We came here yesterday to purchase two firearms and was helped out by Roland who was very knowledgeable in this area! It was a very busy afternoon and while he was helping us decide which ones and explaining pros and cons of the ones we were interested in, he was answering phones calls, peoples questions, etc. It was crazy how patient he was and the knowledge! Some guy asked about binoculars, another about certain holsters, and about 10 different questions in between. Not only that but that phone kept on ringing and he would check if certain things were in stock for them and all while smiling and being super polite. We are very happy with our fire arms choice and happy he was there to help use out. My only suggestion would be having someone else to him Roland out!

Came in to buy a mountain bike and I found a pretty good one, good price also so, I asked an employee nearby if they come ready to ride and she said "oh yes our assemblers do a pretty good job so theyre ready to go." I buy the bike, go home and try testing it out.. the chain is off all the gears so I fixed that no problem. Next the handle bar was a little loose so I get my tool kit and try tightening the bolt but it doesnt go past where it was at. Handlebar is really loose and I wasnt able to return it. Immediately took it back, refund. Not even gonna try to exchange it

Its a mess. Ive been here two times and thats two times too many. I had to hunt down an employee for help, and when I finally found one, she pointed me to the wrong direction so I was just better off finding the section on my own. They only had one cash register open and the guy looked new because he kept asking questions to one of the other workers. Why put him by himself is he isnt ready? 3 stars mang!

Very rude staff.. I was in the fire arms section and a gentleman was applying for a weapon, the store employee James was being extremely rude to the man. Saying things like "sir you dont know what a county is or what?" " so you live in Roma but you dont know your state?" " do you or dont you know where you live?" Very sad that Academy has people like that working there.

I went to pay for a Gun Save and gave them my check. Their system rejected my check. They dont accept checks because my check was rejected, They dont no WHY, my bank did not rejected it, they dont verify on weekends. The manager doesnt know why. Maybe its because Im retired and an elder. This is totally unacceptable.

Clean restrooms. Well organized store. I absolutely love that several trash bins are located throughout the store. Its location next to an open field and the expressway make the parking lot a litter magnet. Thankfully, the extra trash cans help keep it clean.

Great place for many items if your into sports and outdoors and or just like to dress in comfortable clothes. I should know. I used to work there and still go there to buy clothes, camping stuff, and ammo for use at the range. Theyhave good prices.

Typical Academy. The show department is usually a wreck. The firearms department is usually well stocked. Management is starting to get the hint to keep high traffic areas uncluttered, but they still have a way to go.

Shoe department is always a mess and employees are not helpful or have no knowledge of department or just lazy. This has happened several times. I prefer the on of Trenton, there they help you.
