DO NOT PURCHASE ANIMALS AT THIS STORE. Instead, look at Moby Dick pet store for exotic animals (fish, rodents, reptiles, birds etc). You will pay less money for healthier, better cared for animals. Every time I have visited this store their animals have been in terrible condition. The rodents are often sick and almost always completely unsocialized and skittish. The ball pythons are severely underweight and have stuck shed from dehydration. The fish in the tanks are diseased or ammonia poisoned, and some have severe burns from the ammonia in the water. The bettas are always dying and laying on their sides with fin rot and rotten food all around them. I used to buy bettas here, every single time the ammonia in their cups tested at greater than 8 ppm, which is atrocious. The employees lie about having performed water changes recently (8 ppm ammonia and piles of rotten food but you just changed it this morning? Sure) and try to tell concerned customers that betta are just "lazy fish" that like to lay on their sides. I have kept betta for years and years and I can tell you that they are active, zippy, wiggly fish that hardly ever stay still when theyre healthy. The only time a betta (or just about any fish) lays on its side is when it is very sick, usually from ammonia poisoning. Please do not support a store that abuses and neglects its animals to death. Moby Dick on Sashabaw road has healthier animals and knowledgable staff who will help you.

We had our two huskies groomed here and it was the worst service ever. I have never gone on a site to complain but this I just had to. First the gal who waited on me was so rude and bossy and degrading. Then we went in to get our dogs and they were not done, took another 1/2 hr after she told me that they close at 8 and to be there before 8 as the dogs would be done or shed have to charge extra. Looked on the door and said closed by 9! I said I thought you closed by 8 she said well technically "I" do. Hmmm. Okay, for the absolute worse case now. She said your dog is matted on her sides and so I felt and they were palm amount of mat on each hip. My dog is a very large dog so those mats were kinda medium matted for her. She said she would have to shave that and I said okay... It was Not matted down to her flesh! She only lays and sits on her hips so mats happen. We get her back and she shaved her so close to her skin that in large spots she has razor burn!!! Her whole back end area is shaved to the skin and her anus is raw and sore looking. This is just horrid!!!!! I am so sad for the abuse my dog has endured. I want to post a picture but I dont see where I can. I did sign where I gave them permission to shave her sides, Not her whole back side!!! My husband always tips= No tip for her. They did not brush her either. They washed her and put her under a dryer oh and shaved her back end, too lazy to do it right!

This store is pathetic I had worked here previously (and for a very short time due to harassment) they are NO WHERE NEAR HAVING THEIR CRAP TOGETHER! While working there I witnessed the GM Kelly sell a guinea pig to a teenage girl from a tank with a recently quarantined animal. THIS IS AGAINST STORE POLICY all animals that share a tank with a sick animal have to pass an observation period to ensure they did not also contract the illness. A guinea was diagnosed with a URI and Kelly sold one from the same tank. a few days later the girl came back to the store with a now sick guinea sobbing asking for help and her new pet ended up DYING IN THE STORE! This is only one of many MANY things Ive witnessed or endured while working here. Daily harassment from the GM Kelly that I ended up having to call corporate to report and overall in the end was the reason I left, Kelly pushing employees to "bend the truth" to get donations. Rehiring an old employee named Shane after being terminated for selling the wrong products to pet owners resulting in the DEATH OF THEIR PET! Also on more then one occasion hearing customers ask me "is that really how they treat the employees here?" I wouldnt wish working here on my worst enemies. DO NOT SHOP HERE AND BUYERS BEWARE!

I think this Petco is okay. Had my dog groomed there for the first time, it was slightly more expensive than I anticipated, not a big deal. The groomer was really nice and friendly and my dog liked her. Puppy smelled good and was clean. When I was there I went to buy a product and they were all out. I called 2 days later to see if it was in stock yet and they said it was on a truck and would be in stock the next day. Called again today and they said they dont unload the truck for 1-2 more days. Sort of annoying. They had the product on Amazon so I bought it there for the same price ($99) and it will be delivered to my house faster than they will unload the truck. But, the workers have always been nice.

Worst customer service!! My pet has been groomed there for several years and all of a sudden because he nipped they can no longer groom him??This has not been the first time he has nipped her!! The groomer herself couldnt even tell us herself that she was not going to see him anymore. She decided to just put it on his file notes for when I called back to make his appointment. Spoke to the store manager to ask why the groomer didnt say anything to us. Well he was so rude that he did not even let me talk, talking over me!! Worst store manager I have dealt with. Not to even say Petco grooming services are one of the most expensive stores

i purchased a tub of small worms for Cooper, (my taranchula) who was very upset to find that they were all dead! he was highly disgruntled, and demanded that i return to the store and dispute this with the manager. after speaking with the manager who was understanding and very polite, he, without question, replaced all the tubs of dead worms and even added extra tubs for my and Coopers inconvince, and i didnt even have my receipt. this is a very good store with polite and knowledgeable associates. i WILL be back.

They suck. Wasted my time tells me I was an hour late when My appointment but it was at 9. One of the dogs chewd a dog bone last night and spit it up this morning I told her he just didnt feel well and she goes on to say the dog is sick. He is fine it was over with. I will take my two Yorkies somewhere else.

While waiting in line to pay I was watching a couple of dogs being groomed. One tiny one was shaking so bad and not once did the groomer talk to the scared dog or even make any move to try and calm it. A robot could have done better. I will never take my dog there for grooming!

Bought some fish to add to my tank. HUGE mistake! 3 days later.... all my fish had ich (fish lice) 6 have already died. I also bought dog food from this location. Opened the bag... had moths and files covering the inside of the bag. I will NEVER EVER shop at any petco again.
