I had a very unpleasant experience at Buy Rite Furniture. The manager was overbearing and aggressive from the minute I walked in the door. He followed me around the entire time and every time I so much as looked at a piece of furniture I had to listen to him explain to me how great it was and how I just had to have it. He also told me that he doesnt use air conditioning or lighting in his store so that he could pass those saving on to me--the customer. Sure... Although it was annoying, I didnt initially mind his aggressiveness or load of BS all that much because it is common behavior for salesmen; however, my experience took a turn for the worse when I asked him if I could take a picture of a piece of furniture. He immediately snapped at me absolutely not. When I then asked him if I could have the model number of the furniture I was interested in, he went on a condesending rant about how he wasnt a show room for competitors. Honestly, the thought of taking a photo or a model number to a competitor for a better price never even crossed my mind. I just wanted to have a way to remember the furniture that I had looked at because Buy Rite was the third store I had been to that day and everything started to look the same to me. It astonished me how he went from friendly, to aggressive, to bully-like in a matter of minutes when he felt an immediate sale slipping away. I dont know what kinds of customers hes used to dealing with, but I dont respond well to excessive pressure tactics and I like to go home and think on my options before I agree to pay thousands of dollars for furniture. He seemed to think that I should have come in there, looked at a couple items, and slapped down some cash. The only reason I gave him and the store two stars instead of just one is because he did end up saving me a significant amount of money. During the course of our conversation, he mentioned the name of one of the furniture manufacturers and I remembered it. I was so upset by my experience that I made it my mission to go out and find the furniture that I looked at in his store for a lower price by searching for the name of the manufacturer that he accidentally mentioned--which I finally did. I scowered the internet and found the exact set for almost $300 less from a competitor! Thanks to his bad attitude, I saved a lot of money; unfortunately for him, he lost that money. Thanks Buy Rite!
