For those who dont know. Academy is supposed to be pet friendly yet when I walked into the store with my dog I was RUDELY told to leave and literally escorted out of the store... I was personally there months before when someone was caught stealing and they nicely approached him and asked to have a word with him and walked off with him YET I walk in with my dog and the guy at the front door YELLS at me and says YOU NEED TO LEAVE because my dog was not allowed in the store. (MAY I ADD THIS WAS NOT THE 1st TIME IN THE STORE WITH MY DOG THIS WAS AT LEAST THE 7th TIME IN LAST 5 MONTHS THAT I HAD TAKEN MY DOG) I am not trying to break any rules by any means if Academy considers it self pet friendly and there are NO SIGNS at the entrance of no pets allowed why would they kick me out that way?

I had a problem with a firearm and the manager, Zac, made sure that the issue was fixed by replacing the firearm. That was excellent customer service! The firearm had a legit problem and it was solved very quickly to my amazement. Anybody can shine when all is going well, but when I was upset, Zac and his staff made it good and corrected the situation all with professionalism and smiles on their faces. That was the 4th firearm I bought there and it wont be the last. I love my Academy Store in Edinburg!

Great parking, but watch out for people cutting across the parking lot from the Expressway entrance at the rear of the store or drivers coming from the Starbucks on front of Academy. The products are consistently labeled and all of the merchandise is organized within its appropriate shelf. The site is still under construction since this month and the end date is always being pushed back according to employees.

Academy has always been a store I can always count on to buy workout clothes and such. The employees at this one particular franchise store was particularly clean and the employees were highly attentive. The selection for all kinds of sports s as always superb. The prices are low to very affordable. What kept me from giving it an additional star was the rather smallish selection of shoes.

We were a bit disappointed when trying to purchase something we needed our credit checked, We knew it was excellent. But when the guy came back he said something was wrong! We called and credit people told us we were just missing our physical address, and that our credit was great! Still waiting for a card theyre sending for us to purchase the item we want! Disappointed

They have a nice variety of knives, camping equipment etc, but i can find there $20 knoves at Walmart for $10 to $15 but the variety is still there ao i give it a thumbs up just make sure you know what your buying and what other stores might have it cheaper. In other words great store.

Not enough reel brands , reel brands they carry limited size selection fishing line again not enough brands or size selection have to send search party for staff while browsing I cant recall ever been asked if I need help I frequent this location a lot only option available near me

the edinburg store is further away from the border influence and therefore neater and better kept than the jackson rd. one. employees of the edinburg store were equally helpful and courteous. great store. good job guys!
