This is one of the best video game spots I have ever been to. There is a fantastic mix of old and new. I got my first video game system when I was in middle school. It was an NES and the year was 1996. Then I grew up and married a computer geek/video game connoisseur. At one time or another over the past 12 years we have owned all of the cool old school systems. This shop had my husband lamenting over the systems and games he has parted with. I love that this store has a comfy couch for kids to be amazed by the "old" systems. There is even an art gallery to bring back all the old school feels. Want something old? They most likely have it or will happily chat with you about video games of long ago. Need something new? They have that too. We took home a Skylanders Giants portal for the PS3. There is something for the whole family here. Snazzy themed merchandise to amuse the 4 year old all the way to old school systems and new games to have the 33 year old cracking his wallet.

Waited in line this morning to get a console, only to be skipped over and have other people taken care of. Once I was able to tell them what I wanted, they gave the console, that I waited patiently in line for, to someone behind me (And grabbed a few more things for him then checked out). I dont know what was up with that, but being treated like an inconvenience then have to feel grateful for being offered a beat-up, clapped out, yellowed console had me upset. GameOver isnt bad, but having some garbage employees will make you think twice about coming back. I DONT RECOMMEND COMING HERE! Check out the other locations.

Bought an Xbox one controller. Asked the clerk if we could bring it back if it didnt work for a refund? He said I had 30 days. Next day, we show up for a refund (we couldnt get it working) and his co-worker says the store policy is no refunds! WTF? He lied to me or, he said it in such a way that led me to believe I would get my money back. Never shopping here again! Stay away! Gamestop has a much better return policy. Actually, they have a return policy!! On top of the "No Refund" policy, their prices are much higher than Gamestop-Id rather drive the extra 5 miles than shop here again!

Very clean and well laid out store. I especially like how everything is displayed. The selection on newer titles is a little slim and aims more towards the retro era. I brought in a lot of expensive 3DS games and got offered under $70 for everything. When in reality they retail used for over $350. The selection of newer games that were being offered used were a tad bit higher than what it can be found elsewhere. Altogether ... cool store, but a little on the pricey side of things. If convenience is more important than price, then this is the place to hit up for all your retro needs.

Took the family here to find some older gameboy color games. I half expected to get the typical "boutique store additude". The staff was courteous and helpful! Asked us several times if we needed assistance and when we asked questions they were very knowledgable and best of all not patronising. I really dont mind spending a little more for used games if the place has good customer service.

Great Store! I recently started collecting Gamcube, Play Station, and dream cast games, and the staff there are awesome! My handy Man Got me an Indigo GameCube from the back and set me up with a memory card and told me his favorite games for the console. I will agree that prices can go unrealistically high for certain items (pikmin 2), but other than that the store is a joy to go too.

Excellent place to find what you need. I have been going to this store for about the past 4 1/2 years . Great selection of games and customer service. As a loyal customer Ive even told family and friends about this place and Ive even taken some of them there. Today I will be going back to pick up a game I have on hold and buying some other things.

Ive a regular for about a year, and have only good things to say about Game Over, South Lamar in particular. They provide excellent customer service, even at the busiest times. They take time to meet all my gaming/electronic needs and I always walk out satisfied. Pricing and trade in value is the best in the city. Thanks guys!

This location is tied for my favorite GOV location. Me friend and I were the only customers in the store at the moment. I brought up that I was looking for the Gran Turismo 5 soundtrack. The guy working the counter went ahead and put it on their music system, brought a smile to my face. :-)

Best video game store in Texas as far as Im concerned Great library to choose from And actual fair prices that keep up with the market which works out very nicely when selling a game or 7 Also the manager is literally the best they come as far as just retail in general goes

As far as I am concerned , game over videogames is the place to get retro games, controllers, and consoles that you cant find anywhere else. Although it can be expensive , but you can trade your old games in and get paid more than you would at any other store. I like it...

All the games and gear you could ask for to satiate your retro geekery! I dont go to this location very often (Its furthest from me.), but the staff here are great! I have been pointed in the right direction or to one of their other stores for items on multiple occasions.

Such a great store. I went in just to take a peek at the selection, had a nice conversion with the store clerk about games, and ended up buying some items at the end! I will try to come back again next time I am in town.

I bought a game for my 5 year old, it was damaged and wouldnt play. The store wouldnt return my money and offered only store credit even though I returned it the same week. Dont waste your money here.

Visited this store from out of town. A lot of product on the shelves, unfortunately, I found their prices to be inflated. Youre better off checking online, or other game stores, for retro gaming.
