Overall Petco really is my least favorite place to shop for any animal related supplies. I dont know why when this day in age PetSmart gets it sooo right and other places like Pet Plus do too. Why do places like Petco in Richardson exist? Dirty, messy, unorganized, things lying all over the place in the isles all the time, unfriendly customer service (and basically totally untrained in the products they carry) and staff who literally dont even do the basic greetings when you come in the door. This store is the dirtiest Ive ever been to. Of course they carry many different brands but they dont carry the fresher premium dog jerky products the other stores carry. Really dislike Petco, sorry guys.

I rescued a tiny Least Shrew from my pool drain. Petco got me all set up with an acrylic aquarium, this amazing brick earth that expands when you add water to it (perfect for Sadie the Shrews burrowing, and some cans of meal worms, crickets, and grasshoppers. Sadie is all about the meal worms though (fyi). Shes just as safe, comfortable, and as happy as can be! She doesnt come out much - only for food, but shes as cute as a button and I couldnt be more pleased that I was able to save her from drowning and give her a good home. Thanks Petco!!

This place sucks ! I Decided to give the grooming their a try never again my dog came out all shaky scared , crying . My dog was afraid if I touched him by his collar and paws . I feel like they harmed him because of the way he was and still acts when he gets touch now . Never will I take him back again . Never have had a bad experience with grooming places till I took him here ! He didnt even want to get out of where they had him he was hiding in the corner . Normally he comes out all happy after his grooming everywhere else ! Never again !!!!

I am not a fan of how they keep the small animals. When cleaning the Hamster cages they will throw the hamsters into a small container and at times you will see the hamsters go Ballistic on each other when confined like that. Also not a huge fan of them using the live rats as snake food. We have since stopped going to this store as they are not adopting them out as pets.

We recently moved to Irving and took our dog to a new groomer but only 5 minutes of dropping him off they made me come get him as they said he was aggressive. So I called Juana who has groomed my dog since he was 11 weeks old and she told me to bring him in and she had absolutely no problem with him. I would highly recommend this place to any one of my friends

Last four times I went I needed feeder fish. No one came even after I asked for assistance and waited a decent time. Took my business to petsmart where they now know me by name and attend me as soon as I walk in. Although petco does have an amaizing variety.. The staff could atleast ask if you need help and actually help when you ask.

There grooming place sucks. My dog got accused of biting somebody, however it was their fault. If a dog is crying and you see them trying to bite you common sense says stop these dumb people continued even after I said stop. My dog will going there anymore. Sorry I normally dont put bad reviews up but they messed with my dog.

The fish department seems to be hit or miss, changing from wonderful to grotesque each month or so. The parakeets are the most deplorable of any pet chain location in DFW. Do not buy budgie parakeets from this location. The staff is friendly and professional. The inventory is consistent, and the store is clean.

Some of our fish died because they put too many in the same bag. We were getting a bunch for a pond we have in our back yard. We only live 2 miles away and immediate put the bag in the pond when we got home to assimilate temperatures. 7 or 8 died out of 30 or 40 we got. What a waste.

Good place for specific pet needs. Dogs are always welcomed and they also have little treats for them at the registers. I just wish someone wouldve asked if I needed assistance. I saw about 3 different employees walking around and not one asked if I needed help.

Had an employee scoff at me for buying Science Diet dog food for my dog. Apparently I dont love my dog if I dont buy a $60 dollar bag of dog food. This place does not need my business, and I would recommend not going to this specific Petco.

We resently took our dog MOMO in for the second time and we can tell he loves going in. The techs take there time with him since he is still a pup. I highly recommend coming here there is no other choice I am a customer for life.

Fatima in the groom department is the only one who grooms my yorkie peanut. The dog is always top notch cleaned . I will never go nowhere else for my dogs grooming . The store staff and grooming assister is the best at pet needs.

I had such a fantastic experience with the groomer and her assistant! Unfortunately getting an associate to help me within the store was much less satisfying. Overall I will return for the grooming services.

They can answer those questions for the products that would best suit your and your pets need. They also have groomers. And they have a good selection of fish and other animals to adopt.

42 lb bags of litter are to heavy. Joking everyone --- I like this store. The animals are always happy. The employees always greet you upon entering.
