I recently bought a 2016 Triumph Street Twin at Lone Star Harley Davidson Triumph, and the overall experience was not good. Among the issues that I had at the dealership: 1. The dealership tried to charge me a $600 "prep fee" when I bought the bike. The original sale document that they gave me did not have an itemized list of the cost of the bike, but when I demanded an itemized list of costs I saw the fee. They did take the fee off when I told them I would not pay it and would walk out of the dealership. 2. I had applied for credit prior to coming to the dealership, and had already been approved for the motorcycle. They had forgotten to have me sign one of the documents for the loan, and it took them almost a month to contact me about signing the document. They supposedly showed up at my house ( I actually never saw them, although they claim they did come out to my house), and I ended up having to go back up to the dealership to sign the document. 3. I had ordered parts to put on the motorcycle, and they called me when they came in and left me literally a 3 second message on my voice mail telling me the parts had come in. Because of the extreme brevity of the message, I probably missed it. There was no follow up to that call, and I found out the parts were there 2 weeks after the call when I called them to ask about where the parts were. 4. They gave me the wrong license plate and registration for my motorcycle. I drove around with the wrong license plate and registration for a couple of days before I discovered that they were incorrect when I went to the DMV to pick up my military veteran plate. On a positive not, they did give me a free shirt for all of the issues that I had. Which I guess is good, since it shows they recognize they have issues and that is the first step in solving the problem. I love the motorcycle, but given my experience here I will go to Dallas to one of the Triumph dealerships there and hopefully avoid these issues the next time. Follow-Up Post: I told myself after the last post that I was done with this dealership and I would just move on. But another thing happened that I think people considering using this dealership should know. As I said in the earlier post, they did not get the paperwork completed for my motorcycle loan until more than a month after I took possession of the motorcycle because apparently they didnt understand the process. When I originally questioned them about this because I was concerned about late payments, they told me that they had made the first payment. I was a little incredulous about this, but took them at their word. Which, of course, I shouldnt have. I just found out that the payments I have been making on the bike have been late, and a late fee is being assessed each month along with finding out I was a month behind on my payments. So once again, another unprofessional clownish stunt on their part. The whole process has not been a pleasant experience. But I love the motorcycle, and there are competitors of theirs that I have had great experiences with: 1. The Scooter Shed in Lindale. Great people and they do wonderful work. I had them put on a bike rack and saddle bags; they did a great job, they are honest, and they met all of their commitments. And they charge less than half the labor cost of Lone Star Triumph. I recommend them without reservation, myself (and my friends) have had nothing but great experiences with them. 2. RPM Cycle in Dallas. They are a Triumph dealership (along with other makes) who have a selection for gear and add-ons that makes Lone Star look like a joke. I bought saddle bags, a phone holder, and a riding jacket from them; they had everything in stock (wont happen with Lone Star, theyll have to "order if from England") and they sold me the saddle bags and phone holder at less than list price (once again, wont happen with Lone Star). Bottom line, this dealership is a t-shirt shop. Go there and get your t-shirt, but I would be careful about doing anything else in there.

If you call them on the phone for anything... nobody can help you...well, updating this. Walked in to get parts I ordered...was confronted by only god knows who about leaving a truthful negative comment. I still have no clue.. left and was getting in vehicle and he was still yappin in the parking lot. Not good for customer relations...guess Ill start driving further to get parts now. Back story is simple... I call to check on parts, was told parts was busy..so I asked if he could help me, he said no...funny thing is, all the computers are linked to the same system. A quick look under my account would have told him everything I have ever purchased or ordered and what had been received . Just like 100% of every Harley dealer...this isnt just a one time issue. The last ten years has been like this. I live quite a ways from them, so I cant just go in and check. Its also funny that you call in and who you need is always busy...yet even like yesterday, nobody was in there...I have never seen over two people there during the week...weekends yes, but mostly folks who ride and stop at all shops. The number for me was no good because it wasnt mine....new update July 1st..I found out who the guy was I talk to on the phone and the one who confronted me in store.. it was Orrin Latch, OWNER of this dealership both times. So , I ask...as the owner of this business, isnt it your job to fill in wherever the need arises to help the customers you want and need? Hmmm..its also funny that this dude never said who he was when he approached me at the dealer or on the phone..might want to take some customer service classes.

Went to purchase a $42,000 CVO Street Glide from them. Showed up, signed papers, went to deliver the bike and there where scratches on the tank. They said it would not be warrantied because they had it for over 10 days in which Harley only allows that time for them to find defects. I asked them to cancel the transaction and I was notified that money was not going to exchange unless Brandon sent final paper work so not to worry. Upon leaving without my new bike I called my bank to make sure everything was cancelled and they were about to transfer the funds. Not only can I not get a response from Brandon now, but Im sure they sold the bike to some unlucky person not able to see the scratched up tank. Poor customer service! They were very excited to get me out the door and put miles on the bike so it was out of their hands.

Normally I keep to my own business, but this needs to be said. You took 2 weeks to open my brothers bike up and tell him his clutch is burned up, then told him that its not covered under warranty becuase its "normal wear" even though the bike is only a year old! THEN you charged him for pulling the cover off, and didnt even put the damn thing back together. Personally, I have had a customer service experience that was a little more than lacking. I walk in and am immediately looked at as a window shopper. I will NOT be doing business with you ever again, and you can bet that I will be sharing this story at every rally, bike night etc. I go to.
