An employee who works here is a thief. I didnt get his name, but hes the overweight guy with black hair and a beard. Some time ago, I sold my vast Dreamcast collection of games from childhood because I had no use for it anymore. The employee (the one I mentioned) scans in half of my Dreamcast games, then tells me he has "seen the prices of all of your other games, and I know what they are" and didnt bother to scan in the other half of my games. I was suspicious, but dismissed my intuition that I was being stolen from because I was offered about $120. Not too long ago, I sold a recent Pokemon game and was given $8 for it. Days later, I come in with 16 PS3 games to sell. That same thieving employee pulled the same scam on me: he scanned in actually less than half of the games this time, said he "knew the price of all the other games and dont need to scan them," then offered me a whopping total of $25. Youve got to be kidding me. $8 for one Pokemon game on 3DS, but only $25 for 16 PS3 games? The math just doesnt add up. I suspect that this unethical employee is clandestinely holding the unscanned games for himself, then when know one is watching he scans in the stolen games in a "transaction" and takes the cash from it that should have gone to other people. If this scam has been pulled on me twice now, theres no telling how many unsuspecting people this employee has swindled and how much cash hes stolen.

While not the worst video game store Ive even been to, its definitely not a great place. The selection is quite vast, but not many gems in the store. When I go into a game store I look at the Dreamcast selection first and foremost, then check out the Gamecube games and work my way up from there. However most of their games are just crap games that are used as filler in the walls e.g. TONS of old shitty sport games for the GC/PS2/etc. They also sell just a bunch of cheap third-party accessories, very few original controllers and/or accessories. I asked one associate about the quality of the wireless gamecube controllers and he said he didnt know, that he only uses the Wavebird. OK? You sell these products, you mean to tell me youve never once tried them out to see how they are so that you could recommend or not recommend them to customers? Or offer me a used Wavebird that I probably wouldve bought on the spot. In conclusion, if you need something specific, call them up and ask if they have it. Hopefully theyll answer you in a non-condescending way. Other than that, dont expect a great selection in the store and definitely dont hope to have a decent conversation with anyone in there.

To start off, Im not a huge fan of Game Over Videogames, but sometimes you just have to deal with them in order to find that one rare title or CIB copy youve been hunting for. Their prices are typically 20-30% above market value and their stock is rarely of the quality that a retro collector like myself is looking for. Having been to several GOV locations I would rate this one as the worst of what Ive seen. The store is larger than most GOVs but their stock was by far the most inferior and their prices were the most inflated. What I will give them credit for is their basement section which has a few awesome arcade cabinets, selection of game literature and strategy guides, and custom artwork for sale by several local artists. If youre an avid retro collector just skip this particular store. Youre better off hitting up the GOV just inside 610 off of 59, or if youre feeling adventurous head out to La Porte and go check out Game Bros. Their selection is amazing and prices are very fair.

Nice store layout including an arcade. Plenty of parking as well. Two biggest knocks are that the staff is SOMEWHAT knowledgable and the game selection is rather poor. In the Xbox/PS2 area there are MULTIPLE copies of the games. So much so that it takes up a lot of shelf space so its no wonder that they dont often have games you might be looking for (unless its Halo or 50 Cent Bulletproof). GameCube and Wii are lacking as well outside of some big titles that they have on-hand and the PlayStation 1 and N64 titles are a joke. Much of the store is filled with Guitar Hero/Rock Band gear, shirts, toys and some display-only stuff. If you were to remove the arcade from the bottom floor then the actual floor space for games would be surprisingly small. Having a limited space and filling it up with tons of copies for games seems like a bad call. Would it really be that hard to say no to someone that brings in tons of Wii plastic, fake guitars and a few more copies of The Incredibles?

This place has a nice selection of retro consoles and games. I decided to purchase a Nintendo 64 system this past week; and I love it! I did have several compatibility issues between the N64 and my newer led television, but they helped me get everything working properly by offering alternative solutions. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because they only allow 2 weeks to return defective items; whereas a local competitor offers 30 days. You never know how long these systems will last, and its a gamble to even purchase them. It would be nice if they offered some sort of extended warranty or service plan, I know I would have definitely purchased that.

Ive had my XBox 360 for only a few weeks that I bought used from you guys. Its dead now. Wont even turn on. What a piece of crap. I bought it with cash too because your stupid credit card machine was down as well. Stupid me for not keeping up with the receipt. Game Over is so ironic of a name now. I just transferred all of my old titles to this machine and bought a few games online with it too. Im never shopping here again or will I recommend it to anyone I know. So beyond pissed off at myself and this business for selling crappy merchandise.

These folks have a vast amount of games, gaming accessories and consoles. Newer and vintage. We bought a Guitar Hero guitar, and took it all the way home to realize it had massive lag. We brought it back and were able to exchange it immediately. One of the employees even calibrated it for us. I believe they also buy games too. Update: Im pretty sure this isnt the actual location I went to... The one Im talking about was in Houston. Oops.

These guys are a bunch of rapists and thieves. For a gamecube, zelda WW, and SSX3 all in excellent condition they offered 16 bucks. Just one of those games goes for 16 bucks on eBay and you can sell your GameCubes on eBay or Craigs for 40-65 bucks. And the Zelda WW I did by from them just a few months ago, no case, for 32 bucks. They rape you going in and comin back out.

Amazing selection on practically any console you want and the team is very friendly and knowledgeable. Specials each month and a system to inform you if a game you want happens to come in! Also reading through the comments I appreciate the effort that goes into the owner replying to comments and reviews! Will definitely return here for all my gaming needs!
