We purchased a new bike from this shop. The sale person Greg helped us. The experience was decent. After the purchase I called the shop and spoke with Greg. He was very short with me and then hung up on me in mid-sentence. You would think after purchasing a bike, he would make some effort toward customer service. I guess that is not part of their 100% satisfaction guarantee. I also had my bike repaired there about a year ago. I was told it would take a few weeks but it was more like a few months., When I would call to check status of the repair, they were very unfriendly that I was bothering them. It is an ok bike shop if you want to stay in Plano but there are much better bike shops in Dallas and Richardson that have more selection and better customer service.

Went in three times for three separate bike tune-ups. One in 2014 and two in early 2016. The experience in 2014 was cold and forgettable but the two experiences in 16 were awful. In both cases, we were told that our bikes were ready at a specific time and they were not. In the second case, it took over a month to do a premium package tune-up, and in both cases we had to call to get updates ourselves on the status. Worse yet, in addition to getting rude responses about the bikes not being ready, my wife was minimized both times in person & conversationally by the (all male) staff whereas they looked and talked to me as if the male voice counted more. I dont recommend this location and wont recommend any Performance location to anyone.

I purchased a Diamond Back 29r Full Suspension there a couple of months ago at the Plano store. I shop at both the Plano and Midway stores for lights, clothing, etc, but decided on the bike purchase simply for proximity to my home. Every time I go to either store I find helpful knowledgeable sales clerks. Once in a while someone is working there that isnt very knowledgeable but they quickly find some one who can help. Im about to go back for a bike adjustment on my DB Hybrid that I didnt get from Performance. Hoping to get great bike fitting. This will be the key if I turn the 4 stars into 5. More to come... Update: Bike fitting was great and Im almost pain free now. Greg was the best!

THE HARD SELL. I recently had trouble shifting both front and rear derailleurs. Even though Performance advertises lifetime adjustments I was pushed to get the $150+ two time Pro Tune up. When I stated that I only needed the shifters adjusted I was then told I had to buy the $80 Pro Tune in order for this to get done. Stating I would then take my bike someplace else the maintenance tech said "Where are you going to get a tune up for less than $80?" Plenty of places actually. I dont know if this is a new Performance policy or just this particular store trying to make extra cash. This was definitely a poor experience at Performance Bike shop in Plano, TX.

Im an avid cyclist and have been a regular at Performance Bicycle for many years now. Typically, their prices are some of the lowest out there and the selection of items is quite diverse. If you cant find something in the store, they will order for you without hesitation. In addition, they have sales and discounts on a variety of products on their website; check it out. With that said, I find the staff there are not particularly knowledgeable and only really care about commission; Ive run into several rude or impatient employees there several times before. All in all, if you know what youre looking, head over there, save some money and get in and out.

They have a very liberal return policy--up to a year, and that includes bike. Unfortunately, it is their policy to clean up the returned bikes and sell them as new..... I checked with two different store locations....and both employ this practice. To me, it smacks of a lack of integrity. To me, used is used, whether it is returned after a few days or 8 months; I want to be informed of its history when I am looking at them, and not be bamboozled into thinking the bike is new when it is not. Bad business practice, if you ask me.

I purchased a Fuji Newest at their old location thats closed now in Richardson and I have bought gear at this location as well as received service. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. These arent typical retail employees. You can bet they can answer any cycling-related question. Their service department has helped me with small concerns for free, and they offer pretty much any bike service, but I havent had to leave my bike there for service yet. They offer group rides, fyi, but I havent done any yet (Im too slow/weak). :)

Situated somewhere between a big box store and your local bike shop, this is where I get decent quality parts and accessories for dirt cheap. Sometimes I wonder how they make a profit off this stuff. They always honor the online sale prices. No questions asked return policy. Complete bike prices are on par with what you would find elsewhere. Decent customer service in this store. Great place to come for the beginning cyclist that doesnt want to bleed out a ton of cash.

Greg may be the most unprofessional, arrogant smart ass I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Dont get me started on the service plan for a bike either. It is a wonderful plan if you happen to keep the paper membership card on you for a year, and even if you do (like I did) they still wont be able to find you in their system, and make you wait there while you spell your name 5 times to the above arrogant man.. Horrible

When it comes to repairs these guys are great!! They will give you an est on what they think is wrong, call you with an honest response and do their very best to get you up and running with components you can afford and reasonable labor costs. My husband and son use their bikes for transportation and they keep us up and running. We will definitely keep using them as long as we live in this area.

Best bike shop. Jeff, and Greg were awesome. Jeff tuned up my bike and its better than when I got brand new. Then at checkout, Greg gave me great advice in riding. These were just two great experiences. Also wonderful knowledge that they shared with me. Thanks for this guys. Looking to come buy and do business. With cool guys like these, Thanks again performance bicycle!

Awesome bike shop. They really know their stuff. Have bought 2 bikes from them in the past few years. Great prices and selection. They take their time to explain stuff and dont try to oversell you on stuff you dont need. They often sell their own brand of bike, which can save you hundreds for what is essentially the same bike as a name brand.

Bought an old bike from a garage sale and brought it in last minute to see if it needed any repairs. Paul helped me out right away and the bike feels like brand new! Amazing service and a very professional and comfortable environment. If you need a new bike, general information, or repairs...these are your guys folks.

Matt was wonderful! They have the best customer service! I bought my bike online but ordered a size too big because I didnt go get fit first. I took it in, they let me try out another few, and we ended up swiping them out at no extra charge! Ill definitely do all my biking business here!
