We dined at this cute restaurant before seeing a show at the Majestic. My daughter and her friend are vegetarians, and it was hard to find a restaurant downtown close to the theater that would have something for all of us. I browsed their online menu, liked what I saw and made a reservation online the day before. We found MoH easily (directly across from the Majestic), and checked in with the host about 10 min before our scheduled reservation. We were told about the pre fixe theatre menu that would ensure that we got our food quickly enough to get over to the theater. But the host also looked at the clock and saw that we had plenty of time and told us that we could order off the regular menu as well. Our server was great, and there were a few "helpers" walking around to ensure we all had beverage refills and anything else we needed. Our appetizer of lemon hummus was delightful, and the portion was large enough for all of our party to share. My daughter liked her margherita flatbread and my son enjoyed his fried chicken. I had the mushroom risotto and it was delicious. All of the dishes were served piping hot and it was wonderful. I was nervous about trying this restaurant as some of the reviews werent spectacular. But Im so glad we tried it anyway, and we will definitely be back!

The pricey Easter brunch failed to deliver. A technical glitch in their space on Open Table allowed us to make a reservation one hour before open, so we waited one hour in the lobby but then they compensated us on half our meal price. We were seated when they opened but they immediately ran out of high chairs; they only have three apparently in the entire hotel, so we held our one year old for half the meal. The food was quite good for a buffet, but we had difficulty getting past the long list of shortfalls. There was a phone cord hanging from the ceiling down to the floor at our table. No syrup at the station for waffles (the one gallon plastic jug was later brought to our table - classy). And they charged 18% gratuity up front... For a buffet... We served ourselves. Come on. Would not recommend.

I give MOH five stars because I really do like the food and the prices during happy hour are very reasonable for being in a major downtown hotel. I cant speak to the table service because I always sit at the bar. And being a fellow downtown person in the service industry, I hate to say anything bad, but I notice the Managers and Chef read these comments. So, I wish the bartenders were a lot more attentive and friendly. Like I said, the food is outstanding and thats why I go back every week. But the service is subpar and not very friendly. Just my two cents. But I will keep going anyway. The ingredients are really fresh. Even something as simple as the chicken salad is superb! But if you want an exercise in indulgence, get the fried chicken open-face sandwich. Soooooo good.

We stopped in at M.O.H. while on a trip in San Antonio in June. The restaurant looked very nice. We were seated quickly and our server was with us quickly as well. Just after we ordered one of the managers came up to us and offered us free tickets to the Wizard of Oz Musical just across the street. We only had 15 minutes until it started. So, he went back to the kitchen to speed our food up and had it out in 5 minutes. The food was delicious and we were able to make it to the play on time! It was overall a great experience with great staff! I would definitely suggest stopping in for a bite to eat. They also have a little "To go" cafe area as well!

I arrived and was sat outside by the very nice baker behind the counter because the hostess was nowhere to be found in this empty restaurant. And there I sat. And sat and sat. As various staff members in black or white or both looked right at me before addressing other tables. People came and went. Are and paid and left. And there I sat. And now here I sit writing this at Zocala where the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the food is wonderful. I cant speak to the quality of the food at Market because after 40 minutes of seating I never received even an offer for any. Boo, MoH, BOOOOO

This is among my favorite places in San Antonio to dine or drink. Its a great place to take visitors -- lots of history in the building. From the little deli market, to the patio restaurant on Houston Street, to the quiet bar in the back with a massive wine selection, you cant go wrong. There is also a speakeasy in the back of the stunning Sheraton Guenter hotel, which houses MOH. The menu is diverse, farm-to-table concept, though the quality varies depending on the chef... High turnover. Prices are really not bad! Happy hour is good but NOT up to date on web page.

I am beyond furious! On 3/14 we dined at Market on Houston. After a horrible experience with a terrible waitress. We tried to speak to the manager and bring to his attention that our service was terrible and that the server INTENTIONALLY served us a $13 glass of wine making it seem as if that was the only type they had and it would be $8. We chose not to leave a tip. We just saw our credit card bill and an 18% tip had been added. We plan to dispute this charge. I absolutely would NOT recommend anything about this restaurant. What an awful experience.

Bartender a new lady, only here a week was amazing. She knew her stuff and was very friendly. Food was beyond way over cooked. Next day we tried the dinning room. Worst mistake. Burgers are a nice size, but very very dry. Salmon was over cooked. Waiter told us the steaks arent good and come out over cooked as well. Friendly staff. Overall dont recommend if you want to even slightly enjoy your food. Keep looking. 4 stars are for the service. 0 for the food. Currently in the hotel Googling places to eat.

Unfortunate experience, we went with a group of 6 and ordered a set of appetizers with our entrees. The pork belly sliders that our server brought out literally had a dead cockroach on the plate. When we told the server she left the plate with the cockroach on our table for several minutes while she went to find her manager. Ultimately they waived the check, but I definitely have concerns about other potential health code violations there, and cant understand how they let that get on the plate.

The food was not great. It was passable. Six of us ate there and I dont think anyones food was very great. My daughters hamburger was probably the best of the food. The blue cheese on the wedge salad was grocery store bottle quality. The fried chicken was not as good as what you can get at fast food. We were not impressed for the price we paid.

This place just did not live up to my expectations. The food was not bad and the plate was a good portion. I had the Adobo pasta with steak. It looked amazing and the price was $17. The steak was the best thing on the plate. The pasta lacked flavor and to have a chef, I was not impressed.
