This place is absolutely terrible. No one cares about you or your animal, they simply care about making money. They have absolutely NO personality and they do not care well for their animals. I have come here many times in an attempt to let them redeem themselves, and they have never done this. I have taken my dog there to get her nails clipped and her feet and tail trimmed and each time was a disaster. Shes had her nails clipped there 3 times, each time coming back with nails almost as long as when she got there. The one time I took her in to get her feet and tail trimmed, they forgot to trim her tail! They only had to do 2 things!! The groomers are nice enough, but clearly not very good at what theyre doing. The managers there are useless and the employees really do NOT want to talk to you unless they absolutely have to. I will be driving farther away from home to go to a different pet store just to avoid this horrible place, I suggest you all do the same! Over priced product and rude employees do not make for a good customer experience. Save your money and your smile and go elsewhere! Also, they refuse to match their OWN online prices.

The grooming department was very unprofessional and did a terrible job "grooming" my dog. I set an appointment for 11:00 and dropped my dog off at 10:30 because they told me I could bring her in early, The groomer told me it would be 3 hours. I stopped in, 3 hours later at 1:30, she wasnt ready. I stopped again at 2:30, she wasnt ready. Finally at 3:00, I was tired of waiting around all day and told them I just wanted my dog back to head back home. They bring her out, and she had yet to be groomed at all! They told me they had given her a bath and started doing some scissoring on her. She looked exactly the same as when I brought her in. I received the bill and they did not give any sort of discount on it taking so long to do absolutely NOTHING! I paid $47 to wait around 5 hours for my dog to get a bath, I could have done that on my own in 10 minutes for free! I would never recommend bringing your dog here. Terrible grooming job, terrible customer service. Wont be recommending this place, and definitely will never be coming back.

I went here several times for the past 3 weeks. How do I put this, the fish guy Max is helpful and really knows what he is doing, and I think so does Derrick. However, some of the staff really dont have the knowledge of how to take proper care of reptiles & small animals, especially HERMIT CRABS!!! I just dont understand why any people would sell hermit crabs with painted shells - the painting is not good for them! And there not many hiding areas which can stress them out so much that some even dont make it after the purchase. I compare PetSmart and Petco personally with my hermit crabs, and I definitely think PetSmart is doing a much better job providing them decent environment even though the little tank is just a temporary place for them. Well I dont have any dogs or cats now but as far as the hermit crabs, I do NOT encourage people to buy them! I hope in that case fewer hermies would be mistreated in the future.

We took both our shelties to the Ann Arbor Petco for grooming today. Weve taken them there a couple of times in the past, and while they do have a tendency to cut shorter in the haunch area than I would like, it usually hasnt been bad. Until today. We typically ask the groomers to trim up the area under the tail, as poop can get stuck in the fur, when their stools are soft. Trish N, our groomer today, took this to mean, "Please shave the entire back halves of both of our dogs." When my boyfriend asked her what she could have been thinking, she responded, "I thought thats what you wanted." Not only does it look completely bizarre, its also very unhealthy, as shelties long outer coat protect them from the sun. Trish has said she has given this cut to shelties before. I want to cry. The grooming visit cost $90, and I have no idea how long it will take for their fur to grow back.

I have a 4lb yorkie and for the first 8 months after getting my puppy I took her to the Ann Arbor Petco to be groomed. Each time we went my dog never saw the same person and not once was she cut the same way. They kept saying that they didnt have a standard cut for yorkies and they couldnt save any notes in the computer because their computer system was never working properly. Each time took her in they kept bathing her and never used a deep conditioner. Her skin is so dry and irritated now and its taking a long time to get it back to where it should be. They never told me or took note that her skin was very dry. The only thing they did tell me is that her coat was matted, and I brush her every night before bed! Since March we have not been back, and have no intentions of visiting in the future. TAKE YOUR PETS ELSEWHERE.

If I could separate my reviews for the Petco grooming salon and Petco store I would-- Id give the store 1-2 stars and the salon 5 so overall Im giving 3 stars. Ive been taking my dog to the grooming salon for years, Im not sure how everyone is there but Brittany is amazing. Really loves the animals and cares for their well being, always gives me honest feedback on how my dog was. After hearing different horror stories about grooming salons its a huge piece of mind to know hes in good hands when I leave him there. The store is just mediocre. It never really looks very clean, no one ever greets me or asks if I need assistance. Not very knowledgeable.

Terrible service. To make a long story short, I booked my dog and explained the normal problems that I have with him when he is getting bathed. About 20 minutes into the appointment, I get a phone call stating that I need to come and get him because he was having anxiety issues and pooped twice. They werent able to dry him because he was afraid of the dryer. Again, I made all problems with him known before the appointment. They still charged me for the half ass bath they gave him but tried to make up for it with a 50% off coupon. Needless to say I wont be going there again.

The grooming services are one of the worst weve experienced, a simple nail trim. They simply do not understand how to deal with dogs and dont show any patients towards dogs that "dont act right". Theyll charge you full price then do less than half the work meanwhile threatening to put us on a "blacklist". Weve since then brought him to another groomer a bit further away with no issues. Many of the customers from this other groomer shares many similar stories of Petco.

The first time I went here they did a great job. The second time, just last week it was horrible. He has an oval shaped bald area on his rear flank. It was slightly irritated like a razor burn. I asked for his bum to be cut short but they left some longer pieces of fur there. It was choppy all over, I dont think they touched his head. Cant really say if they trimmed his nails but I dont think so. It was incomplete and shoddy work all round. He looks terrible.
