they could do and they didnt do anything! They wouldnt lower anything or do a fair price even when the bank was saying it was outrageous. So we couldnt get the loan and they wouldnt give us our deposit back for that situation, which I would normally understand except for it was impossible to get the loan because they werent being fair. I will NEVER go back.

A true pleasure to work with! I live in Idaho and was searching for a commuter car for about a month. York Automotive kept popping up in my searches. I made the 6 hour drive down and was pleased to see the inventory was up to date and was what was reflected online. I had been searching two states for a Camry with low miles and York had 7 to chose from that were in my price range. I purchased a 2005 Camry with extremely low miles. I have owned it for 6 months now and have loved it. I have recommended this dealership to friends and relatives that have since purchased cars from them and have had the same great experience as I. When I am needing my next vehicle, my first and last stop will be York Automotive.

I bought a car form there and it has given me nothing but problems , fist there we found a leak in the gas hose and under the carpet we found big tears and now I just found out that I have a broken engine mount. They told me that the car was checked over and that there was nothing was wrong but I think because I was buying out right and that would explain why they were pushing us to get it so bad. It was good car for the first few day then all these things started happening to it and I love the car but now I am having to put more money in to it. I will never buy from them again and would never recommend any one to York Automotive.........
