This is definitely my go to brick and mortar sports store. I love the selection, the prices and the easy return/exchange policy. I have spent too much money here in there fishing department buying more gear that I care to calculate. Ive also bought camping gear, and gun gear here and the staff have always been quite helpful. I recently had issues with a tent I bought here a year or two ago. The tent pole broke. I fortunately still had the receipt and the box so I took it back and they refunded my money without issue. I was able to easily buy a replacement tent of a newer model without trouble. They have a hassle free unlimited return policy and it seems to be more than just words.

This was the worst experience. I spent 15 minutes up front at the Sunglasses section and talked to an Associate who couldnt answer anything regarding warranties, so she got a manager named Chris J. This guy also had no information for me. I asked about the warranty of Nike, Oakly and Under Armor and he said "I dont really know" then proceeded to tell me another Brand they carry has limited lifetime warranty which I was not interested in. I was abput to spend over $100 on glasses and the manager had no one in the store that could help me so I told him ill spend my money elsewhere and he looked happy to see me go. I hope this isnt acceptable performance from yalls Managers.

Good place to get all your gear at once - new sneakers, hiking boots, gym clothes, bike tires, fancy tent, etc. Its not REI so it may not have the super high end gear but the payoff is much much lower prices, and after all, most of the time you dont really need that ultralight 3 season backpacking tent as much as you tell yourself haha. The clearance racks usually have some good deals if you look a bit and there are always sales on something. Good place to get things for the outdoors without blowing your whole paycheck

I come here all the time to buy my athletic equipment. They always have the things I need in the size I need them in! I got my bike from here about 2 years ago, and went in last week to get it repaired and the guys there did it at no extra charge, they completely changed my gear system which wouldve cost me an extra $100 at a repair shop. Overall a great sports shop and I love coming here.

Called ahead to find out if they had what I was looking for . The lady told me yes we have several. So I drive an hour to get there to just to find that there are none on display finally tracked down someone to help and he was to lazy to bring one out for me to look at . Mind you I was about to spend $1, 000 . This guy would nevet be hired by me .

1st time to visit Academy. All was fine except checkout was slow...only one open. I am handicapped an had a cane. Checker checked my products an asked if I wanted to purchase a. Academy bag to put my items in. I said no thinking she would put it in a bag.....nope I had to carry the stuff an walk with a cane....they lost my business.

My experience with this store was not a pleasant one called in day before to reserve a pool i was told it would be reserved and available for pick up i drove 40 miles to find out the guy that took my call did not reserved my pool i have sand ready planned activities for my disappointed kids and no pool ! Thanx academy at Sunset Valley

I absolutely love Academy they have a lot of different sports equipment for cheap while still being very good quality. I bought a pair of Kyries and they have lasted forever! Plus I got a pair of Lunarbeast football cleats for $40 when normally they are $130! Overall I would definitely recommend this Academy.

Always have what I am looking for. Good selection of sports and outdoor equipment. Good selection of ammo as well as guns and accessories. Usually something nice on sale in the clothing department and this is my first and usually only stop for shoes. I visit often and usually find something worth my money.

Huge selection of items for all types of sports and activities. They have a great return policy (which is why I gave it 5 stars) and a very friendly staff. They occasionally have some good prices but nothing too wild. If you need something sport related, odds are that youll find it here.

Both friendly/outgoing and awkward/shy people work here. More of the former. Decent prices-Had so much stuff and thought I was going to spend at least $250.. I didnt even hit $200. They had a sale and the place looked like a war zone. They need more staff. Ill be back tho

This has to be one of the best stocked Academy stores I have ever been too. The displays are always nice and shelves in order. My only issue is with the fishing department. There seems to be difficulty keeping popular items in Stock. The bathrooms are nice and clean.

I had no idea how wonderful customer service was at Academy until I went to return a watch. The pin on my watch had broken after only 1 1/2 months of ownership and Acadmey took it back no questions asked. I thought this level of service was only reserved for REI.

I like this store. I went in to find a nice portable, grill to take on a road trip and I found an awesome one at an awesome price. The employees gave me time to look around without feeling pressured and answered any questions that I ran in to.

The place was clean and the employees were friendly, but the store seemed a little disorganized. It seemed like the items hanging on display were just thrown at the bottom of the isles and hadnt been picked up in about a week.

Bunch of shoes were scattered all over the floor. I almost tripped in one of the aisles. I also saw the same Merrell shoes that I purchased over a year ago selling for $89. I think they should be clearanced by now.

Their staff sit in small groups joking around (seems to be a trend at several locations) very hard to find anyone that helps unless theyre locked behind a counter such as the gun department

Ive been to four local Academys hoping to pop in and pickup large size white baseball socks. Every store seems to be out of that particular one......amazing! Guess Ill go online next time.

Fishing and hunting stuff is very friendly. I have got my pole and reel their with my line. Know the other sporting section you just wonder and try to find a sales man.
