This is a response to Mr. Andersons, Mr. Huzzeys, Ms. Mcgees, and Mr. Shivelys reviews below: Customers should be aware that John Anderson is very likely Mr. Huzzeys lawyer and has not purchased a car or services from us. His review is not based upon a personal experience of his own. Ms. McGee also has not been our customer and was likely recruited to write a negative review. Her review dates to the same time as Mr. Huzzeys review. Mr. Shively, who purchased the Dodge Dakota, low-balled us on that Dakota by $1000, and it was already under book by $500. Then he complains about 8 fuel injectors going bad and that some bolts being loose. This was a used car, and certainly had had other mechanics work on it long before we touched it, which could easily account for loose bolts that we did not touch. We cannot predict when injectors or anything else on a vehicle are going to go bad. We do know it passed safety/emissions (done by a third party) and it drove just fine when he purchased it. Even after repairing the injectors, Mr. Shively still got a great deal on the truck, given what he paid for it. Mr. Huzzey also made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. After reviewing it the BBB posted that they felt I had addressed the customers issues, but that the customer was still unsatisfied. I have learned that some customers simply cannot be satisfied, and Mr. Huzzey is one of them. He insisted that I refund all of the money for his daughters car without my even being able to look at the car to see just what happened. His daughter admitted to driving the car after the oil light came on for one-half mile until the engine stopped, apparently blowing the motor. If she had stopped the engine and pulled over when the oil light first came on, it would have been a much easier repair. His daughter also clearly did not know how to drive a clutch as she drove off the lot. She was over-revving the engine and burning up the clutch as she left, which both my mechanic and I witnessed--we both did unbelieving double-takes as she drove away. Again, I cannot predict what will go wrong with a car, nor can I control how a customer handles a car. There are thousands of parts that can break on a car. Even new cars break. Mr. Huzzey also declined a warranty. Mr. Huzzeys bullying and threatening and defamation (calling me a liar and a fraud and a cheat) and his unwillingness to allow us to look at the car made it impossible to work with him to resolve the issue. We have been in business for 11 years and have very few bad reviews over those years. Ive attempted to respond to them and worked with customers where it was possible. I find it curious that Mr. Huzzey has claimed in text messaging that he is "honest". I have found over the years that people who claim to be "honest" are very often not in fact honest. I always assume people are honest until they show otherwise. Mr. Huzzey later claimed via text messaging that his daughter only drove the car for 11 seconds before pulling over after the oil light came on. This directly countered what his daughter told me (half a mile until the engine stopped and she was forced to pull over), which I have on tape. Mr. Huzzey also claimed his daughter had three years experience driving a clutch. With my experience in cars, I can say with certainty that the way she drove as she left did not show 3 years of experience. Below is a response I posted three years ago to Mr. Mittons review: Mr. Mitton purchased no services or vehicle and yet complains about our service? He complains about the owners politics, but even gets that wrong as the owner does not agree entirely with even the tea partys typical viewpoints. I cant even remember this guy, and he certainly never made any complaint that we could attempt to resolve. Nor does he specify any particular complaint about our service.... We at Liberty Auto do our best to ensure our customers are happy with the cars we sell and the services we provide. We love what we do, and we dont care what political views our customers may have. We welcome all.

June 2014: Liberty Auto has served me well several different times over the last two years! I bought a low priced Mazda from Dave, the owner, for under $4000. It has worked well for my daughter two years with no problems at all. Of course its not new but Im totally happy with that Mazda. Dave saved me several hundred dollars on an A/C repair in June of 2014 for my 1999 Suburban that another shop in Clearfield tried to sucker me in to replacing components that ended up being completely fine. To clarify, Dave gave me options of what to do depending on what I wanted and what I could afford. Heck, the stupid Suburban was only worth $3000. But Dave took the time to research more affordable options for this older A/C. He told me that I could block off the rear A/C and avoid replacing the expensive metal lines and evaporator etc. with a $75 dollar component. Then he fixed just the front A/C by replacing only what was needed plus the coolant for the A/C. The Clearfield job would have cost me $1600 and Daves option for me was $275. What a HUGE savings! And last week I dropped off my sons cheapo high school commuter Toyota Corolla that isnt worth $1500 dollars to have its A/C and fan repaired for the hot summer. I asked that only what needed to be done get fixed. Liberty Auto fixed the A/C leak, refilled the lines with coolant and replaced and installed the fan resistor for a total of $248 including tax. I also asked Dave to look this older car over for anything that MUST be repaired to be safe but Dave didnt try to ream me for anything extra. If you are looking for a decent, reliable, affordable, and most importantly HONEST Dealer or Repair Shop then Liberty Auto is worth considering.

Terrible customer service. My husband and I were looking into a car they had. It had an issue with it (in the motor for fan for ac and heat). The dealer (Imron) we were working with refused to get it fixed before he sold it to us. He was unwilling to do anything at all to work with us in buying this car. We finally decided it would still be a good purchase so we bought it anyway. Three hours after we had bought it and drove away with it the engine light came on and started blinking. We pulled it into a mechanics shop and had it checked out the next Monday (because it happened on a Saturday night). Apparently, the dealer had it detailed and his mechanic (when washing the engine) had got water down in the spark plugs. The dealer knew about this and had somebody blow the water out, but when we took it into our mechanic, what would you know? There was still water in the spark plugs! Our mechanic told us he didnt know if this would cause anymore damage. The only way to find out would to be keep driving on it. We called the dealer that day and told him what we found out and that we knew it was caused because of his detailer. We told him that if there were any additional problems with it because of what his detailer had done, that we would like him to pay for it. He refused and was totally unwilling to work with us. On the contract we signed, we did buy the car as is and it had no warranty, but what happened to us was really unusual circumstances. The dealer had no intention of trying to help us, he didnt care. Terrible, terrible customer service. If you want to be cheated and taken advantage of, this is the place to go.
